Review Trattoria Marcella - Saint Louis

Hard to get a table during busy season, definitely need a reservation. Then closed patio and bar is first come first serve. This is Italian, food is amazing. My girlfriend had the lasagna which I thoroughly enjoyed :-) And I had to grilled tenderloin. Medium rare, it was cooked perfect and served atop whipped potatoes. We sat at the bar, bartender was non-stop fulfilling drink orders all night, that bar was extremely busy. But, service was still very responsive. We had wine, several cocktails. Was not surprised by $130 ($26 tip $156 total) bill.

This place was absolutely amazing. We tried a range of dishes due to dining with a group of 7 and everyone sharing bites of different things. At the end, the lasagna and rigatoni were the best part. The staff was really nice and helpful. I think the only thing that was even a bother was that the tables were a little close therefore the restaurant was loud due to some loud tables next to us. But after they left we could heard each other and it was very pleasant.

Went to this wonderful Italian restaurant for a holiday party and we had a small private party room that fit our group wonderfully. Our waiter who was assigned to our group did a fantastic job taking care of us. He shared the list of specials they had for the evening and answered any questions that we had. The food was amazing. I enjoyed the Chicken Spiedini and we shared an order of Lobster Risotto which was amazing too. The portion size was enough to take some of both dishes home and enjoy the next day. It was an overall great meal and will go back and enjoy other dishes from the menu. Several others with our group enjoyed the Lasagna and they commented on how delicious that dish was as well. Highly recommend for a dinner date night or special occasion.

The service was superb. They do an excellent job of making sure that you are taken care of and the entire staff was very friendly. I like the feel of the place and thought that the overall atmosphere was pleasant. Homemade Toasted Ravioli- these are the best thing I tried there. They may be the vested toasted ravs you can find. 5/5 Lobster Risotto- Unfortunately I just did not love this. It seems that a lot of people do, but it might have been because I was expecting something different. I did not like the sauce which was my big hang up. I do not know what it was exactly but the red sauce seemed lackluster. 3/5 Spinach Ziti- the pasta was cooked perfectly. Liked the sauce, but felt it might have been improved with a little heat. Though I like it a little spicy in general. 4/5

We enjoyed dinner for my husband’s birthday at Trattoria Marcella. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer and I also had a delicious, lemony shaved brussel sprout salad. Our entrees were the rigatoni and straws and hay. Both were great! I had to order tiramisu for dessert and it did not disappoint. The service was fabulous! Our server was very attentive, fast, and knowledgeable. Will be back!

I really liked this place. Good food, service and atmosphere. The toasted raviolis were very good. The Cesar salad was good, but a bit salty…..probably because of the anchovies. I had the rigatoni which was tasty. I also tasted the lobster risotto which was good, the spinach sausage pasta, also good and the spaghetti and meatballs Nothing bad here. My Negroni was well made.

Delicious food. Toasted ravioli were huge but much lighter than you'd expect. Service was fantastic. Unfortunately, it was an extremely hot day, and our party was seated in an area that didn't appear to have a working AC.

This place was exceptional in every way Seated fast after arriving early for a reservation. Fast and polite service. Delicious food. Toasted ravioli were the best I’ve ever had. They were huge and packed with meat. The Rigatoni was one of the best pastas I’ve eaten. Had tiramisu desert which was as light and fluffy as can be. Total bill for an appetizer, two pastas, and deserts with tip was $104. 5/5

A truly phenomenal foodie experience, on the hill in St Louis. Epic cuisine, starting with a toasted ravioli, and including their fabulous lasagna, and homemade tiramisu. Absolutely worth going to again and again.

This is one of my favorite places in St. Louis. Great food, drinks and desserts. Never had a bad meal or experience here. Even in the middle of the week, this place has a lot of traffic. I usually get the Hay and Straw, but have had other dishes there. Great for a date night, or family dinner.
