I had a wonderful lunch with family at Sybill's to celebrate my birthday. It will now be my "go to" place for celebrations because everything about the experience was a delight. From appetizer, to soup, to main course, to dessert, everything was delicious. It was a comfortable, relaxing setting with nice décor and friendly staff. I highly recommend it!
Lovely atmosphere and excellent service!!! Everything we ordered was amazing from the fresh baked baguette with olive oil, Parmesan and Basalmic Dipping plate to our salads, sandwiches and tasty buffalo fries—perfection! We splurged on the coconut creme pie with was to die for and the Baileys flight coffee trio! We will definitely go back and don’t forget to visit the amazing gift shop!
We attended this on Tuesday evening: Napa Valley Winery, Cliff Lede & Sybill's Saint James hosting a fantastic wine dinner.
Both the winery and Sybil's did an awesome job. The food and wine pairings were perfect.
You can never go wrong eating at Sybil's. I highly recommend it.
The entire experience was awesome and beyond what I expected! Food was amazing! Cocktails very good and the staff and owner were all beyond lovely! I would highly recommend!
This is my all time favorite place to eat. The food is amazing. The service is top notch. We love it for lunch or dinner. We recently had a luncheon for parents 50th wedding anniversary there. Sybill and the staff could not have been more accommodating.
Phenomenal!!! It is worth driving a ways for and worth the price for the service and quality you get.
Great place, food, service, atmosphere all was exceptionally good had a chance to meet Sybill, what a sweet person, loved everything about this place a must try for everyone will definitely be going back!
The place is a rather elegant place to eat, and the food was tasty.
One of the best places to eat in the state!

My husband and I eat here all the time. We love it! Courteous staff, awesome atmosphere and excellent food. Truly is a great little place for fine dining.
No reservation for an unplanned Christmas lunch but Jan got us a table within 30 minutes despite the huge crowd of Christmas parties! Lunch was fabulous, as always!
Food was wonderful, the venue was decorated beautifully. It made our lunch with dear friends even more special. Can't wait to go back, eat again and visit the gift shop.
My Husband and I love Sybil's. Wonderful food, staff, and atmosphere! We love Sybil's so much that we had our wedding at Sybil's! All of our guests raved the restaurant. We go back as much as possible. One of the most elegant and delicious restaurants in Missouri!
We were heading to St James and stopped there for lunch on a whim. It was wonderful. They have the best quiche I've ever had. The atmosphere and service was great ! Will definitely go back!
Found it by accident, what a surprise!. I stumbled on Sybill's one night en route to Springfield, MO. I ate in the bar, which was elegant and well run. The bartendress was friendly and efficient. I had a couple of lobster bisque and a tilapia dinner that were both excellent. Just be careful, as I was leaving a bus was unloading and a huge flock of people came in. It's THAT popular!
So nice. The food was great, the service great, and of course the ambiance was very nice also. Enjoyed the gift shop as well.
Excellent mahi mahi and German chocolate gooey butter cake. An oasis in the middle of Missouri.
Best food period. Good luck finding a high quality dining experience better than this in the St. James area. My last visit I came in looking nearly as rough as a homeless man. I was moving some equipment to St. Louis and needed to eat. I typically only patronize higher quality food venues and restaurants though.... I had my reservations about going here because I looked like a transient.
I through caution to the wind though. I went in and because of my looks I guess I surprised the hostess because she asked me what I needed... funny stuff. Once I told her I was there to eat, I was treated as any other customer. That felt nice. The waitress was very attentive and helpful in my decisions to what I ate. I had appetizers, wine, and a main course and I had no complaints. The place is very clean with an upscale décor.
Because they treated me (looking like I only had pennies to my name) with the highest respect, I continue to recommend them to people traveling route 66. Thanks for the good work.
Delicious as usual! Here for lunch today and enjoyed the tilapia special! This is my favorite place - it never disappoints!
Lunch, dinner, breakfast on sunday. I have been there for all 3, and have loved all three menus, but have not taken the time to write reviews and decided it was time. Yummy, yummy, yummy! Everything on the menu is delicious, served properly and with care! The coffee is the best and is prompt (important to us) Always welcomed with a warm greeting, comfortable setting, no matter if traveling and in comfortable clothing or dressed up for a special occasion. What a pleasant experience, which dining should always be!!!!
