The salmon was excellent. Also had the pimento dip was surprisingly good. House pinot grigio was crisp and cold. It Rained on the patio the servers were quick to close the windows and I loved hearing the rain on the tin roof. I'll definitely return.

Jack Allen's Kitchen has superb food and great service. It's a little loud, but almost all the better Austin area restaurants are loud. The fact that it was crowded on a Monday night says a lot about their popularity. They are a bit pricey, but they are worth it for the occasional outing.

Love love love this Farm to Table Resturant . Our meal was fresh and delicious, our Bloody Marys were hands down perfect and dessert was divine. Our waitress was sweet and very courteous. We definitely will back again and will recommend to family and friends. 5 "Cheers" to this establishment.

Wow! Great fresh food! Stopped by while out of town for a conference. Found JA's on google with a 4.6 rating - glad we stop! I had the chicken fried chicken with the Chef's veggies (double) and ended with the pecan pie. So good! And the environment is super clean with a southern charm. Definitely recommend! Looks like the Hubs and I will be taking a day trip to Round Rock :D

This was our first time and will not be our last. Our waitress was very friendly and has been working here for three years. The food was fresh and hot!! Our waitress told us a brief story about one of the local farmers suddenly passed away and the owner of Jack Allen’s is cooking for a benefit for the farmers family also the owner cooks yearly for the farmers they buy from throughout the year. Very satisfied and full.

We only came for dessert and cocktails, but both were absolutely lovely. My husband and I don't get a date night often, and we were quite pleased with our choice. Will have to go back for a full meal next go.

Been here twice. Loved the place. Food's great. Had the 13 Spiced Chicken pasta, Cruzan Black Cherry Mojito & a Burger from their Specials menu. Went there with my colleagues & everyone was really satisfied with the dish they ordered.

During an recent visit to the Austin area, two different friends recommend Jack Allen's. I tried it for lunch today and enjoyed a fantastic meal. One of the specials today was the stacked enchiladas. Chicken tinga layered between corn tortillas, sauce and more cheese than you would think humanly possible. Then all of that is topped with a egg, over easy. Simply delicious. I was also given a sample of the house made pimento cheese. I would definitely order that as an appetizer on my next visit. Service was fantastic and efficient. A great meal overall.

This place really does do delicious food and great service. Farm to table the waiter explained.

Ordered the chicken fried beef ribs. Oh em gee. The beef ribs were succulent and just fell right off the bone. (It did have one big bone piece but that didn't make it difficult to eat at all) The batter was crisp and well flavoured. Came with some veges and gravy and mash. Would totally order again.

Also tried the cast iron chicken enchiladas. I don't eat enchiladas often but my friend who does said it was one of the best enchiladas she's ever had. I thought it was pretty good. Sauce was like a tomato cream base sauce? Chicken was soft and came with a sunny side egg.

Look forward to coming here again!

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! My Wife and I moved to Waco from Kentucky in October and yesterday we took a trip to Round Rock and discovered this amazing restaurant. Everything about this place was incredible and they have the best food we've had in Texas yet. The staff was super friendly, hospitable, and took great pride in their job, product, and farm to table concept. The place was so busy that we ate at the bar and Bernie was our bartender. He was genuinely friendly and made us delicious cocktails. I had the martini with vodka, grapefruit, and muddled fresh sage. It was balanced, refreshing, and they weren't cheap with the vodka but it also didn't over power the other flavors. I told Bernie we'd never been here and asked him for recommendations. And Bernie did a great job helping us figure out what we wanted to try. He knew the menu extremely well and articulated why he liked specific dishes. It was clear Bernie loved their food. Our appetizer was slow cooked quail legs with jalapeño and peach jams and micro greens. WOW!!! Absolutely fantastic and original. My Wife's entree was the chorizo stuffed pork medallions and I had the chicken fried chicken. Again, WOW!!! I'm not big into pork minus bacon, sausage, and ribs but I tried a bite of my Wife's dish and it was amazing. My chicken fried chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful and the gravy was insanely light and seasoned well. Usually this dish is heavy but not at this restaurant. Both of us had the mixed veggies and mashed potatoes as sides. The veggies were fresh, bright, and cooked perfectly and the potatoes......best potatoes I've ever had at any restaurant in my 35 years of existence. Clearly they are mashed fresh and were wonderful. I got to meet the Head Chef, John. This guy is awesome. He is very proud of his food and craft and is driven by passion and excellence. I know what that's like because I was a full time music producer in Kentucky for years and I strive for the same excellence and am extremely passionate about my product. A 3.9 rating is ridiculous and the long wait, unique and balanced cocktails, friendly, knowledgable, and passionate staff, and excellently executed creative menu with top notch ingredients prove it. This isn't only the best restaurant I've been to in Texas. It's in the top 3 I've ever been to in my life and I've lived in 3 states, travelled to at least 30 of our states and 4 other countries. Jack Allen's Kitchen is one of those rare gems where I'm like, "Shut up and take my money!!!". I wish this place was in Waco but maybe it's good they aren't because I'd be broke. Eat here, support this business and the people who work here. Appreciate what you have in Round Rock because I WISH we had a place like this where I live. There is no such thing as perfection but this place is damn near close. We will be back!!!

