Sam's Deli 2

Very nice clerk, great little “rural New Jersey” stop. I enjoy more “rural” convenience stores like this. It almost reminds me of home (Texas) with the setup and politeness of the clerk. Some people who reviewed this place negatively (especially lifetime concrete-dwelling city folk that have no idea that 92% of America is rural) expect every place to be like a brand new Wawa or Quickcheck and complain about the dumbest inconvenience! Very nice people. Will be back. A gentleman in front of me bought some soup, and the lady took great care in making sure his soup was well-packed. I appreciated that and the soup looked delicious.

Visiting friends in NJ, we ordered sandwiches online from Sam’s 2. It was a totally random pick from the Google browser. The order was a brisket sandwich on a sub roll and a corned beef and turkey (with coleslaw, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing)Sloppy Joe on rye bread. Without exaggeration we got 6 large servings from these 2 sandwiches. We really could have gotten 2 more servings, but they were so delicious, we ate too much. The bread was very fresh. The meat was lean and more than generous. The coleslaw was crisp and fresh and not too wet. We are from Connecticut, and I can tell you there are no delis of any kind there that serve sandwiches like this anywhere near our home. Are Sloppy Joes a NJ thing? I should mention that these really big sandwiches were under $9.00 each! Unbelievable! So Sam’s 2 will see us again when we are in the area. Great!!!