Best Restaurant For Miles. Sybill's is a fantastic restaurant. Superior food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere make this the best restaurant for miles around. I would recommend it to anyone in the area!
Just had the mahi mahi last night. Amazing!
Delightful. As we traveled from central IL to our vacation destination in MO we searched the Internet for a spot for dinner. We found Sybill's and decided to try it because of all the wonderful reviews. It was easy to find. As we pulled up it was beautiful with a country setting. We did not have a reservation but the hostess offered us seating at the bar or outside on the front porch. We found it to be very clean. We chose the front porch and had a wonderful view. Our waitress was very informative and friendly. We found there to be lots of choices including beef, chicken, pasta and seafood. The salads were generous and fresh. Our entrees were all wonderful with good flavor, fresh ingredients and nicely prepared and presented. Thanks for a great experience, we look forward to coming back.
Best restaurant in the area hands down. Had the NY strip and it was done to perfection. Great food, outstanding service, and wonderful atmosphere. My only regret is not coming here sooner.
Exceptional. Great food, pleasant servers, and personal treatment by the name sake owner is fantastic. A must visit!
Amazing!. Not only is this restaurant decorated beautifully, the food is outstanding, as well as the service. You can't ask for more in a dining experience. We were there for lunch and plan on making this a habit when traveling through town. I had the lobster and shrimp bisque and my hubbie had the clam chowder. Both were full of meat which is not the case in most of our experiences. Very creamy and seasoned perfectly. We couldn't decide which was best because they were both perfect. My spinach salad with warm bacon dressing was very good as was my husbands' sloppy joe with cheese. Yes, I said sloppy joe. Who would have thought that this would be great, but it was not your ordinary joe. My husband asked for whole horseradish to finish it out and it was really great. We then splint an order of German Chocolate gooey butter cake with ice cream and caramel sauce...OMG! Need I say more. I can only imagine what dinner is like. I would seriously consider booking a motel room nearby just to have an evening meal there. Wish this restaurant was closer to my home. This one beats any fine dining experience we have had in St. Louis, Kansas City, or anywhere . Hope it never changes.
Finally, Rolla gets a classy place for those extra special occasions...in St James! Anybody who complains about high prices hasn't ordered the same quality food on either coast. Sybill's is giving you that Los Angeles/New York quality at $10 less per plate. All this in a classy but down to earth atmosphere that isn't as pretentious as the west or east coast.
Looking for the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or just have a casual dinner-Sybils St James is your spot. Enjoyed by patrons from outside areas and the locals this restaurant offers everything you expect and deserve in fine dining! You won't regret pulling up a chair at this restaurant. Once you go you will always feel at home and return visits will be on your to do list.

Loved every bite! An exceptionally pleasant experience from the lobster Rangoon to the German chocolate gooey butter cake! Our entrees were the chicken caprese and the pecan encrusted mahi. Perfect! We were traveling thru the area and found a gem! We will be back!!!
Great!. A great dining experience in a place that makes you feel at home. Superior food and atmosphere. Sybill's is at the top of my list.
Very Nice!. My husband and I had some business to do in Saint James and decided to try out Sybill's for dinner. It was excellent! I had the Chicken Genovese, and it was deliscious. The Chipotle Chocolate Creme Brulee was almost too good to believe. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. And on top of it all, despite being a rather fancy place, no one seemed to mind our jeans and sweatshirts.
We chose this restaurant for our special celebration dinner with our son who just graduated from Army bootcamp and combat engineering school. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We could not have picked a better place for such an occasion.
What a great experience. It proves that you can have a fine dining experience outside of the "big cities".
Very creative and amazing food. The caliber of fusion going on in this menu is remarkeable for mid missouri, yet it is still very relaxed. The owner is very friendly and loves to be out on the floor. Which is something i can apprieciate. We made our valentines day reservations for dinner here. Enough said.
Fantastic!. This is one of the best resturants I've been to. It is easily the best one from here to St. Louis. The atmosphere is exceptional and the waiters are superb. Sybill has created a fantastic menu and wine selection. Don't forget to viist the gift shop after enjoying your fine dining experience. It is just a beautiful all round experience.