My wife and I have been here countless times and it never disappoints. I love to try there specials but the menu staples are always good. They also have an awesome brunch on Sunday. This is one of the places we take out of town guests all the time.

Selected Jack Allen's for dinner based on recommendations and it was very close to my hotel. The homemade pimento cheese that is served as a complimentary taste was very good. Got to enjoy the half-price appetizers and enjoyed the pork belly sliders. For dessert the chocolate bombe was out of this world. Wish I could have another one right now...

Super Fantastic! The pork medallions, macaroni and cheese with chicken, and spinach ravioli are super tasty- but the BEST DISH is the chicken-fried chicken with smashed potatoes!! The desserts are super-rich (we had the chocolate bomb and blondie). Next time, I'll skip the dessert. Really, there is no need with all of the great entrees. Service was perfect. Definitely going back!!

And here's the final of the latest submissions from Mr. Music. And this one comes highly recommended!Started with complimentary homemade pimento cheese and flat bread crackers. I’ve never been much of a pimento cheese fan, but since it is homemade, I figured “what the heck”. I’m glad I did because it was very nice! The menu was very interesting and I knew I’d have trouble making a decision! Luckily the waiter came by to tell us about the local craft beers they had on tap. Mrs. Music mentioned they had Live Oak Hefe and I knew my search was over! Mrs. Music decided to check out the Thirsty Goat Amber from Austin’s Thirsty Planet. Neither of us had tried anything from them before; it was nice, but not really my thing. They have about 5 or 6 local craft beers at Jack Allen’s. They source all their food and drink from local sources in Texas. We thought that was pretty cool and decided we’d try a few things. We decided on an appetizer called “Smashed Guacamole” after belaboring the interesting appetizers like “Blue Crab Gratin” baked with artichokes, spinach and parmesan or the “Red Chile Fries”, “Spinach Gorgonzola Ravioli” or “Carl Miller’s Layered Chunky Queso” with green chili pork, queso and guacamole! Our dish was a very chunky, hardly mixed guacamole, covered in pumpkin seeds and cojito cheese. A little onion, tomato and cilantro were sparsely mixed in; just the way I like it! For an extra buck they throw in a bowl of their homemade salsa; yes please! Oh, the guacamole was delicious! I’ll be making some at home! The salsa was good and had a chipotle theme; but what made it awesome was when the waiter brought in a BIG bottle of their homemade habanero sauce which they make gallons of daily! It was yummy and mixed in with the salsa and guac, excellent! It did need a little salt for my taste, but just a dash. The chips were light and crunchy; yummy! On to the main courses. Music junior went for the 5 cheese mac n cheese and baby music opted for the hand battered chicken strips. The mac and cheese was served with amori pasta. I had to look it up, but was basically long spiraling tubes and were filled with the yummy cheese blend! Everyone loved it! Baby music didn’t love the chicken strips as much as the rest of us; she preferred the mac n cheese. But we thought the chicken strips were some of the best we’d ever had! Mrs. Music decided to check out one of the specials; a giant crab cake made with Texas Gulf lump crab in a mole verde topped with fresh relish made from local greens and corn. She loved it and from the taste I got, I did too! I ended up going with the same Mexican/Seafood/light theme and checked out the “Baja Grilled Fish Tacos”; they were stuffed with red snapper and served with avocado, a yummy fresh slaw and “veggie studded” rice smothered in black beans! Lots of their habanero sauce was used on this plate; by me! The entire thing was fantastic! Our waiter, Aryan was amazing; we talked with him all night. The prices were very reasonable too. We had a great experience and cannot wait to return!Notes: There are 3 Jack Allen locations, the other two in Austin: Oak Hill and 360WebsiteMenuFacebookHours: Monday-Thursday: 11am – 10pm; Friday-Saturday: 11am – 10:30pm; Sunday: 10am – 10pm (Brunch 10am – 2pm)

