Nice little restaurant in an old house. Waiter in the style of Dickens novels. The food is tasty but not perfect. The dishes themselves are very beautifully decorated . The restaurant is quite consistent with its rating 4.2. The big minus is the uncomfortable tables and chairs.

We decided to have a wander round Rochester, as we both had a day off work and discovered this lovely restaurant. They do a set menu for lunch which my boyfriend had, and I went for the a la carte option. We both had a beetroot and goats cheese salad to start followed by a lamb shank and a cod and chips. The food was really delicious and well cooked, and the portions were very generous. We'll definitely be back. The only reason I've scored four, and not five stars, is the background music was a selection of awful cover versions, which as music lovers we both found ourselves cringing to!

Service was amazing, our server Louise was lovely and couldn't have done more for us. The food we had was really good quality, home made pate and pork. Only minor critiques would be to say that the menu is maybe a bit too eclectic for my personal preference, there didn't seem to be a clear, consistent motif throughout the menu. I ate in the downstairs area, again personal preference would maybe be a bit more ambience with the lighting (felt a bit too bright), and could maybe benefit from a facelift in terms of decor. However, food was great, wine was great, and the service was first class.

The restaurant has changed names and is not Candlelite anymore it is a Tapas Bar, they did inform me when I rang it had changed names. It had only been open 2 days when we visited it on Saturday July 31st with our friends. We had a lovely evening there the food was good the staff were very attentive and polite and helpful. The only suggestion we made was that the tapas dishes should all come out together not one or two at a time. But I would definitely visit again.

This is a nice, traditional restaurant in Rochester. We went on a Sunday and they had a really good value menu (where else can you get a Sunday roast for under £10?). The service was attentive by our waiter and the servers. The food was delicious, but perhaps a little dated and unusual (there was a fish roast to choose from). The pie I had was a very unusual shape, but was packed full of beef and really tasty. The music is pretty awful (think bad lift music from the 90's), the decor is dated and the furniture uncomfortable. But I'd reccomend this place still for a decent meal.

We had a nutritious Sunday afternoon lunch yesterday. The fish dish was well-prepared and the dessert was divine. The portions were just the right size. Our young waiter, whose name I don’t know, was delightful and charming, as well as our (drink 🍷 serving) young waitress. I would not hesitate to visit again. Thank you - lovely view over the high street, people watching!

Food was amazing had fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection it just melted in the mouth great quality food. Menu was a good choice to choose from from starters to desserts, wine was also very good . We will definitely be back the owner even came to see us out of the restaurant what a lovely man he was too. This restaurant deserves to do well we would score it 10/10 . Well worth a visit.
