Review Roxie Deli And Grocery - Sacramento

Vanessa Acuna
Hands down this place is amazing. I have put two people onto their amazing meatball subs. No lie they're too good to share, and so delicious you can't just eat half. Best meatball sub I have ever had in my life! Two times I've been back and they taste just as amazing as the first time!! I've always wanted to try a good meatball sub. I've tasted a few places and honestly it was never something that made me think I'll be back for that. But this place I come specially for these meatball subs. After trying everything else make sure to take on the meatball sub!! Best you'll ever have!!

John Henry and I were hitting the Sclagbarrel for enough Rossendrip to last at least through duck season when all the sudden he tells me we gotta go to that Deli on C Street and get some sandwiches. It's been some time since I've been in that part of town, but John Henry tells me the Roxie Deli is about the best deli in Sacramento. Well, we went there and he was wrong...it not "about" the best...it is the best! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

A co-worker was raving about this little deli and BBQ place the day before. I appreciate her letting me know about this gem!!! I have not found a sandwich shop the challenges the taste of a togo's #9 hot pastrami sandwich until now!!! The house special with hot pastrami and Turkey on that fresh baked bread was soooooooo good!!! I wish I had bought two. Since this was my families first time we bought the meatball mafia and house special. My husband and I both took half of each others sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious 🤤!! You really have to try for yourself. I can't accurately describe the magic theses sandwiches are made from.

I had the best meatball sandwich I’ve ever had in my life and I’m part Italiano. My husband said the sandwich you got him for breakfast was out of this world. He’s never had anything like it. We’re just central California people fromPorterville, California. You were so gracious to open right as you opened I mean you helped us and got us right out so we could have something in her tummy before the appointment. Thank you again will see you in three months. I for one can’t wait for that good taste again.

First time here. I was recommended the House sandwich. It was on point. The people here are very nice but they are very busy. So if you want a sandwich 🥪 your gonna have be a little patient. Ill be coming back for sure.

Great sandwich place. You can't go wrong with their Roxie supreme. They didn't much of the bbq stuff left as it was already late in the day when I visited.

Good smoked meats and sandwiches. Definitely need to go back to try the rest of their menu. Great outdoor seating.

Love Roxi Deli! Everything they make is delicious! Must try the meatball sub mafia style and any of the smoked meat sandwiches. Love the selection of bread options. Staff is friendly.

I'm from out of town and a friend recommended that we go. Was not disappointed at all. They make the best sandwich hands down. They are so good they need to be featured on a magazine. Like previous reviews be patient because they are busy. Next time I'm in Sacramento that's going to be a must stop.

The food was great...I had a breakfast sandwich first thing in the morning, the young men were all friendly, despite having to wait on customers while they were trying to open. I will definitely return to try their meats that are smoked in their own smoker right outside!

I think my favorite part of coming here is how obvious it is that they value your time. So many places you go to these days don't. Thats why its busy at 2:15 pm on a wednesday. I love the selection of drinks.

