Review Guido's Pizzeria And Tapas - Saint Louis

Gary Oliveros
I've been to Guido's several times. If you're not hungry, try the Tapas. The food and service has always been superb. Great pasta, chicken, and the BEST Meatball Sandwich in St. Louis. The prices are affordable. Go near Christmas time as the restaurant decorates nicely.

The atmosphere is cozy but no sound buffers so extremely loud when busy. We had the bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer which were delicious but in my opinion was barely a portion for 1 person let alone 2. My boyfriend had the manicotti which is probably one of the best i ever tasted with full flavor... definitely recommend this. I had the fettuccine alfredo with Chicken and also added mushrooms and broccoli. The ratio of everything was good except for the creamy Alfredo sauce that fell short in quantity and quality which was very bland without the rich buttery and creamy flavor that i was expecting. Maybe if there is a next time i will try asking for an extra side of sauce and if the chef could make it extra rich. We shared the gooey butter cake dessert which i will say was good and better then a lot of places in town.

This is quite possibly the best food I have ever eaten. No kidding! We stumbled across this place while driving thought The Hill district and thought we would stop in for a slice. But this is WAY more than just a pizzeria. I had the Chicken Siciliano and my wife had the seafood ravioli. It's common for a few things to be good, but in this case everything was unbelievable. Our waiter Hugo was the best. Stop in. The owner will seat you. Prepare to be amazed.

We were in St. Louis for one night and wanted to try "St. Louis" style pizza. We are from the west and have never tried Provel cheese nor this style of pizza. We looked online and found this place that looked fun, so sort of blindly went to it. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This place has atmosphere in spades and the food was excellent. I found the pizza sauce to be on the sweet side for my taste, but that is my taste and not a knock on the quality of the food. And shout-out to this local rootbeer. Best I've had in a while. I am a HUGE fan of this pizza, the local cheese, and more so of this awesome eatery. It was all delicious, including the salad. Can't wait to return and try the small plates next time The service was kind, friendly, efficient, and fun. Made the whole experience that much better.

Drove 35 minutes and we'll worth the drive. Food was incredible especially the bacon wrapped dates. Lasagna was great. Staff was courteous. Street parking only and may need to walk. Worth the walk and drive.

First time visitor. Went for my birthday. Exceptional service. The food was incredible! Especially loved the lamb lollipops and the steak with the horseradish sour cream! Two different types of mussels dishes. I wish I could remember the name of our server. She was a young African American woman. I think it was her first night. She was absolutely phenomenal. Had tiramisu for dessert and it was outstanding! Will definitely be back! Also, I marked that we spent probably about $50 per person. Maybe a little bit more. But keep in mind this was a birthday. You definitely could enjoy a wonderful dinner under $50 per person.

This place is immaculate. Can't go wrong with any of the food here. The chicken alredo pizza was the best i have ever had.

Our family had my son and future daughter-in-law‘s rehearsal dinner here last night. We could not have picked a better venue! Miguel was so amazing to work with for the planning. Henry and Haley were wonderful and worked so hard to make it a special celebration! Everyone raved about how delicious the food was and how beautiful the room was. Our family already loves this restaurant, but we are now all customers for life!

The star loss was for service. We arrived mid day on a Friday very few other patrons inside. Seated promptly, sat in a corner and waited a long while to see the waiter. He brought the wrong drinks, then disappeared again for a half hour. Came back took order and once pizza came we didn’t see him again. I had to ask for the check from the bar. The atmosphere was cute and warm it was cozy inside. The bread was good and the pizza was perfect. First time having St. Louis style I loved how thin it was with l it’s toppings. All in all I would come here again service could have been a one off situation.

Loved our food. The chicken marsalla was wonderful. The bruchetta was unique but also delicious. All our pastas were very good. Great service despite it being a crowded Sat night. Will be back to try some tapas and paella.

I had the chicken and seafood paella takeout and it was excellent. Better than the seafood paella I had in Barcelona! So I decided to dine in for some Italian food. The tortellini, has a rich cream sauce and tastes good. The Pella Valenciana was very memorable. Reservations are recommended.

I had never been to Guidos before the STL pizza passport will absolutely be back after looking over their menu and seeing the dining space. I don’t usually like thin crust pizza but that was really great. Most places uses way too much (and low quality) cheese but these was perfect.

I was craving a Caribbean Paella, which is hard to find here, but Guido's had a Spanish Paella that I thought might do. Wife also ordered linguine & clams & some bruschetta. See photos. The linguine was quite good, plenty of garlic and not *too* heavy on the oil. The bruschetta were particularly nice to my taste - those white slabs in the pics are chunks of mozzarella. I have no complaints against the Paella, as long as you understand the differences. There were beans and slices of red bell pepper, lots of mussels and some clam on the shell, and chicken thighs on the bone, apparently seasoned and baked separately before being included, shrimp with the tails... none of this is really problematic. That's Paella, and if you can't pull out the mussel shells and shrimp tails, it's not for you. I really wanted Caribbean style with tomato and more *kick* to the spice, but we ate all of this and it settled the craving for a while. Our only real complaint was the half hour we sat in the street waiting for our food. When it came out the first time there was no bruschetta, and the cook had apparently included so.e ticket from hours earlier in the day. The runner took it all back inside while they straightened it out and made our order right, while we sat after having shown up when we were told it would be ready. When we finally got it, there was no apology nor any effort at all to try and compensate or even acknowledge the delay. For that, I may not bother ordering there again, but the food itself was pretty good.

We were moved! What a phenomenal experience! We were looking for a local place near the zoo and happened to find this gem. So flavorful and fairly priced. Staff is helpful and friendly. Really neat vibe too. Definitely will be recommending and returning for more in the near future!! Bravo!

This is my favorite place for italian, its pretty quaint and it has an authentic feel inside. The meatballs are the best I've had and the tortellini is always my go to. Every waiter I've had here has been great and I love that the owner comes around to greet everyone occasionally.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. It did not disappoint. I do recommend you set up a reservation instead of coming by hoping for an open table. We ordered a large Cesar salad, 16" pepperoni and jalapeno pizza, tiramisu and gooey butter cake. There was plenty of food for three people. The staff is friendly and attentive. And the atmosphere was great. We can't wait to try other dishes on the menu.

Guido’s has been in our regular restaurant rotation for over 15 years. The service, food, atmosphere and sangria have not changed through the years. The bacon wrapped dates are the best in St. Louis. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!!
