This had been a regular go-to place for me back in the day, but since relocating, haven’t been able to come back. Till just last week when I was back in the area.
The Sun Tavern has always been known for its convivial atmosphere and its great eclectic pizzas. They had a very nice outdoor area set up, which is where I was seated. It took quite some time for my server to come around and take my drink order, and the beer list was not as extensive as I remembered. My server was very nice, but I didn’t see her all that much as the outdoor area seemed to be a bit understaffed, in contrast to the indoor bar area.
I ordered the shrimp scampi pizza, which was an old favorite, and it was every bit as terrific as I remembered. It may sound like a weird combo, but it works.
I left there very contented and will look forward to coming back whenever circumstances may permit.
We've been coming here for years. Our visit yesterday was for a private family event and this go just didn't go that well. Thay being said, management made things right and made sure we left happy. That's how you run a business. Make right what went wrong gets fixed and make sure your customers leave on a good note. Thank you for that. We'll be back.
I really used to love this place bar pie with sun dried tomatoes
Just everything here is amazing especially the gravy fries (people in NJ call them Disco fries lol).
