Hoody’s is the best sub shop hands down. I’ve been coming here for 30+ years and will advocate for this restaurant every time I’m in town. The staff are amazing, the vibe is friendly, and if you have allergies, they take it seriously. If you’re gluten free, you can order any sub as a salad. Pro tip — get it with all the toppings and condiments that would come with the sandwich and you won’t miss the bread!

Went yesterday during the lunch rush so waited a little longer than usual and buns got a bit toasted I assume due to the rush. But besides that the sandwich was amazing loved the peppers easily the best I’ve had in Austin so far. Will for sure be back to try out more subs just not during lunch ha.

Best Philly Cheesesteak I've had outside of Philadelphia! Really legit. Reminds me of Dalessandro's. Staff was great. Perfect vibe. Will definitely be back. Wife got the Italian sandwich and it was great as well.

I move here from NYC 4 years ago and had not found a good sandwich place until today when a friend recommended Hoodys! This place makes authentic east coast deli style sandwiches/subs/heros whatever you wanna call um. It's like I've found the piece of my soul that has been missing. I highly recommend this place.

Extremely popular and busy store. People were streaming in the whole time we were there. As busy as it was, the very friendly owner and six staff observed were handling the lines of people efficiently and producing the orders in a timely manner. As dine in customers left a staff member was on the cleanup. All in all a very well run business. The food was fresh and looked great. My wife had a small Roast Beef sandwich with all the toppings. The bread is delicious, but the bread to filling ratio was heavy on the bread. She also found that the peppers overpowered the flavor of the main fillings, so basically she felt she was eating bread and peppers. I had a small Philly Chicken Cheese sandwich with all the toppings. Once again the peppers overpowered the subtle flavor of the chicken, cheese and mushrooms, so next time we visit we'd do without the peppers so we can taste the main fillings. Another issue was the sandwich had so much liquid in it that the bread ended up very soggy. I think the peppers needed draining before being ladled on. I will update this at a later time when we revisit.

Just absolutely phenomenal food! Genuinely best Philly cheese steak sandwich in town or Austin probably. Fast service and sandwich served on the softest, freshest hoagie 🥖 . They even had the hot chopped peppers which I don’t think a lot of places serve anymore. Exceptional food for real. Highly recommend this place.

I ate here a year ago today, and there hasn't been a day that I haven't thought about that sandwich. I live in DFW, and my mom and I were, sadly, in the Austin/Round Rock area for a funeral. The sandwich I had here was the highlight of my trip. I've wanted to drive down from Dallas all year, but I haven't been able to. The mustard and mayo combination was phenomenal, and the sandwich was so fresh. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. My mom lived in Round Rock in the 90s, and this was one of her favorite places to go. She took me here on a nostalgic whim, and it's a core memory for me. I cannot wait for the day that I'm able to come back and eat another delicious sub!

It pains me to leave this review because I've been eating at Hoody's since the 90's. First time back since the pandemic. The cheesesteak was extremely dry and barely any cheese, the hoagie had a few shreds of lettuce... both sandwiches were just a big loaf of bread with no meat. This is not the place I remember. It was honestly the worst sandwich I've ever had. Stopped in Sept 23, 2021 about 4pm and sadly won't ever go back.
