Food was definitely worth the price!
We had a party of 8 that came in at 7 PM without a reservation on Tuesday night and were seated immediately. Our food did not take too long to be brought out after we order came out and all at once.
The cuisine was more Chinese American and less of what I would think as “traditional” but it was still delicious for what it was! I would definitely recommend the Deep Fried Jumbo Shrimp (deshelled) and the Sweet and Sour Rib!
The food and servers/service were great! Our server took their time to tell us about menu and answered our questions! I didn’t feel rushed or anything even though they were busy. We got 4 dishes and all of them were really good. The beef with noodle( flat noodle) was flavorful and delicious! The green beans surprisingly was super flavorful and tasted so good. The fried rice with chicken did not disappoint but def not the best fried rice I’ve ever had. My favorite was the crispy jumbo shrimp! Soo good and def worth the money! Give it a try!
Update: the crispy beef is phenomenal and it satisfy my cravings if you’re in the mood for beef. Crispy garlic pepper chicken is also really good instead of the shrimp.
The food was delicious, loved the orange chicken. The pan-fried noodles took a while to get served(around 20 minutes). The chicken from the “soy chicken yee mein noodles” was so juicy and tender. The tea that they served was pretty plain but it was free so can’t expect much.
Opened approximated 12-14 months ago, East Pearl launches smack in the middle of the best Chinese/Cantonese/Taiwanese food in the DMV area and it will certainly save us all and our humanity.
Finally, a Cantonese restaurant that pulls its weight in eye-watering, good food and throws the middle finger proud and strong against corporate mono-cultural infesting mega-food-chain restaurants. It's like eating in a good Chinatown here. If you've read this far, then you will want to what what food stands out here:
1. Steamed HK style chicken ..... get it, no argue!
2. Roast pork ..... it comes warm and at $8/half lb, get it!
3. Duck ..... yes, darn it, I'm getting uncontrolled drool now.
4. Fish fillet with chives.
5. Stir fried snow peas shoots in garlic.
6. OMG, there are many others I just want to try.....
7. {Look, you can just order like a pro and just point to other tables and ask the waitress what that is if it looks good ..... because that's how it is done any ways!}
What is most shocking is that they add less than half the salt and MSG to all the dishes so your body won't feel like it's overdosing on sodium and dying for water by the time you get home. Yea, this is making it onto my best Chinese food places to eat Google List.

Great experience here! Great service, friendly staff, food was amazing and from my experience, very authentic.
The BBQ combo was very good, the young chow fried rice was pro a ly the best I ever had and their spices wontos were great!
Can't wait to be back, I highly recommend this place!
The food and the service is great. We ordered couple of items and they were pretty fast in serving all the items. The server recommended us chicken with ginger and onions and it was one of the best item. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. Definitely a good place to dine in and enjoy the food.
5 star for this restaurant! If you're looking for an authentic Chinese food, this is a to-go place. I love their wanton noodle soup, and young chow fried rice.
Always a great dining experience here, love their food! Top recommendations are: Shrimp with Walnut, Deep Fried Spicy Tofu, Seafood Pan Fried Noodles, Deep Fried Spicy Pork Chop and Lemon Grass Beef. Portions are generous and food is tasty!
Thank goodness I live nearby, so the commute is short - because I would definitely be prepared to make a long drive to eat at East Pearl Restaurant 😋.
I’ve been a regular at the resturant for well over a year now, and the food is consistently great!! Having grown up in London where there are many many Cantonese restaurants and visited Hong Kong several times - I can genuinely say that this is the most authentic Cantonese restaurant that I have eaten at in the DMV!
Everything from the wonton soup, to the roasted pork, roasted duck, crispy seafood noodles, calamari and shredded beef is amazing!!
A word of caution ⚠️ I usually get take-away when I visit, because the restaurant is usually extremely busy!! Of course I prefer dining in, but there is usually a 15min wait (minimum). From the other reviews it seems as if they accept reservations. I usually dine alone when I visit, but if I were ever to go with friends/family in the evening - I would take advantage of making a reservation beforehand.
Moved to Maryland a bit over two years from NYC where Chinese restaurants are all over the place....where I live, there are good places to eat. If I want fantastic traditional Cantonese food, I have to travel an hour to get my fix.
The chefs here cook the food, the right way....the Beef Chow Foon, as an example, the flat noodle should always have some searing, the beansprouts are super fresh, just cooked to perfection every time I visit here.
There are so many offerings here that I miss from NYC that all my local places do not make, so an hour's drive it is.
I look forward to many years of eating here and trying as many dishes as I can.
This is a popular place for Chinese Cantonese food. It serves food very quickly. The food, comparing my last visit, was not that fresh. The braised tofu used Chinese broccoli probably stored for a long time, so it didn't taste fresh and hard to chew. The dish size got smaller. The service was good.
Very authentic Cantonese style restaurant. I really really like the dish which is salty egg yolk shrimps. Also I love the salty fish chicken and eggplants. All dishes we ordered are very delicious. There are not many parking spaces. But you can park Citibank parking lot or adjacent parking lot. Worth the visit and repeatedly visit. Highly recommend if you like Cantonese style dish restaurant.

Went for a colleague's last day.
Easy to see from the street but parking was rough. Very small lot but after some manuevering got a spot.
Very authentic Chinese food. Not much for vegans but got the vegetable fried rice without egg and it was delicious. They did not skimp on the veggies and after adding some soy and hot sauce it made it even tastier!!
Highley reccomend for a casual night out.
I went this restaurant with my friend's family and so delicious! Today I went back here with my family and everyone loved to eat here. Food came out fast and just good to eat! Mixed seafood over pan fried noodles, Wonton noodle soup, roast pork(half size), stuffed tofu with shrimp, and Crispy shredded beef was yummy.
Can you believe? 3 adults with one little girls finished them up. Haha...So good.
Authentic Hong Kong style food. Quick service, super delicious food, and good portion sizes, but one of the best parts of the experience wasn't on the menu. Have you ever been to a restaurant where the stuff in the condiment caddy was NOT sticky? (Looking at you, Denny's.) The soy sauce and vinegar bottles were immaculate, a sign that they really take cleaning seriously.
Pics include soyed chicken, N2 干炒牛河, and N5 星洲炒米粉.
Food: I ordered Fried Rice, Orange Chicken (no spicy), Vegetables. To me, it was good. My favorite was the orange chicken.
Service: Fast, respectful, the lady tried to fit my requirements, for example, on the menu said Spicy Orange Chicken, I wanted not spicy, and got as I wished. I appreciate it.
I did carry out, but they have the option to dine in there.
I checked the menu on maps and it wasn't update. Most of the dishes increased $2