Incredible. My husband and I were referred to Sybill's by Sue at the Days Inn in St. James on Saturday. I called for reservations, "a quiet table" was all I requested. I cannot explain the most amazing dinner and ambiance we enjoyed there. Columbia has 1-4 star restaurant, but this was incredible. I had the Beef Wellington, with grilled Aspargus, Italian Salad, my husband, the total opposite of a vegetarian-had the cottage cheese, 16 oz. Sirloin, and the Dutchess Potatoes. I can honestly say, I would drive back to St. James JUST to enjoy this establishment, Brett our waiter was wonderful, and for a mamma of 6 who cooks all the time, I greatly enjoyed our QUIET night out! A very special treat for us both! Food and service at a 5+STARS in MY book!!
Good!. Everything is great; the food, service and decor. The only downside is they are slow at getting food out.
Absolutely awesome!! My favorite place to go ... Sybil is always coming up with great surprises!!!
Best Around. Great service, great food! My favorite restaurant. I've never had a bad meal and nothing less than impeccable service at this restaurant. I can't wait to go again!
Best restaurant within 50 miles. Sybill's is easily the best restaurant within 50 miles! Great food and the staff is outstanding. The antiques in the restaurant are all for sale and provides a wonderful ambiance.
The food is nothing short of spectacular! The atmosphere is great and the service is excellent! Always greeted with a smile from Sybill herself! Will always come back for more! I recommend this place to anyone. The food is pricey but well worth it!
Thrilled to have such an upscale restaurant nearby...finally. Tasty menu, beautiful ambience, impeccable service. Thanks!
Fine Dining. Unusual for the area, this is a formal, fine dining restaurant. Food is easily the best in town. Not cheap, though certainly not city prices. All around, sets the standard for the area.
Food was amazing. I had Surf and Turf, seafood pasta. Service could have been more attentive but I don't know if there was a larger crowd in the other room. I expect the service to reflect the prices; for example, If I'm paying $50/person, I need my water refilled when it gets low. I had to ask another server 2xs for something. I enjoyed my pasta tremendously and the ambiance was delightful. I will definitely visit again when the holidays are over.
In town on vacation. Did a search and found Sybill’s had all five star reviews so we headed that way. They clinched it with their dog-friendly seating on the porch.
Great food and a great environment. Highly recommended!
Excellent service and food. The Lobster Rangoon was so flavorful and the Salmon was cooked perfectly - not dry.
I was recommended this place and was not disappointed. Beautifully decorated, nice staff and great food! If I'm ever in St James again, I will definitely come back. I highly recommend. If you are looking for cheap pricing, cheap quality food, this is not the place for you. I've always been told by my dad, *you pay for what you get* I don't mind paying for good food! They also have a cute little boutique store with novelty items for sale and beautiful paintings.
Started with the Flash Fried Italian Ouster Mushrooms which had a light thin crisp coating. They were so meaty, seemed very much like pieces of white chicken. Very flavorful, although I would request a lower salt version. Then my wife and I both had the Strawberry Avocado Spinach Salad. She with Blackened Salmon and I with blackened shrimp, we agreed both were delicious. The Beers were ice cold and nominally priced. Hint ask for the Bread, served by request only. Great Time relaxing on the porch, great service. Can be Fancy, or can be Casual, it’s really up to you.
One of my new favorite places, and one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I ordered a chicken dish that featured creamed spinach, mushrooms, and artichokes. Fresh bread and butter while your meal.is prepared. Beautiful porch with seating should you find yourself waiting for a table. Very classy and beautiful decor. Ample parking and a gift shop featuring jewelry, specialty items, and home decor. It's a beautiful drive there from Jefferson City.
First time at Dybills today. Very nice, food and service was good. However be careful of specials. They do not give prices. I was taken back that my lunch main small half a pitta with braised steak, spinach and feta cheese was $18.00, when I was asked if I wanted soup or salad, found out when Bill came an additional $2.00. I ordered a bread pudding desert to go. Another stick when I got home a found out I paid $9.00 for a 1 inch square piece of bread pudding. I am not opposed to paying good money for a nice rest, but for lunch a little pricey.
