It's okay for a quick bite. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table and you get your own drinks. I had the beef lamb Gyro combo it was good and very filling I couldn't finish it.

Grabbed a quick lunch here on a busy day. Best choice ever! The service is fast and friendly, the portions are more than ample, the food is delicious. The lamb gyro was fresh, hot and tasty and the baklava was out of this world delicious! It changed baklava for me forever! It is the best!

Their beef/lamp gyro was quite tasty. I was hoping it would came out warmer. Cold made made tasty meat not super tasty. Greek salad was fresh with tasty dressing, though I was hoping for more green. Pitta bread was alright as well. Dolmades was quite flavorful as well. The rice and grape leaves were well cooked, just a little too sour for my taste.

This is a nice low key spot to have great food. The food is fresh and well seasoned. The portions are amazing for the cost. The Petra crew are all awesome. I've been here like five times and no matter what I order, I am completely satisfied. In fact, this restaurant is in my top 3 suggestions to family and friends.
Parking can be a challenge. However it's downtown so it's not a surprise. And trust me, this food is amazing!!!

Great place to come and dine if you have a craving for gyros. Their lamb chops were not that great but the their gyros and plates are the way to go. There is only street parking so during busy hours you have to park a way bit off.

Extremely generous portion sizes on the Gyro's & fast service.
I ordered the Beef, Lamb Gyro Pita and made that a combo (fries + drink). Lots of meat in my pita ... which I think makes this place stand out.
My friend ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Plate which they usually serve with rice, but replaced it with Pita (since they were out of rice).

There isn't too many options of Greek food in the Sacramento area. That being said, this is probably the best current location if you ever are craving it. The beef/lamb gyro was filling and the meat tasted great. The Petra fries were also a treat without being too overbearing. Try the fry sauce! They also have a selection of beer that I did not get a chance to drink but I definitely will when I come back for happy hour.

I only gave it 4 stars because the cutlery they brought was dirty water stains. Didn't dry well after washing. the food was delicious and sooooo much, we even had to take a box to pick up.

If you want delicious Greek food, do yourself a favor and EAT AT PETRA GREEK!!! We tried this establishment this evening and I must say, we will definitely be back. The restaurant is located on a pretty busy street; we utilized metered street parking as it was the first thing we saw. There may be other parking in the vicinity but the street parking was most convenient. The restaurant is rather small, with a walk up counter and perhaps 10 tables total. The menu offers a decent variety of Greek dishes. My husband had the gyro with fries, while I had the chicken souvlaki plate (with rice, Greek salad, pitas, and tzatziki). Our children sampled from our plates. We also shared the saganaki appetizer (which is garnished and flambeed table side, to the delight of our boys). Everything was wonderful!! The prices were great considering the serving size and quality of the food. We left full, with enough food leftover for lunch tomorrow. This place is a winner!

The hummus and pita were very good. The pits are served warm and fresh. The spice rub on the chicken kabobs were tasty but the chicken was a little dry.

I didn't really like it but I think that is mostly because I didn't know that I don't like gyros. The meat texture urks me. The humus and flatbread was super good though. We also ordered halloumi and it was amazing. Food was expensive but what can you expect from old town Sacramento.

This place is pretty good. Not mind-blowing good but a solid 8/10. Service is super fast and efficient. They've never never a mistake with the food. It seems expensive but labor rates are through the roof, food prices through the roof, and commercial rents are through the roof.

Amazing experience for solo and group eating! Very authentic Greek food...would come back again!

Pictured is the petra special plate. The chicken souvlaki and pork souvlaki were so juicy and delicious. The beefteki is not my thing - tastes too grassy. Best tzatziki sauce ive ever had in my life (is it homemade?! So good). Pita bread is soft and fresh.
My friend got the pork souvlaki pita, which he said was excellent! Note the french fries come inside the pita, they arent a side. Cool concept!