Amazing. Fresh, locally-sourced food with a menu that reflects the seasons. As made from scratch as possible. Little jars of food "treats" like their homemade pimento cheese. Always packed for a reason. A definite must-go when even near.

Our waitress was very prideful in Jack Allen's farm-to-table food. I had a house salad and the fat jack burger. The burger was really good. The buns were the right kind of soft and the hickory sauce and bacon were a good mix.

I went here for lunch and ordered the 13 sliced pasta which was delicious. It was hot and fresh, the chicken was the perfect texture and it had plenty of sauce with great consistency and cotija cheese on top. The waiter was nice and prompt on refilling our glasses even though he kept trying to get us to get appetizers.

This is a taste treat for your palate. Just way too many options to tell you all but the Mac and cheese with green chilies and the loaded mashed potatoes and the fruit and veggies and the raspberry and lime jam for the English muffins and the pecan apple strudel were simply well. Spectacular. THis is a must. This is not nourishment, this is an amazing trip for your palate.

Not bad at all. I have been twice, and both times have had good food. 1 app was super salty ( guacamole ) but overall, pretty good. The waitstaff is friendly, but doesn't really know what they are talking about. And, stick to beer/ booze - not much on the wine list.

AMAZING. Was extremely hungry on an impromptu trip to Austin from Dallas. It was almost 9 PM and we were trying to find a restaurant on the way. This one was at a perfect location. We got in, looked at the menu and wanted to try everything!!! Unfortunately we were just 2 people and couldn't sample much. I had the special for the day 'Salmon with horseradish and honey glaze with asparagus salad'. It was just yummy! The salmon was cooked perfectly! My partner had the 13 spice chicken pasta. That was real yummy too. It was spicy due to the jalapenos and the cheese used was just great. It had a great flavor. I tried the sage and grapefruit splash. i had never tried sage before with vodka. It was a great combination! All in all a great experience! I wish I had room to try the desserts! :(

Great place!. Best place we have been to in a long time! Drinks were amazing, all of our food, appetizer, dinners, desserts, were amazing! Service was great and very attentive wait staff. We love the fact they are farm to table fresh and local 80% of the time. Fresh and homemade foods. We get tired of the same old same old at all the chain places. This was such a delight. I think we were going to lick the plates it was so yummy. Portions were very good size too. Definitely going back for dinner and dying to try their Sunday brunch, its suppose to be huge!.....make sure you make a reservation, its the easiest way to get in.

Very Good. I was pleased to give Jack Allen's a try this afternoon. Very nice atmosphere for casual dining. I only got a house salad (I was sharing entree's with picky eating daughters.) It was quite small, but the veggies were fresh and the green goddess dressing (homemade) was superb! Wife got the sloppy jack sandwich. The sloppy joe meat was excellent, and the sweet potato fries are the best I've ever eaten. Daughter 1 tried the mac and cheese with chicken. Again a winner. Adult style mac and cheese! Daughter 2 had the nachos off the appetizer menu. They were also good, but the fresh sliced jalapenos are NOT for the feint of heart. The one and only complaint I have is with the complimentary appetizer. Its a tablespoon of a very tasty pimento infused cheese spread with nacho chips. But here's the kick: It only came with TWO CHIPS! Seriously? Even four would have been sufficient. I'm sure it wouldn't break the bank! Other than that I recommend this spot.

