No question, the reason to go is for the clam chowder in the bread bowl. Throw in a pretty good pizza and we ended up with a positive experience overall. Now I would have given thuis place 5 stars, but the person taking my order seemed to have other things on her mind which negatively affected her friendliness, just noticeably.
I did see other customers just ordering bread to take out, so that must be the other reason to come here. Although, sourdough is not my favorite bread for sandwiches or for snacking, I did end up eating most of my bread bowl.
This place is amazing! I got a pick two, half soup half sandwich. I also added a bread bowl for an extra $1. The parm and sourdough pieces that go on top of the soup were the perfect toppings. The sandwich was cooked perfectly and everything was still hot when delivered.
The food is always good, the service is okay. The smell of the sourdough cooking is fantastic, makes you want to sit down with a loaf and some butter. The menu has been getting a bit more diverse, the bread bowls are fantastic, and the sandwiches are good, but things like the pizza and burgers, as you would expect are not the best you can get. Although, the grilled cheese burger is tasty!

This was amazing! The bread 🍞 bowl is a very sour sourdough. The grilled cheese was a brie with apples and fig jam... The soup a rustic 🍅 tomato bisque. It was one of the best tomato soups I've had.
You do need to pay an extra $1 for the bread bowl but definitely worth it!

The food is delicious. My only complaint was I waited for my food and even asked about it and was told I would be taken care of, as I watched my bag of food sit on the counter for close to 15 minutes. Naturally the food I was taking home was cold.
Went during a peak time for lunch(but we did have to wait a little more than usual for our food, hence the 4/5 stars. We watched other people get their food first after we had sat down.), but this place has the best butternut squash soup, came for a date with my hubs. We each got the soup & salad combo, of course in a bread bowl! 🥰
Hands down the best sourdough bread i had and amazing food. The clam chowder bowl was top notch. Visited their location in San Francisco and Sacramento and both were excellent. Definitely will go back again
Came here for breakfast and walked away impressed. They have a fairly small breakfast menu, but I was easily able to find something to try. In my case, I got the turkey and broccoli egg scramble which also came with potatoes and toast. The food was simple, yet tasty, and I was impressed with the portion size for the price. They also had some tasty coffee courtesy of Peet's. Definitely give this place a shot of you're looking for somewhere simple and tasty for breakfast.