As many people have already mentioned in their reviews as well as many public social media platforms have stated, "Roxie Deli & BBQ" is a Sacramento staple and quite possibly one of the best sandwich spots/delis in the 916. I have ventured at least a couple dozen occasions (ever since they opened around 2005) before picnicking at nearby McKinley Park or venturing out to the American River. And in all those years, this family owned small business thrives on flavor, selection, and unbeatable prices. Best of all, they have very consistent hours being open 7 days a week from 9am-6pm. To those reading this review that have never been here before, this place is in an affluent area in East Sacramento directly on C St. and 34th St. Parking actually isn't too difficult to find as this is in the heart of a residential area. As far as the inside goes, this tiny market packs a LOT of snacks to choose from; even before you make it to the sandwich menu. Here you will find Moon Pies, Charleston Chews, Laffy Taffy's, popcorn, sunflower seeds, and a HUGE assortment of chips. They also carry a ton of cold beverages including all types of sodas, energy drinks, bottled water, and beer to pair up with that amazing sandwich. Now onto their sandwiches; if you're a first-timer, I HIGHLY recommend you going with "The Roxie Supreme" on their signature Dutch Crunch bread. Keep in mind that this sandwich is near $20 but it is a foot long and loaded with 6 types of meats that include turkey, roast beef, pastrami, salami, mortadella, and ham. You also get two types of cheese; I usually go with cheddar and provolone. And of course the produce which includes shredded lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, & jalapeños. And it is completed with a generous amount of mayonnaise, mustard, salt & pepper, and hot sauce. You may also opt for extras (at an additional charge) that includes avocado, bacon, artichoke hearts, & mushrooms. Aside from their "Roxie Supreme", they also have other Roxie specials including the "House", "Special", "Veggie", "Meatball Mafia", & "Chicken Marinara". Additionally, they serve their breakfast sandwiches all day as well as create-your-own sandwiches. And since "BBQ" is in their business name, they offer delicious slow cooked BBQ food including tri-tip, pulled pork, ribs, & brisket. They even carry a generous amount of sides including potato salad, macaroni salad, pesto pasta salad, crab salad, tuna salad, meatballs, hummus, tamales, deviled eggs, and much more. I would say that Roxie is the most complete hole-in-the-wall no-frills deli in the area as every time I have stepped foot into here, I have gotten positive vibes and smiles from each and every one of the employees that work behind the counter. As far as my sandwich, the footlong is more than enough food to feed two people. I am not exaggerating, the amount of meat they pack into this is almost too big for anyone to take a bite into it. This place does things right on all levels; service, selection, location, quality, and prices. They don't offer any indoor seating but they do have limited tables directly outdoors. I've almost always taken this to a park on a nice sunny day. With that said and done, "Roxie Deli" gets a unanimous five star review to add to my repertoire of top reviews.

I stumbled on this place by accident and I am glad that I did. This is a real gem, a deli that makes almost everything from scratch and does it well. The menu is mostly sandwiches although they have some sides and other things that look interesting. When I showed up they were just taking some tri-tips off of the grill (they smoke or grill one meat a day. Monday is Tri-tips so that's what I had.) The sandwiches come in three sizes. Since I haven't had much of an appetite lately I went for the smallest (a Junior). I selected a sourdough roll and although it was not made on the premises it was excellent nonetheless. It had a nice crusty exterior and a fluffy, bready interior. The tri-tip was all that you would hope for. Rich, juicy and full of smoky goodness. The veggies on the sandwich added to the deliciousness. I can't wait to try some of their other offerings.

Been here total of 3 times but it’s always 🔥 food. Pretty fast too! Great selection of beer as well. I got the pulled pork. Really good. With macaroni salad, pesto salad and potato salad.

Stopped in for a sandwich on the recommendation of a computer repair place around the corner while my unit was in getting work done. Very impressed. I had a simple ham and turkey with swiss and it was stuffed with meat and fresh vegies and on a crunchy and soft toasted bun. I also tasted a sample of their brisket. I am definitely going to get that the next trip. I recommend this place highly.

Roxie's has a special place in my heart! I havent worked in the area in over 10 yrs. Yet when I have made a trip to Roxie, the owner Chris has almost remembered my whole order! Some of the best sandwiches around from some of the best people. Meatball Mafia style!!!

I'm a local event planner and was hired to coordinate a Baseball theme shower, my clients wanted a backyard BBQ. I found Roxie Deli on Yelp, they had great reviews. Amy the owner and her husband were very friendly, the food tasting we had prior to booking service were Delicious! Service was great, food great, Amy went the extra mile to customize my client's order to fit within their budget, Amy was prompt and easy to work with.

I have gone here every time I come back to town... I started coming in 2008 when I lived with my cousin who knows the owner. You catered my wedding in 2011 and today was my first time back since my divorce. I told my other half that I know of a deli he needs to try, he said ok as the deli he wanted me to try might be closed. He then was shocked when I pulled up to Roxie as this is where he wanted to take me. Go Steelers (chris that is for you!) - Chris Ryan’s cousin Jill
