The Original Mels Diner - Sacramento - Photo album

great spot to eat before a concert at Ace of Spades! it isn’t too far from the venue and has a very cute, retro look to it. the food was just okay to me personally, but my boyfriend liked it more than i did—hash browns were soggy and the omelette i ordered didn’t taste like much, but i think the con
I went there after walking around the park, which was located just a few blocks away. The atmosphere was fun and every worker was very nice. Food came out pretty fast and they made sure my coffee cup was full. I had an avocado breakfast burrito and it was pretty good. Just wished the portion size w
Fun diner spot just outside midtown. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and felt welcomed. The atmosphere and decor matched the 50's diner theme and the jukebox was a great detailed touch. The food was a tad on the saltier side if you're sensitive. The portions are smaller than your regular
We were told that this is the original Mel’s Diner. This diner definitely has character and pizazz! Imagine you stepped foot into a 1950’s, Grease kind of film set. That type of setting is where Mel’s Diner found it’s niche. The food is very good. It comes out hot and fresh! And if you are feeling u
Most the time there's no parking because it's very popular. Might run into a few transients while getting out of your car & walking to the door. It's usually packed inside, but the waiters are still great - always checking up and serving the food as fast as possible with a friendly attitude. Lots o
Just in town visiting stopped here for two different breakfasts, both were excellent. Service was excellent. Been in business since 1947, decor reflects that, in a good way. Definitely will be back.
This is our second time with Mel's and first at this location. We obviously came back as we were very impressed with the 50s dining theme, and superb service ( Our first visit was to Folsom location). However, this time the overall experience seemed slightly off. The wait was about 25 min on regula
The food was decent and the waiter was always respectful and present. I'd come back again.
6 of us stopped in for dinner. It was our first time. We all ordered something different, and none were disappointed. The food was excellent. The service was great, and the atmosphere, well it did take me back in time a bit. Overall great experience! Highly recommened.
We found this restaurant via google search. Nice 50's theme service with a smile. The only issue was that the server gave us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. We were going to enjoy some shakes, but we felt that it was the server's way of telling us it was time to go. Their kids m
Celebrated my niece and nephew's birthday. They didn't have any banana split ice cream but made them sundaes. Our server Hunter was great! Food was good however I was hoping it would be amazing than it really was or what I had hoped it to be.
Mel's Diner was pretty cute although they seemed to be strikingly understaffed the night I visited. Our server was the only one in front of house, doing double duty as both waiter and host. Despite this hefty task, he was still respectful, efficient and polite to my husband and myself. I noticed
I've always loved the food here. Corned beef hash, sandwiches, burgers, fries . . . Everything that I've tried, I have loved. This time I ordered the seafood combo with Alaskan cod, shrimp and fries. It is good! $14.99 isn't bad for a filling meal. Especially these days!
Classic 50s diner with great breakfast food! I’ve been to a few Mel’s restaurants and this one is my favorite. The service is great and the food comes out fast. I really love the country fried steak. It’s also really fun to look at all of the 50s memorabilia. I had like suggest stopping in for a bit
Amazing! It's just absolutely amazing! Go there! You won't regret it!
Wide selection of your favorite American diner meals. Well presented meals and well serviced with great wait staff. On average $15-$20 per person. These older American diners are a dying breed but they are well worth returning too, not just for the nostalgic aspect.
Went to this diner on a recommendation from a coworker. I was craving a hamburger so I decided to order The Big Bopper. It was probably the most delicious burger I have had in a very long time. Cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was awesome. Old school diner vibe with music to match the era was no
Been a while since I've been to a Mel's as I was a bit disillusioned by my last couple of visits...that being said, I was pleasantly surprised when I got breakfast at 4 p.m.! It was great and the service was just fine.
