Such a wonderful place. I would recommend it highly. The meal was incredible and the staff was wonderful. Don't wait too long to try Woodlake Tavern.
We started our meal with an order of the Tallow Fries with a Small Salad that was put together perfectly. We followed that with the Brisket with Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni and Cheese. Everything was so good!. We cannot wait until our next visit!

"This is dancing food!" my husband exclaimed as he bit into the oxtail croquettes.
This diamond in the rough has a crisp, clean, and beautiful atmosphere. The bathroom was immaculate! There was even a clean changing room to freshen up.
Service: We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming host. We did not have a wait (not sure of normal busy hours, this was Wednesday around 7 or 8). Have you ever had a server who was not only friendly, offered excellent recommendations, and personable, but also seemed to genuinely enjoy the company of his/her guests? Michael was so friendly and welcoming to his guests (including us), that he deserves his own shoutout. I was visibly anxious (due to a really gross experience just two blocks up at a different establishment) and he didn't even bash the other business, he explained the way Sacramento is growing and said its improving. Definitely full of grace and class when he spoke with us. You're amazing! Thanks for making the experience memorable at Woodlake Tavern.
Drinks: My husband ordered a Thanksgiving specialty drink, Cranberry Sauce, Milagro Silver, Capelletti, Burly Juniper Cranberry Shrub, with Fresh Lime & Sweet Agave! Phenomenal! I finished my meal with their "Rabbit Down The Hole" cocktail. This was a very fragrant and flavorful mix, it nails the name. There is not a better name: Gin & Amaretto mix with a honey carrot syrup, with a sprig of thyme & a thin strip of carrot to garnish. I love savory drinks, so if that's not your thing, skip this and get a different specialty drink, but if you're like me or enjoy trying new drinks, don't miss this one!
Food: We started with oxtail croquettes. White cheddar with Yukon gold potatoes and truffle aoili and chives sprinkled on top. The first bite had my husband beyond ecstatic. Hearty yet not overfilling. We ordered a Tavern Burger: beef cooked to order, covered with smoked white cheddar, red leaf, crispy onions, aioli, and the most amazing savory with slight hint of sweet tomato marmalade! I can't express this enough, it is amazing! Since I wasn't wanting such a hearty dinner, I ordered the Impossible Burger: Vegan patty covered with crispy onions, aioli, and that amazing flavorful tomato marmalade! There is something about that Vegan patty, it was like an explosion of flavor in my mouth! We got salad instead of fries, they top it with feta and your choice of dressing. Pretty good, crisp & fresh. We shared some Macaroni & Cheese that was rich, creamy, and crisp bread crumbs for a perfect texture that gives you that warm & gourmet home feeling. We skipped on dessert for this time, but, maybe next time!
Being stingy with 5 star reviews...this definitely gets 5 stars all around.

Went here for Sunday Brunch. Got there right after they opened and only 2 other tables were sat. We ordered the Eggs in Purgatory and the Brisket Hash. Highly recommend both dishes. They were fantastic. We ordered the beignets as well, which were a little underwhelming. The service was fantastic though. If you are looking for a calmer brunch crowd with fantastic dishes, check this place out.

I love Taco Tuesday at the upscale Woodlake Tavern, where you can feast on their amazingly tasty, slow-cooked beef brisket tacos for just $2 each.
I've never had anything like it ... I highly recommend them! Corner of Arden & Del Paso Blvd, formerly Enotria.
This place is known for their fine comfort food meats and expert chefs (pedigrees from Ella and The Firehouse) and wine selection. The Bee just gave them a glowing review, and word is getting out about this special spot.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in years, and I spend over half the year on the road. Reasonably priced service was great food too notch. Lots of character as well.

Love this place. Wonderful outdoor seating, and amazing food. Thursday night is $1 rib night. Their banana ice cream dessert is awesome.
Bob Morthole
Top notch restaurant. Tried the pork belly lettuce cup, Ceasar's salad & sirloin steak. All were wonderful. Stayed after dinner to listen to Whiskey Moonlight gig.

Had an awesome experience here! The atmosphere was awesome! The people were great! But the food, exceeded expectations. The meat was great, the dessert was eaten before I could take a picture. Well definitely go back and recommend this place without a doubt

The macaroni and cheese was to die for that hamburger was the best I've ever had! Check out my Bloody Mary one of the best I've had in a long time

The food here is absolutely delicious! My husband had the shrimp and grits and I was a little bit envious, it was so creamy and the shrimp were perfection. My chicken was amazing (so moist and flavorful,) and the red pepper jam on top made it sing! Our friend had the brisket and it was so tender it flaked with his fork. Their BBQ sauce is excellent. We also had appetizers, my favorite being the sliders. The wings are savory-sweet and yummy but would benefit from just a little heat. The lemon and aioli on the shrimp & crab cake really makes this dish (perfect to share.) Great happy hour with delicious wines. Awesome service, Ashley is a sweetheart, and everyone is attentive without hovering. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will return!! ❤

Great spot. Definitely a hidden gem. Loved the menu. It's perfect for Sunday Brunch. Bottem less mimosas for 11$. Great for a date or out with girls. I loved our server Edward he was the best. There is a nice outside area and venue to have a party.

Wonderful little place in an odd location. It ya soon to watch the variety of traffic go by while eating such an amazing meal. The menu is short and very solid with everything we tasted being off excellent quality. You definitely can't go wrong here.
Our service started off a little slow and the server apologized profusely for the miscommunication that led to the small delay. After that the service was perfectly attentive.
The cocktails, wine, and good were all excellent and we can't wait to go back.

