The Streamliner Central Restaurant

It's been several years since we ate at the Streamliner because we moved out of state. However, this visit was a bit disappointing. First, we asked to sit at the counter like we always did, but with Covid, they no longer allow that. They also still had every other table blocked to keep people far enough apart. We even heard a larger group come in and ask for a table for six, but they were told they had to sit at different tables because they're not allowed to pull them together. I applaud them for continuing to try to keep their customers safe, but come on... most places have let that extreme measure go by now. We specifically stopped for pie. We used to drive nearly an hour just for the pie (apple for me and sugar cream for my husband). My husband said the sugar cream was good, but my apple was disappointing. It was dry and bland. We were only there for a short time. The service was decent... friendly and quick. The place was clean. It was a weeknight around dinnertime, so we expected a bit of a crowd, but there was only a handful of customers.

Stopped in for lunch while driving through to Michigan. First visit, we ordered the pork sandwiches and my son got a hamburger. I don't know if the server was not clear but she explained everything came plain or there was an extra charge for toppings and condiments, except lettuce, that came with the sandwiches. The hamburger was cooked medium rare (yuck) and the pork was cooked fine but who eats a plain sandwich and what restaurant charges for condiments? Would not recommend.
