Finding local cafe closed on Mondays got us wandering over to the nearby coffee shop. Besides the expected freshly roasted, brewed classic and specialty coffee, tea, smoothie drinks and baked goods, a breakfast and lunch menu was available. Our Ham & Cheddar Quiche was a nice slice of cheesy, tasty egg bake with chunks of ham and flaky crust. Our choice of side was soup, salad or fruit and we enjoyed the grapes, pineapple and cantaloupe. Supposedly served with toast or house bread, we got a plain bun. We also enjoyed their daily vegetable soup that was thick with mixed pasta, chunky carrots, tomatoes, corn, celery in a lightly salted broth. That too included a plain bun and crackers. Outdoor seating got us enjoying the beautiful day.

Actually these comments regard Blue Plate Diner which is part of Dunn Brothers. We enjoy Blue Plate for the quality and variety of breakfast and lunch meals (dinners are very limited in selection). Food quality has been excellent. Their pecan and caramel french toast is unique and spectacular! Parking right in front of the door.

This Dunn Bros shares a kitchen with The Blue Plate next door, so the food is not your usual better than "coffee shop" fare. Great coffee. Friendly staff. A little outdoor seating by the parking lot. The Elton Hills bridge is still closed as of 6/22, complicating access; approach from Broadway.

main point: caramel pecan French toast listen...i absolutely LOVE this place. i tell everyone that they have the bench French toast in town, specially the caramel pecan French toast. it is by far my favorite place to eat breakfast or maybe even any meal in town, and that's saying something because i love food. seriously, you HAVE to try the caramel pecan French toast. such a great portion size for such a great price. go do your tastebuds a favor! and eat local!

Longer wait now that many are ordering meals. Bread pudding had reasonable price but appropriate since it was not a large portion. Good but not as good as some others. Dark roast seemed a little bitter, I couldnt read what variety it was. Ask for milk if desired, you can't put in your own. Took me a few minutes to find utensils, they have a dispensing machine- first I have ever seen. Back to the drive thru for me, but with the bridge closed even that is rare.

Kind of a confusing location. The menu is shared with the restaurant in the same building. You pull forward for the Dunn brothers window and drive around to the other side for the restaurant window. I'm sure for locals, it is very convenient. For an out of towner like me it was just confusing. First time at a Dunn brothers and I learned that the infinite black cold press coffee is incredibly bitter. Won't try that again! Perhaps I'm more of a cream & sugar style coffee drinker. #NatsJourneys #KCFoodie #CulinaryAdventures #ExploreYourCity #RochesterMN

Breakfast with my wife before looking at alpacas. Luckily the Blue Plate Diner food is also available on the Dunn Brothers side.. I'll admit to preferring the cozier environment on that side. Beef brisket tater tot hash.. at 13 dollars it wasn't the cheapest thing on the menu but you get a good amount of food for your money.. the brisket was tender, the eggs were done to my wishes and while my wife wished the bread had been toasted harder the bread was excellent. The spiced eggnog steamed Nirvana made a good counterpoint to the hash, and it was a pleasant time.. not too loud, busy enough without being crowded, and we had enough time to savor the coffee before our meals arrived. Next time, breakfast poutine.
