I love this place!! Great food and great people can be found any day at this hidden gem in Rockaway, NJ. There is live entertainment every weekend and Tuesday night karaoke is always a good time!
I always enjoy my meal there, and I've been going regularly to eat at Shenanigans for over two years. If someone had a 'not so good' experience, there had to be 'out of the ordinary' circumstances going on. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the regular patrons are very loyal.
The food was awesome, the bartender friendly and even though they were Jets fans they were rooting for the Steelers. Off the beaten path but worth the effort.
It's my husbands & I favorite new get away. It has a Great atmosphere, people and food along with music. A comfortable and close to home establishment. A cozy home away from home feeling. When you want a great drink and reasonable priced food, Shenanigans is the place to go.

This was my first time here for my anniversary with my husband. This Bar restaurant is a tiny well-hidden gem. The food was excellent and the service was very good.

I absolutely love the environment! The people were the best! We came on karaoke night and the clientele never stopped singing... they had a great taste in music and truly accept each other. The drinks were fantastic and the service was superb! THE FOOD WAS WAY ABOVE BELOW BAR FOOD STANDARDS! It was the BEST disco fries I ever had! Eall the food was amazing. I can not say enough great things! COME CHECK THEM OUT!
I recently moved into the neighborhood, and really love this place. The bartenders are great, the patrons are great, and the food is awesome. I've come a few times, and both times I've eaten were just amazing for a small place like this. Everything is seasoned well, the sauces are great, and I've had nothing but very fresh food. Even on a slow night, it's still a good time at Shenanigans! Highly recommend this place to anybody!
Fantastic food. Fresh, made to order and delicious. Owner knows her stuff and is very accommodating. Makes a great martini as well. I ordered the rib eye cooked medium rare with sauteed onions, spinach and mushrooms. Very tender and delicious. 5 stars all the way
We went to Shenanigans last night for the first time because we were visiting family in Rockaway and needed to eat. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food was good. I especially liked the Buffalo wings. A big thank you to Helen and I didn't get the name of the other lady but a thank you to her too. The Karaoke DJ had a great voice and the karaoke singers did a great job.
In a word — amazing. This place is so much better than it looks from the outside, y’all (Kind of a random location.) I’m currently sitting in the restaurant and vowed to leave a review when I got home but a bit worried about forgetting, and this place deserves the review.
I ordered Chicken Murphy, my husband steak - medium rare. As soon as he got it he commented that it was the most well-prepared medium rare steak ever, since normally places prepare medium rare steaks as medium well instead. He said “it’s so declicious I forgot about my beer.”

Beyond that, service is amazing. Food was brought in timely fashion. They brought out salad and (very warm) bread immediately. That bread was great, and I don’t generally like bread. Prices are very reasonable. Excited about adding this place to my regular haunts. Yummy!!!!
Really good food, pleasant, cozy atmosphere, enough space to be comfortable. I was with a group, and had some issues getting my check handled so U could leave. There is a parking lot, but I missed it in the dark, and ended up walking up the block, around a corner and through a catfight on way back to my car. Nice, safe neighborhood. My husband would love this place, so we'll try to get back soon.
A truly hidden gem in Rockaway Borough. I don't know what the last person was eating at. It is a truly clean and has great food. I have been a patron for years and never had a bad meal. Staff is like family and wait on you hand and foot.
Went to the Irish pub that used to be in this spot before it became Shenanigans (can't remember the name at the moment), and didn't care for it and never went back. Decided to go with two co-workers over the Christmas break, and enjoyed it greatly. Prices were in the range you would expect for bar food, and the owners (or at least I assume they were) seemed like lovely people. I'll pop back in at some point.
So happy to be back to enjoy their Thai Calamari! I just told my husband that I don't need any fancy restaurant to celebrate moms day... I just want savory delicious food and this is the perfect local place for it! Great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Came here for the first time tonight on a whim. Absolutely delicious! I had the chicken marsala dinner, which was probably one of the best marsala dishes I've ever had. And my husband had the Ruben sandwich, which was generously sized and also very good! All in all, we highly recommend Shenanigans and will be back.
The best chicken Marsala and chicken parm I have ever had!!!!!! And I dont even eat chicken parm... It is my girlfriend's favorite here! Also, the potato soup is to die for. The owner is an absolute gem and always always always has a smile on and very good about keeping up with all of the customers. I will always come back here, because it feels like home!! Shenanigans is a hidden gem tucked away in Rockaway NJ. This is one of my favorite places to eat and hang out. The food is always outstanding, especially the pulled pork and burgers. Candy and her crew are always friendly and Gerardo does a great job with all the meals. Come Tuesday nights for karaoke and a great time with a great people.
One of the few places you can still hear live music...plus, great food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. Who knew you could get a really delicious steak in Rockaway? You can't beat the quality of the food, and the huge portions. Generally enough to take home for another meal. Yay! Off the beaten track, but worth going...
