Oh My God
I have not had this good of food in a long time!
Growing up 30 miles north of the Mexican border, I got really spoiled with the delicious homemade food at my friends house.
But let me tell you it was like stepping back in time!
My mom had the Loaded Nachos.
I had the Shredded Beef TACOS 🌮 😋!

Wonderful service, conversation, and of course excellent tacos with shredded beef nachos! The shredded beef was layered perfectly with alternate layers of beef, cheese, and chips! The tacos had an excellent helping of shredded beef and a first where the shells stayed intact and not soggy! Loved the presentation too on the tacos!

We stumbled upon this family owned restaurant and were highly impressed! Everything was delicious and flavorful. We had chile relleno plate and carne asada and birria tacos and they all were equally delicious! I’m so glad we found this authentic Mexican restaurant in Rio Rancho. We definitely will be returning. My pics don’t do this amazing food justice.

My wife found this diamond in the rough of a restaurant in Rio Rancho, and believe me when I say that. I ordered the posole on a rainy day and it was delicious. So far the best I've had here in NM. My wife & daughter had the crispy taco plate and even that was good. No burnt tortilla shells here like other places. Beans & rice were authentic home made. So Gracias El Agave we definitely will be back to try the rest.

Very tasty food, and great,attentive staff. We will definitely be returning to sample more of the variety of choices on the menu. We liked the taste of the salsa and fresh chips. We also thought the green chili had a great flavor while not being overly spicy, allowing us to really taste it all. Lots of choices, something for almost anyone.

I get takeout from El Agave somewhat regularly. Their tacos are fantastic, and my wife usually wants a taco salad. Taco salad isn’t on the menu, but they always accommodate and my wife loves it. Their salsa is always wonderful; I usually get a big container and save for later. Great family owned restaurant. Highly recommended

First time here and wasn't disappointed. Most of us had various tacos and found them to be quite delicious. Their salsa is good and tostadas/chips are better than most. Prices are reasonable and service was very good. Great little find despite being hidden in the strip mall.
