I tried the horchata cold brew and a regular coffee with one of their pastries. The cold brew was super yummy! Lots of cinnamon flavor. The coffee isn't anything unique, just coffee. The service is pretty fast and friendly. Lots of people come and dine in, others like myself take theirs to go.
Given the harshness of the world, the seemingly inevitable economic and ecological collapse, and the propagation of endless conspiracy theories in an incredibly divisive country, finding a charming cup of coffee served by nice people in a good atmosphere feels almost spiritual. Every single member on staff here is so kind and giving. It makes you want to go out and figure out how you, too, can give back to your community. It's just coffee. But also it's so much more. The interior is beyond beautiful and cute. The coffee is delicious. Very positive vibes! 20/10 would Camellia again!
My favorite coffee shop in Sacramento for sure! Definitely helps that they have the BEST breakfast sandwich I've had too!
I enjoy coming here for their horchata cold brew with oat milk. I've had it so many times now, that I believe I've found the perfect fit. The horchata cold brew is already pre-made, and for my taste buds, it is a bit too sweet. My perfect combo is 3/4 of the horchata cold brew, and the rest of the 1/4 to be filled with their standard cold brew. Definitely cuts the sweetness out!
Now comes the breakfast sandwich. It does take awhile for them to make it (especially if they are busy), but it is always SO good. The sandwich comes with a two-egg omelette, cheese, scallions, cholula spread, on brioche bun with your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, or veggie). I've had them both and I've them both in one!
Only downside is there is limited indoor seating, and there are no outlets available.
Otherwise, this is my go-to spot. Every time I'm in Sacramento, this is a MUST for the morning or a good afternoon pick me up for the drive back down to the bay.
Street parking only. See you soon Camellia's!
Easily the best coffee/breakfast spot I’ve ever visited. Staff is very friendly, coffee and food is of the best quality, and it isn’t over priced. Love it here. 5/5.
This is a great cafe! I'm big into craft/3rd wave/specialty coffee and Camellia does not disappoint. The atmosphere is fun with ample seating, which is good as they tend to be pretty busy attracting clientele from every walk of life. IMPORTANT PRO TIP: hit them up before 1pm on a Wednesday. They have a special where you get a melt-in-your-mouth breakfast sandwich with either a drip or coldbrew coffee for about $11! Kitchen closes at 1, so keep that in mind.
Came in on a Wednesday morning
We got a iced horchata latte with oat milk, a bacon breakfast sandwich, and a horchata croissant.
LOVED the horchata latte, absolutely a must get! The breakfast sandwich was really good although they were very heavy handed with the pepper (you can see dark spots on the sandwich from all the pepper). Unfortunately I didn’t care for the horchata croissant. It had a hard crunchy exterior with a thick cinnamon inside. It was overly sweet for me and I prefer a softer croissant. I’ll stick to the horchata latte and the breakfast sandwich. Definitely will be back!
Delicious oat milk cappuccinos this morning, great music and space. Pet friendly outdoor seating!
I had a great time here. Line was really long but coffee came out promptly. Their espresso is one of the best I've tasted in the area filled with specialty coffee. They serve Faria Bakery goods, got the almond croissant and it was delicious. Highly recommend! No indoor seating atm though.
Easily the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. The brioche bun was sweet, crispy, and soft. The veggie filled egg omelette inside was amazing. The mocha was not too sweet and not bitter at all. Amazing coffee and amazing food.
Came here around 8:30 on a Saturday morning. Was lucky enough to have come before the crowd & was served rather quickly. The staff was welcoming and efficient. I ordered the sausage breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint. The eggs were cooked perfectly & the bread was nice and soft. Great flavors & was the perfect amount of food— not too much that I’m overstuffed & not so little that I’m still hungry after. The oatmilk horchata was sweet but not too sweet. The atmosphere was great as well— they had lo-fi music playing; the art, plants, and subway tile tables were comforting & nice to look at. Great place to come by any day of the week. Looking forward to my next visit already!
