Deckhand was packed on a Friday night. Friendly servers, bar staff and busboys. Everyone was having a good time, even while standing and waiting for a table. Busy, relatively loud, great 80’s music and fun place to have dinner. Family friendly, but a diverse group of 20-60 somethings were there for our visit. Great date night location. If you want a nice quiet spot; this isn’t. So bring some ear plugs and don’t miss the fantastic food.
The oysters were delicious, typical dishes like the fried catfish were awesome and huge, but the signature Asian inspired seafood options were also fantastic.
On top of the great food, the prices were very reasonable considering the high price of seafood in general.
Looking forward to our next visit!
Great place! Service and food were on point! The Boudin Ball wrapped in bacon was amazing and the vietcajun crawfish did not disappoint!
The 'deckhand' style oysters were great, nice size. Love their salt and pepper calamari but we got with shrimp this time which was great, love this dish, they're breading is always flavorful and light. The addition of onion, jalapeno and cilantro with the slaw is super tasty! Kids shrimp and Fry basket was plenty and reasonably priced. The mussels dish with rice had a ton of flavor, kind of like a kicked up super spicy ramen broth. My only complaint was the service, our waitress was incredibly slow and took forever to bring the things that we asked for and did not check on us unfortunately but I've been a fan of deckhand so far and am super pleased they have the new location right near the old!
Food was very good. Fries, rice, shrimp, crab legs and sauce. Prices were good too. I left off a star because the Wednesday I went they weren’t broiling or frying oysters. I literally only went for the oysters. Also because my 7yo splashed garlic butter in his eyes and needed a sink to rinse them. Since they were prepping to close, they locked the bathrooms and offered us a cup of water. Kinda insensitive. If you’re going for something specific, ask if it’s available before sitting.
Great seafood! Til august 2022, they are out of oysters and cakes said the indoor signage. Great portions. Papaya salad was huge. Crabby fish sauce and spice level goes from 0-20. Crying phoenix has mild moderate and high spice levels and it’s glass noodles with garlic and spicy Thai flavors. The fried fish hush puppies and shrimp delicious!! GUMBO we got the smallest cup size and should have gotten the bowl to go. It was delicious my most favorite part. We will be back. Curious for the desserts like cake when it comes back. Also missed the oysters. Thanks y’all! Oh and if you want the Thai dipping sauce on their tables it’s also an extra charge.
The oysters are as big as my fist! So meaty and juicy and refreshing for summer with some cool beer to pair. Great for afternoon lunch when it's not too crowded! I hear this place is packed for dinner. The crawfish is so fresh! Scrumptious and the perfect mild-spicy consistency. The gumbo was good too. We didn't try the Thai food but I think this place is astounding for the boil and seafood here. I keep thinking about those oysters! Go before season ends.
Ive been coming here for almost 10 years now and the food and service is always spot on!! It's a "make a reservation" type of place on the weekends. Only thing I can hit on is the New location needs some love, feels a bit bland, from the menus to the decor/layout. Slacking on that TRUE Deck Hands touch.
Deckhand did not disappoint! Brand new building also and it looks great. We went during their soft opening and the staff worked very hard to level set there may be delays as they figure everything out and they took great care of us. We got the ‘Salt and Pepper Calamari’ as an appetizer. I had the ‘Salmon Wrap’ and my wife had the ‘Crying Phoenix’ w/shrimp. Everything turned out great! We’re repeat customers and will definitely be back! 5 stars!
