Review Giovanni's Old World New York Pizzeria - Sacramento

Such good pizza prepared by cooks who don’t care apparently. It’s so frustrating. This time pizza is ice cold and missing half the cheese. How hard is it to care? We’ve tried it a couple times more in hopes it will be better. I must give credit where credit is due and modify my score somewhat. The last pizza was absolutely perfect. Not burned, fresh ingredients that were evenly distributed. Someone obviously cared this time.

4 stars for the price and 5 stars for taste. I ordered a salad and 2 pizzas, 1 ny style and 1 thin crust. I loved it all. The salad dressings I got were delicious, DELICIOUS. Just from this experience alone, i know i will be ordering their salads frequently. As far as the pizza goes, its expensive. Its good but pricey. For 2 pizzas and a salad i paid 77 and some change. Again, pricey, for me anyway. The crust was good, the ingredients tasted fresh and I look forward to trying other menu items. Lastly, customer service was good. I received greetings/smiles from both staff members there.

Their pizza is incredible and absolutely worth the price and wait. I'd highly recommend everything we got.

I've had New York pizza in a dozen little New York joints and this place is pretty good. The pie was good sized and good for a California pizza. A little pricey, but I'd eat there again.

came to this pizzeria last may and have been dreaming about it ever since. i actually first stumbled here because of work, but came back on a weekend we caught some rivercats baseball. anyway, this is my first time leaving a review but i want to because this place was *THAT* good! for people complaining about service and/or doordash, don't be fooled by a rare occurrence or doordash's mishandling of everything (seriously, don't use doordash... ever). i've been to new york AND i've had a lot of pizza in my life. i can honestly say this is both the closest pizza to new york and probably the best pizza i've ever had. the crust, the sauce, the sausage, the cheese... everything just worked so harmoniously well together. this is what pizza is all about. we also had their meatballs and i had a calzone/stromboli. the meatballs were insanely good and the foldover was great, too, but the real hallmark here is the pizza. the atmosphere here is reminiscent of what old school pizza places used to feel like (i'm a 90s kid). you could pack a whole party in here or just come by yourself, whatever works for you. it has the vibe of a mom & pop and i just hope they are doing well in the pandemic. this whole shopping center is on the older side so please patron these wonderful people!!!!!! i'm from the bay area and will be heading to sacramento this weekend, you bet anytime i'm even remotely close to the area i'm stopping by. i can't wait to go again!!!!!

Fantastic pizza. Crust was excellent especially for a delivery pie.

This is the Land Park area right off of Fruitridge Rd. It is next to the Post Office and on the other side is Florez Bar n Grill, a Mexican restaurant. Very tasty New York style pizza served here. Room for large groups or parties. Plenty of parking outside.

Awesomely great pizza!! My husband googled best pizza in Sacramento and several pizza places came up this one is most definitely our favorite!! Today we wanted to add to our normal order, which is a medium pepperoni and sausage, we ordered a Stromboli. It needed a bit more cooking, the cheese wasn’t melted, but next time we’re thinking of eating at Giovanni’s to have totally fresh hot pizza! I would definitely recommend to eat at Giovanni’s!!

We dined in on a Monday around 545pm, ordered a salad and medium pizza. It took about 15-20 minutes for the pizza to be ready, and they brought the salad to us. Everything was tasty! Only downside was they could only find one fork to give us, so we just ate the salad with our fingers.

I don't know how this place is not rated five stars!!!!! Just based on the pizza alone, I mean, WOW!!! It's a mystery as to why this whole plaza is not packed. I got half pesto pizza, half festa di italia. I know the prices are a bit higher, but I think the quality of the ingredients is just through the roof! On the pesto pizza, you get slices of tomato, and those slices were delicious. You know how store bought tomatoes can just seem like vessels of red water? These guys had actual flavor! Oh my goodness, and the olive oil... Personally, I kind of love the dependable emptiness of the space. I enjoy eating with my friends and feeling like we have some space to ourselves.

The pizza here is soooooooo fire. I crave it. Thin, crispy, chewy, salty, cheesy. Everything you want in a good slice. I wish it wasn't so far from me!!

Good Quality Pizza!! Have been coming to this location for over 10 years now. I no longer live in the Greenhaven neighborhood anymore, but will go out of my way to stop in every now and then to grab a delicious pie from this location. The crust is chewy with a good flavor to it, sauce is not overwhelming, and the toppings taste like quality ingredients. I like how the staff will accommodate special requests. The place usually is clean and has plenty of seating. Definitely my favorite pizzeria in all of the Sacramento area!!

I came here for lunch and it was pretty quiet. I had the two slice lunch special, which was a good deal. I chose a slice of pesto and a Sicilian pepperoni. I liked the pesto slice better.

Pizza, the traditional way. Great calzones as well, meat and cheese like they are supposed to be, not all of the trendy flavors of the month. This is traditional New York style pizza. So happy I found this place.

Meh. Located at the old JFK bingo hall site. I was not impressed with the pizza, staff or restaurant. huge dining hall, plenty of room for your sports teams functions. plenty of parking. bland, tasteless doughey crust and skimpy toppings. this did not taste like a New York pizza to me. disappointing.
