OK cafeteria-style food.. Not a broad menu here, but it serves a purpose... getting lunch while you're checking out the railroad.
I enjoyed my turkey sandwich, but the wife wasn't too pleased with her burger. The fries were OK, but tasted old... which was odd since we were there at lunch time.
The prices were reasonable, and it's not a gourmet food outlet... so I can't give it a bad review for that. It's a good value as far as it's location.
Cash only, but there's an ATM inside.
I did respect that they post signs warning about food allergies & that they cook using peanut oil. Bonus points for that! (Also, there was no shellfish on the menu... that's always good for me too.)
It was an OK cafeteria-style kind of joint, sadly cash only. I checked out the menu when we got in there, & did ask if they ever cooked shellfish. I was told they didn’t & felt safe. I got a turkey sandwich & Bethany got a burger, and we shared some fries. My sandwich was pretty good… but Bethany wasn’t a big fan of the burger. The fries seemed a little old for some reason. I think we both wished we had just went back to Jakey’s. Ha ha.
We are reenactors that attend the annual Trains and Troops event, and always make it a point to eat here. Despite the unpretentious presentation, the food is home made and very good. As some of us have to watch our displays, forcing us to take turns to go eat here. The chili is what worth waiting in ANY line for, made from scratch with hearty slices of tomato. It takes the frost off of the event every November. Their french fries are crispy and tasty as well; I ate all of mine, and stole half of my friend's. We look forward to the event every year, and will continue to come to the Cafe, and tell every visitor to the event to do so as well.
The food is very good! They have basic faire, hot dogs, cheesesteaks, etc., etc., tons of boardwalk fries! There were kids running it when we were there. It's small in there but lots of tables. Somehow they make it work! Place is nice and clean too! Will definitely be back! Gotta get a whoopie pie! Really good and under $2.50!
Very impressed by the young staff here. When the Thomas crowd thinned, they were immediately out with a broom, grabbing the trash, restocking the cooler. Got a smile and a greeting from several of them. Management here is either lucky to have a good group of self-starters, or they're really serving up the motivation.
This restaurant was outstanding!!! Everyone in my family loved it. The chicken and hamburgers, the cheese, and the best fries we've ever had. Good whoopie pie. Wonderful customer service! Greatly appreciated. Prices aren't bad for the only place out here and being a tourist part. Thank you.
Good food fast service. But small eating area.
Great job during the lunch hour
Thomas and friends and The Loud house ftw miles
