Excellent Indian food. I enjoyed the butter chicken and garlic naan. We ate lunch there and the service was quick and friendly with no wait.
This was our first time to this restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint. The inside is clean and modern. There are two floors and we got to sit on the top floor which is a nice environment. I love Indian food and this place is delicious. I got the butter chicken and a mango cocktail that had real mango flavor in it. My bf had the Taj Mahal beer and spicy tikka masala chicken. They have spicy levels to choose from. I believe it is mild, medium, hot, and spicy. I got mild and my bf got spicy. He loves spicy but Indian spicy truly is spicy. I could tell it was really getting to him, but he didn’t care because the food was so good. We also got garlic and garlic and cheese naan bread which is a must when ordering Indian food. It was so good and great to dip into the sauce of your meal. Rice does come with your meal. Service was quick and efficient. I enjoy that when you’re ready to pay, the server has a hand held card scanner and can immediately check you out. Also, I took home my food for left overs and the chicken still tasted just as good a day later as it did in the restaurant. Definitely recommend this place!
Overall it was great and we will be returning! The fried fish starter and the Saag were the stars of the show!
We got there around 5:15 PM on a Saturday night and we’re immediately taken to a table. We left around 6:30 and the lobby was packed, not sure what the wait was like so my suggestion is to go earlier in the evening.
Atmosphere-4-: Loved the atmosphere here, the hand painted mural upstairs was amazing. The seating area on two floors was a cool touch too.
Service-4-: Service was enough. Not amazing not terrible. We got what we needed and weren’t interacted with beyond that. I would have loved a little more interaction/suggestions in the beginning etc. One thing to note is they actually bring your appetizer BEFORE the rest of your meal. I appreciated this a lot as it seems most restaurants these days tend to bring you everything at once.
Saffron Sampler-4-: The fish was AMAZING on this starter! The sauces were great. The vegetables/chicken weren’t anything special, we really got this platter to try several things. Takeaway is the fried fish will be our go to in the future.
Chicken Tikka Dosa-4-: This wasn’t my favorite, but my husband really enjoyed it. The different textures made it more interesting.
Coconut Korma Lamb-3-: It was good, but not great. The lamb was a little tough and the curry lacked flavor.
Chicken Saag-5-: This was one of the best Saag’s I’ve ever tasted! It was SO good and creamy. Definitely recommend.
Naan-4.5-: We got the garlic cheese and sweet naan both were great!
New to Indian food, but definitely our favorite place to eat now! We get the chicken tikka dosa (amazing) and their chicken tikka masala (also amazing). Service is also great.
Spice is life! I have been to some lackluster Indian restaurants recently, and yet Saffron Circle truly knows Indian food and does it really well. So many menu options. We ordered the Lamb Vindaloo, spice level hot, and Saffron Assorted Grill. We tried the Samosas and Papadam for starters. We got the Mango Lassi and Rose Lassi for drinks.
Take a look at my pics. The spice is there. The flavor is there. Delicious food. The service is prompt but not attentive. If you order a starter, the dinner arrives soon after. It felt like the intent was to turn over the table as fast as possible. But we weren’t rushed. Overall, worth the visit and we certainly plan on returning again.
The staff (Francis and team)is really what has me coming back! They are great set of people, sweet, wonderful and always working hard. Its always busy place but employees are so nice and great. Francis is the best. Just love the delicious food and variety of food over there!!
The food is amazing. I had butter chicken and my husband had the saffron mix kabobs. Both dishes were great. Absolutely love their garlic cheese naan. The service is always on point.
Amazing buttered chicken — the best I’ve had in Utah. Chicken tikka masala was a good contender as well. Just really, really pleasant flavors. A bit expensive.
Absolutely amazing in every way. Service was excellent. The location is great and the restaurant was very clean, inviting and set up so you can see the tandoori cookers. Super neat. All the food was amazing and the portions were huge! We recently moved to SLC and this will be our go to restaurant for Indian cuisine. Yes cuisine, not just food. Man just writing this review makes me wanna drop by for some more!
