BEST! 5/5 Service,Food, and Prices!. I would rate EVERYTHING a 5/5, In Richmond, Indiana, near Dillon Drive at Carrige House, There was this waitress named Dezeree, If I spelled her name right, She came back at least 3-4 times the whole visit to see how we were doing. Even on her way back to get some food for others, I estimated in my head, that the chicken filet tenders with both of the sides would feed 2-3 homeless people. 5 Tenders, alot of fries, a plate of mash potatoes. That's what I chose, the Mash Potatoes wasn't good to MY tastebuds, so i wouldn't change the food score over that. Basically, Me and my mother ate at least a homeless family of 3-4's worth of food for $26.07, Still reasonable, we would have given better tip, but $3 was all my mother had in cash on her. Would have given Dezeree at least $4-5!
Now that is an omelette. I had the Carver's omelette. It was excellent. The service was great.
Sharon. The stuffed cabbage is out of this world. I was in town on business and Reid Hospital staff member recommended Carvers for lunch. Services was great, food portion large and very tasty. I wish I could get their recipe for the stuffed cabbage.
Not perfect.....but pretty darn good. : ). That sums up our experience. We were in Richmond on business, and wanted to find a local place to eat instead of a chain.
Carver's is part Denny's, part Greek restaurant, part small town diner.
I often don't like these places that can't seem to make up their mind, but in this place, it works. A very complete breakfast menu (served all day!) and a very nice lunch and dinner menu also.
Holly chose a "make your own" omelette, with spinach, mushrooms, and cheese, and it was very light and fluffy. The standard omelette comes with 6(!) eggs, she chose the half size, and it was still huge...but being very light and fluffy, it wasn't overpowering.
I had a patty melt steakburger, and the meat itself was simply outstanding. The onion rings, while not great, were very good, and the French onion soup was average.
Service was well above average, with a waitress who was quite attentive without hovering over us...in these days, that's a fine line to walk.
Price was what I would consider a bargain, and the restaurant, especially the restrooms, appeared to be squeaky clean.
If I'm looking for high class dining....I wouldn't stop here. But if I'm looking for a solid meal, at a reasonable price, in a clean, comfortable atmosphere, this would be at the top of my list.
