Jakes Old City Grill

Lovely place! Everyone is very friendly and the food was phenomenal. I got the steak and lobster 🦞 (but the potatoes were 😘👌 fantastic) we had a party of 12 for my husband's birthday and everything went swell! They refrigerated our cookie cakes until we were ready to serve them and even gave my husband a Jake's glass ☺

We were in town visiting family and we went to Jake's for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. Our server Ben was outstanding! We had such a great experience. Jake came by and checked on us several times during our visit. We are big beer drinkers. Jake had an awesome selection of beer. Overall I can't say enough about our experience. It was simply wonderful. Highly recommend checking Jake's out if your in town visiting or a local.

My buddy wanted to go to Jake's for his birthday dinner, and man, did he make a good choice. Between the 7 of us, there was not one complaint about the food. The french dip sandwich was the best french dip sandwich I've ever had. Super delicious. The atmosphere was really nice, and our server was terrific. The entire restaurant is very impressive. Highly recommend if you'd like something a bit different yet still would like to go somewhere "nice".

We came to celebrate, have a nice dinner n champagne toast after our wedding at the courthouse. They had just opened n our party of 8 were the only patrons at the time. 1st the staff had a bit of an attitude when we informed them upon arrival that we added 2 more guests to our reservation. Then the waitstaff forgot abt us once there were other tables n didn't remove our empty plates. I also had to remind him to refill our champagne. Lastly, the owner came over to congratulate us n then proceed to tell us we had to be out by 6. Which was 2hours after our reservation n we were early. I saw no need to explain how another party had reservations after us. The reservation was 2+ hours from the time we arrived AND we ordered mostly apps n 2 dinners. We clearly were in our formal wedding attire celebrating our special day. So his not so subtle notice of reservations after us was far from the best etiquette. Although, the restaurant is beautiful everything else not so much.Overall it was less than desirable n I anticipated better.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is very classy, and the menu has a wide variety of choices, from sandwiches, burgers, pasta and salads, to seafood, pork chops, and steaks. Their cocktails are delightful. I ordered the land and sea entrée, and it was outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection. The red skinned potatoes were absolutely delicious. Our waiter had an incredible memory and was very funny. We had a wonderful time.

I don't have enough good to say about Jake's Old City Grill and specifically the owner, Paul. My husband and I moved our wedding up with less than a month to plan after unfortunately learning about a very unexpected and serious health condition of a loved one. We moved the wedding from Massachusetts to a backyard in Saginaw, and I reached out to Jake's two weeks prior to the wedding to inquire about catering the event. The food was absolutely spectacular and the customer service was astounding. Our families could not stop raving about how delicious every dish was, and everything tasted just like we were eating it in a restaurant. I cannot recommend Jake's more highly; Paul's professionalism, flexibility, knowledge, and high quality product were more than we could ever have hoped for. He was so thoughtful about the food preparation and presentation, and he clearly takes pride in his product. 10/10 experience; we highly recommend Jake's!

My wife and I had dinner with another couple. The food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed there meal, we had the steak bite appetizer they melted in our mouths. My friend ordered the pork chops they were so tender the meat fell off the bone. We also ordered desert and that was fantastic. I will definitely be going back. Remember also this is a high end place. If want to impress your date or our wife this is the place. Very cool atmosphere.

You have to have a burger here. Best place I've ate in Saginaw. Top 5 in Michigan. Cook the burger to exactly how you order it. Wedge salad is on point. Drink are strong and taste perfect. Servers are the front line to this. The cooks be bombing your taste buds from the back. Matt you rocked brother.
