The guy working was very cool and helpful.
The food was correct & BOMB.
We ordered 3 wings 3 legs 3 thighs
(wish I would have chose the 10 wings because they were sooo good)
also snapper, catfish, shrimp, fries and yummy fried zucchini!
The batter crispy & delicious/ perfect amount of cornmeal!
Lots of dipping sauce which I appreciated!
If you’ve never been its time YOU GO!
Next time I will try one of the desserts in that display case! And one of the lemonades..
It had been 2 yrs since I’ve eaten here will definitely return soon!

I have not been to JJ's since I moved and I just went last night; Food was delicious and very good. Reminds me of the last time I went. I am no longer in the area but there are no good quality tasting fish n chips in our area. I drove last night and do not regret the drive for good quality food. This is a must stop fish n chip place to go to. If you have never tried JJ's please give them a try. You will be a loyal customer. Best Fish n Chips in Sacramento. Door dash was in and out of that place it was Poppin.

Everything was delicious!! Especially the red velvet cupcake . It reminded me of growing up in Oakland and a home cooked meal. & I loveeeeeeeeeeee pickles and they sell big huge one here. I plan to keep coming back for the pickles most definitely and when I have some cheat days from my diet, definitely going to come here!!!

This place isn't so bad. There chicken strips are really good and still fresh and hot when I got home but there fries wasn't the best. It's not the worst either I just wish the fries were fresh since it tasted pretty old and super crunchy and kinda hard. This place seems like it's super understaffed as well. I tried calling them twice but never even answered. And when I got there to place an order I only noticed 2 people were working and after I placed my order they said it would take 20 minutes when it seem like it was very slow there and not much orders ahead of mine. But other than that the chicken were like a 8/10 and the fries are like maybe a 4/10 lol price for my small chicken tender meal was about 14 dollars

Gumbo version is very tasty , red beans and rice also . Fried zucchini was just right as was the pistachio cake .

Came here for lunch today. I ordered a 2 item piece combo. Got the chicken tenders and catfish nuggets. I’d probably go for the catfish fillet next time. It came out to $15 and change for 3 chicken tenders, the catfish nuggets and some fries.
The service was good and it seemed like a clean place with inside and outside seating.

I wrote a bad blog about JJ's, not being black and profiting in a black neighborhood off black people. I retract that message. The people have excellent customer service, and great food. I really miss their restaurant being open. I hope they open soon here in Sacramento again and, I would be one of their best customer. Again I apologize.

Fish or chicken?. I had a very good experience at the jj fish/chicken here in our beloved Sacramento area. If you happen to be in the south area of town and are tired of the usual definitely stop in for their Gumbo and the catfish fillet.

I love Jjs fish the catfish nuggets are my favorite and there shrimp only thing I dislike is the red snapper it's very dry and has no flavor other then that great restaurant I recommend

Terrible! I was very disappointed in the whole experience. No flavor on Snapper and Shrimp. Please, a beg of you. Don't go to JJ's. A filet fish from McDonalds taste better.

The best fish in sacramento. I have been coming here since they opened and it is always a pleasure. i love the catfish, and the red velvet is to die for i recommend this place to anyone they get well over 500 customers a day says one of the cashiers so that tells you something there. i thank them for coming to sacramento every time i go...

Worst fried food ever. After seeing commercials for this place for months, then driving by it one day on my way to a store in south sac, I was excited to finally try this place out. Much to my dissapointment, this was the worst food I have ever had. I got the chicken tender meal. The chicken was very dry and the breading was awful! Not to mentoin, it tasted as though the oil it was fired in was months old. My friend ordered the orange roughy and shrimp meal (from the recommendation of the cashier) which was equally awful. The tartar sace, hot sauce and ranch (yes, I know it is very hard to mess up ranch dressing) was terrible. I don't know how this place even stays in business. After being excited to finally try it and ready to recommend it to my friends I would have to say this was the worst meal I have ever had. Luckily for me, I have 2 large dogs that will thoroughly enjoy eating the large portions that we had leftover....but then again, they do eat poop off he ground.