This place was incredible! Literally everything we ordered was so beautiful complex with flavor. I’ll definitely be coming here regularly! We ordered the Saffron Sampler, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, Garlic Cheese naan, Sweet and Spicy naan and the Masala Chai! All soooo good! 👌🏼👏🏼
Up there with the best Indian food I’ve ever had. It was amazing. My only issue was that the restaurant is COLD. We did go in November but even the servers were wearing beanies and jackets. Everyone in the restaurant was wearing coats. There is NO warm place. However the food was amazing. Definitely order the chaat.
Had Ghee Dosa and it was delicious.
They’ve good menu!
I had to wait ~40 mins for my food which was kind of disappointing, but the taste compensated for it!
Very good food. Loved the finish out of the place. Very clean. Had the Tika Masala with chicken, spicy. And Spicy is SPICY, almost fire. But it was real good. I should have done the notch below, but it was so good. I ate in anyhow. It was so good. Good portion size also. My sister had the Coconut Korma. She liked it. The Garlic Naan was on point. We had the combination appetizer plate. It was all fried. Maybe too much fried. But everything was good. So were the dipping sauces. (Forgot to take pic of appetizer). I would definitely recommend. I will come here again.
My husband and I were so impressed with the food. Omg it was sooo good! And the service impeccable! We also liked how modern the place is.
Fantastic smells are free and get my mouth watering. I always get the mixed grill (medium) and some garlic naan. My better half gets the butter chicken curry (mild) and sweet/nutty naan. Consistently delicious.
If you are visiting or passing by Salt Lake City area and looking to have delicious, soul satisfying, mouthwatering Indian food but also not burn a hole in your pocket, then the restaurant Saffron Circle is the place to head to, particularly their Riverton Utah location.
My partner and I were there few days ago while visiting SLC, and had the best experience ever.
The restaurant was super busy & packed, we knew why later - the awesome food is proof for it. In spite of being busy Vaishnavi one of the staff members did an exceptional job of communicating, and managing about 15 new guests waiting to get a table.
She was clear in her communication and provided a correct estimate of the wait time. She even did an awesome job of taking care of different requests that were coming in for take-out orders at the same time.
We were able to get a table in about ten minutes of getting there. Vaishnavi did a great job of taking down our order and even made sure to confirm the chronology in which we wanted our dishes to be brought to the table, which typically isn’t a detail one pays much attention to especially during rush hour or when a business is short staffed.
The food was amazing, every dish we ordered was made perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. Again, I need to mention this because though they were busy, the chefs and restaurant staff made sure the taste and quality of the dishes did not receive the brunt of it.
We also got the opportunity to have a short chat with the restaurant owner (forgot to ask his name), and got to hear about the history of their business. He was friendly, and open to all feedback/comments we had to offer which is a good sign for a business.
The decor/interiors in the restaurant are also tastefully done, I have to mention the retro Bollywood movie posters in the restroom! Cool idea, and a great way to take a walk down memory lane.
Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants to add to your list to visit in the U.S. Special mention and many thanks to Vaishnavi and her team for managing so well and making sure customers were not disappointed. You guys need to have more locations of Saffron Circle especially in other parts of the country, not just in Utah :)
Thank you for making our experience so memorable, we are glad we decided to get dinner at Saffron Circle on a whim.
I have been to saffron circle many times and the food is great. We almost always get Frank as our server and he is great. He always gives us the best recommendations and he is alway extremely kind. He is one of the main reasons we go back so often!
Wow!!! It was really, really amazing Indian food and excellent service as well. I’ve wanted to try this establishment for a while being foodie and enjoy Indian food. It’s up there with business like the Bombay House. Great aesthetics and ambiance atmosphere. Also wanted to add being disabled veteran. The handicap parking is directly in front the of the store with a ramp and wide doors to provide I say more then adequate handicap accessibility. You will not be disappointed.
