Mamma Mia Tuscan Grill

First time there and it will be the last time! The service was extremely slow!! It didn’t bother me that we received our dinner salad before our appetizers, but when our waiter said he would bring out our appetizer it took a half hour for just that. And the dinner itself took a very long time after the appetizers! We were there prior to several other tables yet somehow they received their meals before our table. When the meal came finally – my husband’s meat portion was frozen! We were told that they food is made fresh daily but they didn’t cook the meat thoroughly … and we were still charged for it! I ordered a pasta with basil cream sauce, didn’t think that could go wrong but it did not taste good at all! My dish was supposed to have asparagus and another vegetable but all I found was a few pieces of sun dried tomatoes. I had to add extra salt to give it some sort of flavor. We will never go back!! I’m not a picky eater but I seriously didn’t think any restaurant could screw up Italian food.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food was delicious. The downfall is the service. Server clearly didn't know what was on the menu, told my husband the greens that came with the gnocchi were "flakes of lettuce with no taste" (sounds appetizing, doesn't it?) My husband's pasta was brought with the wrong sauce after being told he could order it the way he requested (with meat sauce) and was then told they couldnt make it that way when he questioned why it wasn't made how he wanted.The table next to us also complained that their order was wrong. Server quickly took our plates after eating and brought the check without offering coffee or dessert (which we were interested in). Definitely felt like we were being rushed out. We would like to try this place again if the service improves.

Went there for a mothers day dinner today. HORRIBLE SERVICE. It took 30 minutes for our waiter to get to the table. Then It took another 25 minutes to get our water. Then , after complaining, we were offered a free appetizer. We had ordered 2 so the third was really not needed but we accepted. The head chef and a manager came out and apologized but service continued to be terrible. Our food was very good when it was finally delivered to our table after 2 hours. During all this time our waiter failed to bring our soups and salads. again the chef came out and offered free deserts which we again accepted but we would have rather had our salads and soup . There was no financial adjustment offers for not serving the salad and soup that were included in the price of the meal. A trade for one appetizer and 4 deserts did not offset the price in my book but, we had been there for over 3 hours and it was not worth the time to argue. All of the food was good and the Chef and one manager were very helpful but I will never go back. The food was priced for what you would expect from a higher end restaurant but, the service was something you would expect from a low quality establishment. They were not very busy either.

Went last night for dinner. Walked in and it was desserted. Nervously approached the hostess stand and a very friendly man approached and welcomed us. Had our choice of any seat in the whole restaurant. He assured us we would be highly satisfied as first time customers. I believe he was the owner. Next we were greated by the chef himself. He actually cooked and served our meals to us. No waitstaff? The food was delicious and plentiful and very reasonably priced. The only complaint is that my husband wanted a certain dish and was told that they "ran out". It was Sunday evening dinner time and we were absolutely the only people there????? We also thought a side salad, at least, should come with your dinner. It was just the pasta and that was it. Would go again to try the sausage and peppers my husband wanted. Hopefully they will have it since it is supposed to be made fresh, in-house, every day.

This was my third dining experience at Mamma Mia, so I have definitely given them a chance. The service tonight ( a Wednesday) was unbelievably, agonizingly, slow. Though seated promptly, we waited and waited to order. Then, we had to wait and wait before getting anything to eat. Sorry, but I shouldn't have to wait almost an hour before getting bread and a salad (mediocre). It makes one predisposed to be grouchy when receiving the entrée. My husband's pollo Genovese was just ok when it finally came (one hour and five minutes after being seated). My Tuscan salmon was very good. I would have liked to add salt to the spinach on it, but there was no salt or pepper at the table, and of course, our waitress was nowhere to be found. I had forgotten that on trip #2, they really messed up my son's order. His replacement food didn't come until the rest of us were done eating. The restaurant is very nice, and has lovely ambience, but the service is really awful.

7 of us ate here tonight and the entire experience was really terrible. The food took over an hour to be served and when it came, 2 of our party were served about 10 minutes after the rest. The meatballs in the spaghetti were cold, the seafood in the frutti de mar was very strong; not fresh, even my wife's chicken dish was bad.

Almost left the restaurant after reading all the poor reviews on yelp and Google not to mention the fact that it was only us and one other couple in entire place on a Saturday night. But decided to stay and very glad we did. Food was great, and you will be taking leftovers home. They have a new cook as well... we will be going back!

Veal Piccata, Veal Piccata, Veal Piccata, YUM! We had a great dinner there last night and it was (come to think of it) the best Italian food i've had at a restaurant, outside of Italy. Our app (the muscles) and dinners were prepped and made fresh - we could faintly hear them pounding the veal in the back as it was so quiet at the time. The atmosphere is wonderful and my date and I even got to enjoy our desserts (homemade ice cream/sauce) and remaining wine seated in front of the fireplace. Score. The new owner, Ed, is awesome and made us feel quite at home. I think their secret is fresh ingredients and an owner and staff who care. Thanks again Ed and we look forward to coming back. -G