Delicious food, wonderful cocktails, good portions, well priced. We had the pork belly, BBQ sampler platter, salmon rillette, porterhouse steak, and salmon. Plus we tried the lemon cheesecake, pear tart, chocolate pudding cake, and banana ice cream pie. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection. The brisket is the best ever! The staff is attentive, the owners Deneb and Elizabeth are warm, friendly and relaxed and it's a place that you'll go to again and again. Highly recommend!

Voted one of the best ribs in Sacramento !!
First time visited and I must say one of the best,,, clearest must say !!! One of the best meals I have ever had in my life !!! Ok yes the ribs are good but try the platter special !! Add in the potatoes and Mac & cheese just added to the meal !!! Fabulous all around period !!!!
Lieschen Moller
The best smoked brisket I've ever had! Biscuits to die for. Beef tallow fries!! House-made pickled vegetables are the perfect foil to the melt-in-your-mouth meats. Relaxing beautiful vibe on the dog-friendly patio. Delicious cocktails, wines & beers. I usually don't eat dessert, but their banana ice cream pie is out of this world, not to be missed. It takes just minutes to get to this cool location in old north Sac from East Sac or midtown. Can't wait to go back!

I went out with a friend when I heard about the rib night. Sadly got there late. But the brisket was recommended and OMG!!! Wtf did I just put in my mouth (I did have the ribs the next week. Also amazing.) I have never had a piece of meat I could cut with my fork. And would just melt with flavor. The side (not actually a side dish just came with the plate) was this perfectly pickled veggie mix which after eating through two cuts of brisket (they gave me 5) was so perfect. It balanced everything. You can tell how much thought goes into the kitchen. Will definitely be coming again

The restaurant was very cute. Very friendly welcome from the hostess. Our server, Ashton, was amazing. Very knowledgeable of the menu. Very informative of the wine list. Our food was excellent. We ordered the gnocchi for a shared plate and then my wife had the Beef Stroganoff, I had the Steak Frite. Amazing. Hot and fresh. We both ordered desert, which we probably should have shared one. We were stuffed when we left. Thank you for not rushing us. A wonderful leisurely 2 hour dinner

Truly craft cocktails and high quality food that lends itself to a nice fancy date night or a casual happy hour with friends or colleagues, it has the perfect blend of being both genuine and effortlessly elegant. All of the staff have always been more than just staff doing their job but instead share their passion for their craft and are welcoming, taking the time to make you feel at home. So far we have had everything from gnocchi to burgers and have yet to not love the attention to rich and balanced flavor.
Being located just outisde of the usual go to Midtown/Downtown spots that so many great restaurants set up their post at, this place is such a hidden gem. It also gives a lovely nod to the tucked Woodlakd neighborhood and streetscape of North Sacramento that hints at seeing a revival.

My partner and my first visit, more in the future for certain, so we order drinks - nice house cocktails - and decided to order several small plates...okay all of the and a side of Mac & Cheese just for good measure! Without a blink our waitperson ask how we'd like them delivered. So we decided on to groupings.
Carnivores plate - great KC spiced ribs - but more of a dry rub - great, chicken wings - nice subtle flavor, and hot links! Fall Gnocchi with delicate kale- must try! Brisket loaded fries done very well. All said food and service was spot on, would suggest decreasing the dinning room lighting by 10% or so - personal preference only.

I would recommend calling and booking ,we did the online thing and it reserved out side seating but it was well heated and the service was outstanding I had the flat iron and loved it !!! The roasted chicken was some of the best I've had . And you may disappointed when you can't get the crab cake.. they are changing the menu but we did get to have one ...that may have been the best crab cake I've ever had .. all and all a great experience will be returing soon

Between a table of four, we had the crab and shrimp cake, brisket loaded fries, big salad, cornbread biscuit and of course the BBQ combo plate. And for dessert the banana ice cream pie. Everything was delish but the biscuits, brisket, ribs and dessert were my favorites! Can't wait to go back for the Sunday Supper!
Michael Darling
What a great venue. The food was amazing, the service exemplary and the experience wonderful. This is a good place to bring friends. Chef Matthew Stauss has got the menu dialed in. The drink menu is extensive so there's a libation for everyone. Well worth the visit! We will return for sure!

Went to Woodlake for $1 rib nights on Thursday nights. They ran out so I had their always awesome Cesar’s salad and then their beef burgundy. I can say that their food is always on point. You shall not be disappointed. For all the single guys who want to impress dress your lady up and take her there for a night out. She will be blown away!
Zachary Proteau
Loved everything about this place - Food was outstanding, I had the salmon with mac & cheese and the curried veggies on the side and it was incredible. Even something so simple as a salad had fresh but complex flavors. Drinks were inventive but classy. Atmosphere was fancy but chill. The staff was friendly and attentive but never intrusive. Perfect for a night out. We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic service and great food! The Executive Chef brought my 5 year old a plate of the mac-n-cheese to "test it out" and wanted his expert opinion..LOL. It was so good and we are glad we had the opportunity to try. The fries are the best I've ever had. They are fried in beef fat! Don't skip dessert either. We had the Meyer Lemon Cheesecake. Yum!
So glad this place took over the spot on Del Paso and Arden-Garden! We will definitely be back soon.
Arlene C Mortela-Velez
My favorite, the pork belly is a must try. It was tender, flavorful, combined with pickled veges, is just superb. Also had biscuits that was out of this world. They should bag these. This has got to be one of my nicest meals I had in a long time. The service was superb! Iris Lynn, great job! I highly recommend it...and definitely come back to taste test the rest of the menu.
