More authentic Chinese food. The service was very good and polite. The food, while spicy, was flavorful and quite good.

Various spice options, soup tastes like smooth and spice level increases as you eat as it is served hot,
The lunch option makes you choose the right spice level food items with multiple flavors of rice, soup got free with it.
Overall spice levels are 7 out of 10.
Somehow I felt a little high salty as I'm not used to it.

I’ve gone to Peter Chang’s a few times over the years and it is always a treat. The mapo tofu is luscious and very savoury and pairs perfectly with rice. The dry fried eggplant is crunchy and creamy and has a delicious seasoning on the outside with sichuan pepper. The double cooked pork belly is thinly sliced and not too greasy. Dan dan noodles and dumplings were also very good, freshly cooked and flavourful.

As someone who loves Szechuan style food, I love this place. The food, in my opinion, is authentic even though they add a bit of flare and Americanized style to certain things. I don’t mind it. Everything still tastes excellent and authentically spicy and mouth numbing.

Food was great - especially the soup dumplings, golden chicken, and the pan fried eggplant. Only downside was we tried to order some dumplings to take home, which we were told would take 30 minutes, but the waitress forgot to put in the order so we wasted half an hour and never got the dumplings. There was no apology or anything either. Plus there were only two tables occupied in the whole place so it wasn’t like she was busy.

I enjoyed Peter Chang. The wonton soup and steamed pork dumplings were very solid. My main dish was chicken and broccoli. My dad had a fish dish which was spicy in a great way!

Well, we could put down 5 ⭐️. The 1 star missing is because we expected something more that can “wow” us. The typical Sichuan spicy and numb flavor is on the mild side here or we didn’t order the right dish. The restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes, which is impressive. The puffy scallion pancakes are kids’ favorites. It truly made us wow. We ordered two for 3 kids. It goes with a curry based sauce and tastes a little bit like an Indian dish. I loved it too. Other dishes we ordered are tasty. The waiter was very nice. The table size and shape is a little awkward for a group of 6. Not big enough to hold all dishes we ordered and also not convenient enough for everyone to get every dish easily. (Could we have a turn table) We may go back to try different dishes next time we were around there.

Compared to other “Chinese” restaurants, at least peter chang tries to service local asian communities with Americanized Chinese food that’s not too foreign to Chinese stomachs 😅
During covid, the restaurant has offered lots of great takeout options that’s really a service to us and i don’t know how does it make any money. Like a huge bowl of fish in soup is only $8.8 and a gong pao chicken is only $6.6 - wow especially with today’s inflation, i feel like i need to pay more to just buy the material of these dishes!!
Thanks for doing all these great things that offer convenience to local communities. The other dishes I’ve had dining in the restaurant can be of varying quality.

Great food and good value. The food is high quality and made of good ingredients. Ordered water boiled fish (spicy fish filets in a red chili sauce). It’s nice to have filets without a bready crust. Kung pao chicken was tasty with lots of peanuts and numbing pepper. I chickened out and got a “hot spice” level 1. I’ll go for something spicier next time.

This is some of the best Chinese food you can find in the DMV. I love Peter Chang's restaurants and I have been to this location many times over the years. We moved away for two years and just tried this place again after coming back to the area. There have been a few disappointing changes to the menu, but the food is just as delicious as ever. This is a review of our most recent visit this past weekend.
We came around 12:30PM on a Sunday and there were lots of open tables. Despite having only a few tables to serve, the service was a bit poor. The waitresses waited a long time to take our order. At one point one of them even asked us if we were ready to order and we told her "yes." But then she disappeared again for a while and another server eventually came out to take our order. This server didn't write down anything when we were ordering and this resulted in her forgetting to enter one of the dishes we wanted. By the time we realized that last dish wasn't coming, we realized that the other dishes we had were enough food, so we just let it go.
Their menu has become smaller and they took off several dishes that we always ordered in the past, like the lamb skewers and the boneless whole fish with pine nuts. They literally got rid of my two favorite dishes!
We had the bubble pancake, dry-fried eggplant, sauteed cumin lamb, pork shank, and fish filet in stone pot. The pancake was good, but the flavor of the curry sauce it comes with was not as good as it used to be. The dry-fried egg plant tasted amazing, but they were a bit on the soggier side. The cumin lamb, pork shank, and fish filet in stone pot were all delicious. The pork shank and fish in stone pot were on the seasonal menu. The fish in the stone pot was flounder served with mixed veggies (mushroom, broccoli, cabbage). The dish is very spicy, but we really enjoyed it. It was my personal favorite out of everything.
