I’ve wanted to come here for a while now, finally got to try their breakfast and pies! The restaurant is old fashioned and they play oldies to match the vibe. I ordered to go, but the food was so fresh! I ordered the Country Fried Steak breakfast, with a side of Grits, and a Sweet Potato pie 😋 The breakfast was so filling! The pie was good, although I would like to try the Pecan next time! I will be editing this post as I try more meals!

Absolutely great food , the fried chicken is delicious crisp and perfectly cooked inside . The seasoning and crust is tasty . The highlight is there biscuits and gravy , it’s one of the best I had . There Gumbo is so delicious and hearty . Carrot cake is again one of the best . A must visit when you are around . Support our local businesses.

A small hole in the wall type of excellent restaurant with what looked to be a husband and wife team running the place. One would take the order while the other cooking, then they would switch bringing water and switch again bringing food, and then they would both come over at different times asking how is everything. Very nice couple. Awesome food. Big bowl of gravy and biscuits. Great hot meal.
The place is clean and bright.
good times
A very nice cozy feel and the food is great till the last bite. And I got To-go so it will taste even better if you dine in

Came by Sarom's Southern Kitchen for the first time!
For the two of us, we ordered:
-collard greens: a bit salty
-cornbread good: need to eat fast or the bottom gets soggy
-biscuits and gravy: heavy, so be carefu.
-sausage, eggs, and creamy grits: good, solid plate
-catfish and shrimp plate: catfish had no bones which was nice. Shrimp was ok
-mac and cheese: a bit too saucy. Slightly overcooked
Overall, huge fan of the value here. Lots of sides you can order and share with a big group. Excited to come back in the near future!
Be aware of how carby you are ordering, because these foods definitely hit HARD.
Parking in the plaza if you're lucky!

The omelette was good. The people were nice. The table edges on both tables I touched were sticky. Don’t go in thirsty-12oz cup of tea was $3 and they wanted another $1 for a refill.

A slice of Southern Cuisine near the capital of California. Great place to eat if you're looking for some soul comfort food

Man all I can say is phenomenal! I ate every single bite. This was my first time ever coming here every time I drive past it it’s usually packed. I’m not a big fan of country style food and restaurants I normally cook it myself but this place was amazing. The eggs were perfect easy over they were runny and hot the country potatoes were tender the biscuits and gravy was excellent. The biscuits were soft. Some of restaurants will serve you hard biscuits. Top it off I got to catfish fillets. They were piping hot and crunchy and flaky I devoured my entire plate. I will definitely be coming back!

I ordered the chicken fried steak. I normally never get this. It was ok. I stole some of my brothers fried chicken from his chicken and waffles. They have the best waffles in Sacramento. Hands down.

I went fir brunch & had the fried chicken wings and waffles, 4 whole wings. Waffles were cooked right & chicken was delicious. I normally avoid soul food restaurants because the food is extra salty. I dont eat pork because of the salt, & they have turkey bacon on the menu. Not a problem here. Definitely on the list to go back. Almost forgot, carafe of mimosas was delicious too.

Food was absolutely amazing! I had tge country fried steak and you could tell it was not just a frozen patty. It was fresh and the breading was on point! Atmosphere was warm and welcoming! I will definitely be coming back to try more!

Exactly what you hope for in a soul food restaurant. Large portions and exceptional taste. Wait staff very friendly and we never had to wait for a refill on our drinks. My husband got the chicken and waffles. Chicken was crispy and juices. Wish they used real maple syrup. I know that is asking too much but it would have made such a difference. I got the catfish flavorful with a hint of spice. Coleslaw amazing crunchy creamy love the touch of cucumber.

Best chicken and waffles we've had in Sacramento.
This is unassuming home style southern restaurant.
Customer service is excellent. Very warm and friendly. Different staff members came and checked on us throughout our meal to make sure everything was a-okay.
We're looking forward too coming back and trying other menu items.

Loved their food. Everything we ordered was very tasty. We ordered collard greens, Burger and fries, spicy fried chicken sandwich, jambalaya, shrimp and grits and pork chops.

Best jambalaya and cheese grits. Food is always on point and the pies are always delicious. My mom loves the carrot cake and the biscuits and gravy. Good music and great customer service. We try to come at least once a week.

First time going to Sarom's and I was not disappointed. The food I ordered was hot and delicious. I ordered the egg combo with pork chops. My sides were Oh so good cheesy grits and toast. The pork chops were tender and well seasoned (not salty there's a difference). The cheesy grits were cheesy, buttery, and cooked right. I ate everything on my plate. The staff and service were excellent. I will be returning
