First time visit today, decided to stop by this gorgeous place as from the outside looked quaint and pretty. When inside wow the place is beautiful. Old wood and the atmosphere feels so luxurious. The service is outstanding although so busy staff were smiling polite and really seemed to enjoy working , I know from experience this isn’t always the case, but the staff really gave off happy vibes. Then the food came and my goodness from presentation to taste every mouthful was out of this world. I’m not one for writing reviews but felt I honestly needed to share this gem of a place. If you’re passing you definitely need to check this place out. We will be back soon 😀

We came to Rochester to visit the Castle and Cathedral and stopped here for a bite to eat. We sat outside as it was a sunny day and shared a sourdough toastie, some chunky chips and some aubergine chips. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

me and a friend stopped here for a catch up over a cup of coffee. but the atmosphere as well as the service were so long belt that we stayed for both lunch and drinks too. All thanks to michelle, our lovely server; she helped us with personal recommendations of the menu choices as well as being super informed on our dietary choices and what would suit us best. we are so thankful to her for everything and she really helped make this an incredible experience. food was lovely and we got the best wine thanks to michelle. so greatful. thank you

Cracking place which does as the same suggests amazing cheese and meat boards.
Split into a restaurant with a little bar at the front the place has a cracking selection of beer, local wine and spirits.
The menu is great with something for everybody.
Suggest booking if you can as it gets very busy

Wonderful interior. Great coffees and cake. The waitress, originally from South Africa was very friendly. My only gripe was that I didn’t stay in Rochester long enough to have lunch or dinner. Will be back.

First time in the botanicals usually fully booked. Wow. Now we know why. The deli down the road is excellent but this is another level and a great place to sit with the fire on.
Some excellent options to choose from including their classic toasties!
Vast range of drinks!
Attentive service.
Sadly non-accessible due to the building being so old.

Have been here for lunch and dinner a few times now and I won’t stop going back! The food is delicious and the service is always super friendly. They also have a brilliant selection of beers and stouts (as well as the gins!) that you wouldn’t find everywhere else. Love it!

We initially stopped her for refreshments but then we decided to order the "French Cheese Board".
Every cheese on the board was flavorful, velvety, smooth and satisfying.
Later, we decided to stay for the small plates served starting at 5pm. And boy. We're glad we did.
We ordered the Eggplant fritters, the Korean Chicken Skewers and the Duck Spring Rolls.
We savored every single bite. The food was simply superb and pure deliciousness.
A big thank you to the owner for serving quality food that is served with love and care.

Dropped in with the family for a relaxed lunch. The food was really tasty and service was good.
We sat by the door and saw a lot of people arrive and seem a bit unsure how to proceed - to wait for service or to go and take a table? Staff seemed fed up of being asked, which was a shame and didn't give a great first impression. However, stick with it, head on in and it's a little gem in a lovely part of historic Rochester.