Amazing restaurant, easily the best restaurant in Round Rock. I have eat there 5 times in the last month and enjoyed it each time. You can avoid waits by making reservations. They use locally produced products when possible and the chefs make unique specials each night. Chicken fried NY strip was great, chicken fried beef rib was great, shrimp tacos were amazing, appetizers are wonderful and hardy. Happy hour from 3-7 during the week. Desserts are sinful. Even had a bread pudding that used Round Rock donuts as bread. The service has always been spot on and the mood is warm and inviting. This restaurant is in my permanent rotation.

Great food. This is what Round Rock has been waiting for. It has a NYC resturant feel without being snobish. Food was unbelievable.
Sat in the bar area and was served by Sarah...shes knows her stuff about the menu and gave us great advice on what to try on our first visit.
Started with Blue Crab Gratin and Wedgies salad. The Gratin was served with ciabatta bread that is toasted. Weggie salad came with green goddess dressing, bacon threaded on a stick with a chunk of blue cheese. Both were shared and more then enough for 2. Main course of 5 Cheese mac with Achiote Chicken and Chicken Fried anything, we chose the Beef Ribs. They debone a rib and combine it with 2 others then batter & deep fry. This is fall off the bone good. The Achiote chicken is nicely spiced and added to the top of the Mac & Cheese. Both courses were also shared with plenty leftovers to take home.
Meals are fairly priced with a full bar and great wine list.
This will be our new weekly place for dinner.

Whether far north or far south, Jack Allen’s Kitchen is the best eats in the ‘burbs. Their website has a perfect snapshot of this amazing restaurant stating “Local in source, Texan in Spirit, not only in the Kitchen but in the community.” Start off with a signature cocktail, such as the Round Rock Bee Keeper, and share items such as the Bacon Wrapped Texas Quail and Barbacoa Stackers.

First let me start with I HARDLY ever give 5 stars to anyone . But this Restaurant truly is amazing. Beautiful entrance. Very welcoming staff. Our waiter “Dylan” was simply amazing! He greeted us with such great vibes. Explained the whole background of the Restaurant and the foods used from Texas Farms! He recommended different dishes from salads to fish tacos! Freshly squeezed lemonade was amazing ! The dessert was a strawberry and blueberry cobbler with Mexican brown sugar and cinnamon ice cream!!! That is definitely a good choice ! Exceptional customer service! Amazing food !! Can’t get no better then this !!!! MUST GO!

Hello everybody! Dinner went really well. Our reservation was for 5:00PM but we had to wait about 15 minutes passed that time. So when we got seated they put 2 $5.00 coupons because of the wait. They also didn't charge for two of the appetizers and 3 of the 7 desserts were also taken off the bill because we were celebrating my granddaughter's birthday and my son and his wife's wedding anniversary. Everyone ordered drinks more than once so we were really surprised that the bill was only $300. There were seven of us so that breaks down to not even $45 per person. The food is very tasty, made to order for sure and locally provided. They even tell you where they get there meat and produce. Very Texas. Not fancy but very good and well done. Service was excellent. That in itself is priceless.

This place lived up to the hype. I was very impressed. The reviews were all right. The margarita was small but it packed a punch. I ordered the Jack Burger. It comes with Jalapeño Mayo, bacon, cheddar cheese, pickle, and onion. You get the choice or regular fries, sweet potato fries, or get them mixed. Genius! My wife got the crispy salmon. We enjoyed the meal very much. Our waitress was good. The manager even stopped by multiple times to check on us and clean up our table. They have colors for the kids to stay occupied. The bar area is well lit and multiple TVs to watch the games.

Delicious food, as expected. I sampled the crab cheese dip, the chorizo-park medallions and the pasta. All were super delicious!! The server was very nice and brought out some extra complimentary pimento cheese for my dad before our food came out because my dad hat taken some medicine that needed food within a certain time.
