Dickey's Barbecue Pit

From an ex-employee, I haven't been with the company in just a couple weeks now. I do still highly recommend this place. Alot of people fail to realize this isn't a fancy BBQ place, in places like the ones in Kansas City and the other more legendary BBQ areas. It's a good grab 'n go place or a place to sit down at after out doing errands or wanting to go eat out after Church. It is indeed one of my favorites to eat at and I still plan to eat there from time to time. The place is also great for caterings as when we had caterings we always made sure they got their moneys worth. This place does its best to make sure your buck is worth spending there. I highly recommend it and still do.

My daughter got the sweet BBQ chicken and chips. She enjoyed it and actually ate all of her food which is very surprising for her. I opted for a sandwich with jalapeno cheddar sausage and brisket, also Caesar salad and creamy spinach as my sides. The food is pretty good but nothing that really stands out. It was missing something really spicy which I don't think they offer. Washed it all down with the yuengling and my daughter topped her dinner off with the free ice cream.

I have to say for a 4 star on reviews I am not very impressed. For starters all the food was cold. It was around 5:30 PM which you figured would be prime time for dinner. The brisket was overly dry to the point it was like jerky. The burnt tips where so hard they where like rocks and unable to be eaten. The chicken was decent a little on the dry side but edible. I have been all over the country and have eaten around 50 different dickeys. I feel that this ranks on the lowest one by far. It may have been a off day for this place but unfortunately we will not return to give it another try.

I'm very disappointed. I ordered online and sent my husband to pick it up curbside. It was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. It takes that long to get there. My husband actually went to the Lowell location before realizing I ordered from the Rogers location. So upon arriving at the correct location, he was told our food hadn't been started yet! He decided to wait inside and had time to drink 2 beer before they finally had our food ready. It took an hour and 10 minutes for them to have our food ready from the time I ordered it. He said they weren't even busy! It was only 3 meals including a kids meal! Got home and figured out a side and drink was missing! This was our first and last time eating there! Completely unacceptable!
