Oh my. We eat pasties on Thursday and I have never tasted a better one. We had the buffet on Friday and it was incredibly good. The choices were great and the desserts were excellent. The root beer was the best I've ever tasted. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The staff even made pasties to go during their very busy Friday night buffet. Thanks to all the people at Henry's!
Good Pasties. Took my three kids to Henry's for first time. Great pasty, fantastic crust, a key to good pasty. Kids had hamburgers with cheese and chicken fingers. Homemade soup was great, a cream of vegetable with ham, never had before, but great. Henry's wife visited us at the table. Pasty Thursdays. Heard make your own pizza on Wed night is good too. Old Saloon on the main street....a must when in UP.
Henry's never inn is in Rockland MI.and it's great eats
The Star of Rockland. Each time we vacation in Ontonogan we always make it a point to drive to Rockland for lunch at Henry's Inn. The rustic ambiance only adds to the flavor. The homemade pastys are delicious as are their homemade soups. Sandwiches are very creative, and they have a good selection of craft and imported beers. Prices are very reasonable. A good experience from start to finish.
Food is to die for! Truly a gem of a place if for nothing else but the history and atmosphere. We live close and will go back. Try the garlic bread! Burgers are scrumptious! Root beer on tap! Yum!
We love everything about Henry’s Inn fantastic food friendly servers and a great back in time atmosphere. What more can a person ask for? It’s a must stop while we are snowmobiling in the UP on Michigan. Kelly & Sheri Gambsky
An unassuming place but dont let that stop you. Food was great! Excellent burger and chicken strips.
Very friendly and very rustic. This bar was built for the miners of the 1890s. Love the Marilyn Monroe art!
Good burgers, and definitely gotta try the famous grilled ham and cheese. Don't forget to say hi to Marilyn in the bathroom.
Only had some simple salad here, but the place is full of history and wonderful decor!
Great little place, good food. Take cash.
Fun Place! Norma Jean (Marilyn Monroe) would love it! There's pictures of her all over the place (especially the men's rest room. Quaint small place but seems to accommodate many. Grilled sandwiches are good, especially the hot ham & cheese. We liked the deep fried mushrooms as well, as a standard bar food item. Great place on the snowmobile trail to grab a quick bite to eat & a nice stop on your way to or from Houghton/Hancock or on your trip up or down the Keweenaw Peninsula.
There is usually a Friday night Fish Fry buffet which is awesome. Unfortunately the owner's wife is sick so that has been put on hold for awhile. Hope she gets better soon. The hamburgers and ham sandwiches were wonderful. The beer is cold and the food is good. It is worth the trip.
My family tries to get as many people together once a year and visit Henry's on a Fri/Sat night. We usually will pack the place with everyone else and it's a great time! You eat til you can't possibly eat anymore. Tons of different options and all are very tasty! Not a place to go if you want a lot of personal space but I personally love the environment.
Great food. Locals are friendly so are the bartenders. Place is usually busy but if you don't mind waiting you're going to get good food. They have build your own pizzas on Wednesday nights and they have an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord on Friday and Saturday nights. Everything is a home-cooked
Got a burger after a very, long trek on the north country trail, ending just 3 hilly miles away from henry's inn . Burger was great. But guy sitting next to me got a ham sandwich... Stacked. Food envy...bartender was perfect. Good drinks, smiles, and conversation. She was the cook to boot.
We love Henry's! Everyone is friendly and the food is good. While they've stopped doing the different buffets, e.g. "Build Your Own Pizza" "Italian Night" and the "Friday Night Fish Fry," we got wonderful, hand made burgers and fries. The atmosphere is unique!
Nicely located off of the ATV trails. We’ve been here before and the prices were just incredibly expensive but our most recent visit was pleasant. The prices were fair and the food was good. Lots of choices in alcohol. Also one of the only restaurants in the way upper Michigan area.
We went here after a long day of adventuring around the area hoping for some decent food. Turns out it was smorgasbord night and we were just in time for the perfect resupply! Loads of delicious fresh food of all shape and size. Wings, ham, chicken, salad, dessert, veggies, I can't remember everything I ate. All I know is we were full afterwards. Definitely worth a stop, if only because it's the only joint in town! The interior is nifty too.
Some of the best food in upper Michigan. Hopefully Sally and Henry come back soon. The bartender that was helping us was not very professional. They have one of the best buffets around but they aren't doing it as of now. Hopefully they will be bringing it back soon.
