Review The Firehouse Restaurant - Sacramento

Rob Torma
Once again, The Firehouse simply excels in quality and attention to detail! From the moment we walked in, we felt the respect that the staff exuded. This restaurant is definitely the cornerstone of Old Sacramento's ambiance and atmosphere. The food was fantastic, and every effort was made to ensure our satisfaction. Being our anniversary, they included a nice surprise for us, which just added to the entire experience. We travel from over an hour away, and the Firehouse is always our spot to enjoy a great meal. Great job guys, looking forward to our next visit!

Service is what you remember it being right here. From being greated & seated with grace & style to a nicely timed dinner service, beautiful plating and the taste were delightful. My darling had the halibut pictured, but sadly, it was not quite what he expected, so they replaced it immediately with his choice of scallops & and risotto, which after tasting it I wish I had gotten that as well. I ordered the pork chop 12 oz & huge, which was served with an apple butter maple sauce, mash potatoes & crisp green beans , delicious. We enjoyed an endive & apple salad to start yummy with blue cheese crumbles. Also shared was a Creme Brule tasty as they always are. Fine dining at its finest. Staff are well versed in service, and it definitely shows. The portions here are large. We could have easily shared 1 main entree here. Come here for stellar service and classic tasty dishes. Nice for a special occasion or when you want to have one of the best kind of elegant dining experiences in town.

This place is definitely fine dining.. but they still took us wearing jeans and a t-shirt and Santa hats.... Thanks for your wonderful hospitality. I recommend this place.. the food was incredibly scrumptious.... And I don't want to forget the bread...

Probably the best date place in Sacramento. The food is super delicious. The hospitality is on point. The vintage ambiance is a cheery on top. 10/10 recommendeded

An absolute wonderful spot! I once came here and there were no tables so they sat us at the bar, we still had a great time, but this time we actually were able to get a table and the service was absolutely kind, patient and not what I expected. It was the perfect setting to celebrate my anniversary. Loved that this was in Old Sacramento, and I can't wait to return for a tasty meal!

Service was top tier. The pork belly for a starter is a must try. For dinner I had the special which was the lobster tail for $44 and some delicious mash (sold separately). My bf had the filet mignon with mash and green beans. The mignon was cooked just how he likes it and was packed with flavor. My cocktail was strong so I was one and done. I believe it was about $18. We went to celebrate my birthday and was given a dessert after dinner whichwas nice. Total cost $165 before tip. It was a nice experience. (Valet $10)

This was a nice atmosphere for a date and for a family dinner. The food was amazing. Everyone really enjoyed it and cleaned out their plates. The drinks are amazing. And the staff is the best part. The waiter was very knowledgeable and very helpful and spent his time actually discussing everything with us. Overall great experience, I would highly recommend.

Beautiful place upscale white table cloth dining. Sort of an old school vibe. Ideal for a date night or just a classy evening with the family. We tried a few cocktails they were all good. My favorite drink was the Mary Pickford. To start we ordered duck crepes, and they were amazing! Then heirloom tomatoes with burrata. Then we ordered the one of the evening specials which was the surf and turf Delmonico steak, with a lobster tail. The potato puree that came with it was excellent. For dessert we ordered the Panna cotta and it was ok. We also ordered the creme brulee and it was my favorite. Don't miss this place!!!

We had drinks in the bar before going into the restaurant, the server/bartender was absolutely fantastic and gave us a history of the Firehouse. Our dinner was so well presented and prepared, the waiter didn’t rush us and so we enjoyed the time it took to eat and digest our meals, desserts and coffee. Well done Firehouse for a very relaxed enjoyable evening.

First off I would say they need to change this to 4 $ signs not three. The artwork inside is beautiful; the service is off the charts, the wine list is second to none. I had caviar, oysters, lava cake, the soufflé, and a Gamay wine that was awesome. If I had to do it over and recommend something to someone I would say don’t get caviar unless you really like it, I just like trying different suppliers and it was a brand I hadn’t heard off but a full tin is 200$. The best thing I had was the wine and the soufflé…. As for the lava cake…. Just stick to the soufflé trust me on that. 😛 The food was excellent and would recommend again for special occasions but not for a simple meal going out with a partner unless you got it like that

Amazing spot with great cocktails and an endless wine list. The bar keep, “Gage” was exceptional. He carried a great sense of humor and can make a mean old fashion. He was consistent in checking on the bar guests and made the experience extremely enjoyable. A++

I had the pleasure of enjoying a private Xmas company party on my first ever visit. Every aspect was phenomenal. I had to make the server bring out the cook just so I could describe my filet mignon as being the best I have had in longer than I can remember. Great time!

Great food, great drinks, and a unique experience. Lots of historic stories to be heard from host/hostesses. I will be back for sure.

I had dinner here last Saturday. I didn’t make a reservation and sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and helped me to store my bags temporarily. I had the duck breast and soufflé. It was the best duck breast I ever had. Very tender and juicy. I also like the sauce. Soufflé was very soft and fluffy but the jam was a bit too sour.

Food was delicious. Service was fantastic. Everyone was nice and polite. Only complaint is that the lobster gnocchi was a little salty and the risotto slightly underdone. Waiter's knowledge of wine was fantastic.

Had a amazing time with my wife for an early Valentine’s Day dinner! We always come here once or twice a year. It is always consistent and good. The Warriors of waitresses are amazing and very attentive and nice !

Dine downtown menu drew us in, we have always wanted to try this restaurant. Service was phenomenal. Just disappointed in the main course, the salmon entree. First and third course were great. I would recommend the wine flights! We tried both.

Such a great thanksgiving dinner. Arcadian salad, fillet mignon with crab, apple cake +wine and espresso obviously. The bread was like elevated Cheesecake Factory bread. the steak was absolutely perfect (even forgot to take a pic before starting to eat). Definitely could double my age and still be the youngest person dining there- which is a good thing.

Very fancy, classy, high end restaurant. Excellent quality of food and wine. Charming decor.
