Review Zeezee's Vegan Restaurant - Roanoke

The food was amazing here - we ordered take out for the pizza cheese steak, chicken parmless, and the wing entree. I don’t have one bad thing to say - everything was delicious! I highly recommend the pizza cheese steak. Would eat here all the time if I lived nearby

I had the best vegan sub here! It was so good that it didn't even seem vegan. I had the citrus rib tips sub and the soy protein was made in a way where it had the texture of beef. Amazing!!!! The seasoned fries were awesome as well. 😋

Wanting to support restaurants with vegan options was what brought us here. The bread on my grilled veggie sandwich was good tasting. It was sliced through allowing some of the contents to fall out as I lifted the sandwich. The heat of the veggies melted the vegan mayo which joined the juices and oils from the grill in a stream dripping from the sandwich, creating a bath in the plastic basket the food came in. My first bite seemed to be all vinegar and salt, but I eat very little salty food, so I kept going. The flavors of vegetables finally came through, but the amount of salt never abated making this sandwich one that I will not have again. My wife's sandwich was good, but again very salty and the "chicken" was quite similar to the real thing. I was going to give ZeeZee's 3-Stars, but I tasted the mac and cheese. It was horrible: weak flavor, slimy texture, overcooked pasta, and corn. As if all that was not enough when I asked for water I got room-temp tap water in a wax coated paper cup and they had no ice to add to the nasty water. Strike three.

Some of the best and only vegan food I have ever had! I will start by saying I am not vegan, but I guess the more colorful signage and the trendy name caught my attention while walking around downtown. The gentleman and my guess owner behind the counter seemed more serious then friendly and asked if I was picking up. Being newer to the market square i immediately was questioning things. Like if i was supposed to order at the counter or place it over the phone or on an app. I told him I was just wandering around and would like to order. He took our order and it wasn't long before it was ready. When I got my food I immediately was surprised at how normal it looked. The chicken steak sub was so good. It tasted so much better then "normal" food. The texture was different as I felt after being thoroughly chewed it became chewy and less flavorful. Which wasnt something I personally would say as a deal breaker. I started questioning why I wasn't vegan. I will definitely be going again!

The food was really good, but there wasn’t much of it. The quantity felt very meager for the price we payed. The stir fry also didn’t really have any good sauces. The food was very tasty, but not very filling.

It's such a relief to have a plant-based restaurant in Roanoke. Fantastic food that taste great for everyone who's hungry, and not just non-meat eaters. I'm still working my way through trying everything on the menu (it's so great to be able to say that's even an option as a Vegan), but everything I've tried so far manages to exceed my expectations. Highly recommend the Philly, Cajun fried "chicken," and the cheesecake.

Always fun to find a vegan restaurant and ZeeZee's has an interesting menu. We each had the kale and mushroom sub and they were delicious. Since we are just passing through Roanoke we sadly won't have a chance to try one of ZeeZee's other subs. The portobello mushroom sub peaked our interest as did several others. For those of you who live around Roanoke - give ZeeZee's a try!
