Thank you thank you thank you to Jason and Adam Tilford for giving us Mission Taco Joint. Their first location in St. Louis' Delmar Loop, which opened in 2013, is top-notch food and genuine service, making it a favorite among students, young professionals, and families.
One standout item on their menu that I absolutely loved was the shrimp fries. The combination of succulent shrimp and perfectly crispy fries was a burst of flavor and texture that left me craving for more. It's a must-try!
Beyond the delicious food, Mission Taco Joint is fantastic for our community. Their dedication to equal rights, higher wages, paid benefits, and open communication with their staff reflects their passion for family and community. It's clear that the mission of Mission Taco Joint isn't just about great food; it's about making a positive impact as well.
Good food, unique flavors, friendly service… The three little piggies burrito was pretty good, it’s a big burrito! Guacamole was a great flavor. We enjoyed our visit. Sadly, they do not have sweet tea.
Mission Taco does it for me every time! One of my favorite places to eat tacos! I love the fish & chicken tacos! I can’t think of anything that hasn’t been good!
This place has a fun vibe and a good atmosphere. We came for dinner and has a good meal! Patrick was a great server and helped us when we had no clue what to get LOL. We had some margs, chips, quesadillas, and corn. Everything was yummy. I always end up here after a day of partying and its a great night cap.
We came in on a Saturday and our service from Markelle D was absolutely fantastic! We had a party of 9 and he was efficient, got our order right, and had a great personality.
The food was equally as amazing and so flavorful. I loved that any taco could be made vegetarian
One concern, I was told upon being seated that our check would include gratuity because of our table size. I got home and put our receipt away and do not see gratuity on our check. I am now questioning if it was added or not? Check 137 is my receipt number. Please send my sincere apologies if not. And also stress the importance of servers, not greeters sharing the gratuity rule to be sure it is applicable. We had multiple checks and wonder if this caused issues.
Best staff, best food, best margaritas! We drive two hours from Illinois to enjoy the chill atmosphere & great food. Never had a bad experience ever. Highly recommend.
You've likely been to many restaurants trying to set themselves apart. You've likely had fabulous experiences at many a fine dining establishment. You probably even have a "favorite" or a "go-to" spot.
Now hear this, fellow restaurant patrons. A recalibration of your standards is now in order.
It starts, as every dining experience does, with location. Is it too far to drive? No. Mission Taco Soulard is a DESTINATION. Go out of your way.
Next, hows the parking? Fabulous. Just park anywhere, it's Soulard.
The hostess? Lovely, her name might be Jocelyn if you're lucky; and yes, she helps maintain an immaculately clean establishment.
Then you'lll speak with a server or bartender, probably a manager as well, and if you're lucky even a cook!
They're all great. Hugh, Jada, Alec, Jon, Kyle, or Ally, just to name a few. There are standards for service and you WILL NOT find a better, more cohesive, friendly, helpful team at ANY bar or restaurant. I promise you that.
These people set the standard for quality.
Now let's talk about the food...
Get anything. Get everything. It'll come out fast, in the right order, and with beverages aplenty.
The Tacos are obviously the star of the show, however, having tried every single item on the menu, I can assure you there are no dishes that lack in taste or quality. I would steer a newcomer especially towards the tortas and the appetizers. But good luck not ordering a taco, they are scrumpdiddlyumptious.
Listen to your heart when selecting, it will never lead you astray.
And if the people, the location, the ambiance, and the flavors weren't enough, let us now mention the true gold standard, the top of the mountain, the value added, the wheat separated from the chaff....
The CONSISTENCY!
..In attitude
..In quality
..In service
..In presentation
..In taste
..In time
..In experience.
The consistency is unmatched. And it starts with the people.
This restaurant has an identity.
So, in conclusion, set aside your biases, your preferences, your tastes, and your previously held standards for excellence. Just come on in to Mission Taco Soulard and have a fool-proof great experience as many times as you can afford.
And then tip those guys and gals something ridiculous. Be dumb. Be stupid. Make POOR FINANCIAL DECISIONS BASED ON THE QUALITY OF SERVICE RARELY FOUND IN THESE PARTS! Do the right thing.
I'll see yall there next Tuesday.
Good offerings, fresh ingredients, and excellent service make this a sound choice. The setting is bright and lively, and -- I probably don't mention this enough in reviews -- it was super clean. Staff were busy from taking orders to mixing drinks, delivering food to washing tables to make sure your visit isn't sullied by a dirty table.
Great food. Service was great. On top of it. Very reasonable
Prices they had plantbased tacos among others. The portabello mushroom taco was great
Great amazing food drinks and atmosphere! Came here about five years ago and then visited st Louis again 6.11.22 and still loved it. The BBQ Duck taco is my favorite alongside Baja Fish. The side of Off The Cob Corn and Rice was also fantastic. They have amazingly tasty and colorful drinks for everyone.
My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant and just had to try it! It was definitely a WINNER!!! This was one of my favorite taco experiences! I loved the tacos and the drinks. The salsa wasn’t very chunky and was blended well which is how I like mine. The tacos was phenomenal! The mango one was my favorite. It’s a must try if you are in the area!
We ordered the beef empanadas and fried chicken tacos. Both of them are delicious. Recommended.
Mission Taco in the Soulard neighborhood is definitely a place you don't want to sleep on if you are looking for delicious street tacos and Mexican cuisine. The menu includes various street taco options, including meat, seafood, and vegetarian. Additionally, you can get your burrito smothered in queso, and if you are looking for shareable, there are numerous appetizers to choose from. The drink and cocktail menu includes various well-priced beverages, including margaritas, seasonal cocktails, and beers.
One highlight of this Mission Taco location is that it is right around the corner from International Tap House, so you can get your tacos to go and then take them next door to enjoy them with a sports game.
Great place for Tacos and I hear the burritos are great also. You get to pick multiple different tacos off a large menu. Walking distance from the office, so we like heading there for lunch. Highly recommended.
I've heard much about Mission Taco and it's great. It's good food and good vibes. Got the shrimp taco, fish taco, and their seasonal special the calamari taco. By far my favorite was the calamari taco. I loved the kimchi dressing and sauce they used in that one. Very much see why it's good and it's an affordable meal. I think for those 3 tacos are below $13 before tax.
Easily the best burrito I have ever had. The rice, the cheese, the chicken and it's perfectly smokey flavor wrapped in a crispy toasty tortilla. I was in heaven for just a little while. The building beas cool, laid back, fun, cool bar. Staff was friendly, little rushed but understandable for lunch hour. I'm not an adventurous eater, but I dove into this thing face first and I don't regret a thing....
The food we had was pretty good, especially the guacamole. A little disappointed that the place was advertised as vegan friendly, however, there were only a couple of vegan options on the menu. Also felt like my carne asada was overdone. I didn't have a beer but they had a lot of interesting options on the menu.
