We had plans of going somewhere else last night only to realize they were closed so we decided to try The Amsterdam. We definitely ended up at the right place. Our food was amazing. I had the duck which melted in my mouth and my husband had the burger which he devoured. Don't miss the mussels! The drinks we also equally great. Our server Ryan was top notch and she really made the experience. And upon finding out it was my birthday she even surprised me with a dessert! We will definitely be back.

I have seldomly experienced such amazing culinary arts. The food was tastefully composed & was a true feast for everyone’s taste bud. It was without any doubt worth the 1.5h drive upstate. The cherry on-top was that the restaurant has amazing interior design.
Loved every bite! We ordered a beet salad and we also ordered a plate of the goat cheese with what we think was orange marmalade and blood orange and then we mixed it into the salad. It was fantastic! My burger was the best I've ever tasted.
Food was delicious! Wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The mussels were on point! Will definitely be back! Can't wait to eat on the new patio!
My daughter, my girlfriend and I had dinner together on 07/01/2017 at The Amsterdam. My main take away from the experience is that the food was Excellent!.
The only negative take-away was that having a conversation with your fellow diner's was a little difficult due to the poor acoustics of the room (high, steel ceiling and hardwood floors caused everyone's conversations to just bounce around the room). They need to install some sound absorption materials to deaden the ambient noise.
That being said, the food and the service really were incredible! We had 4 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 deserts and everything was delicious! Ryan (our server) was very attentive and personable... she made sure that we had everything that we needed and answered all of our questions with a smile.
All-in-all it was a great experience that I highly recommend if you are in the area... we will definitely be back!
Loved everything about the restaurant. Casual, upscale atmosphere. Friendly staff and tallented chefts. Sat at the bar and had great conversation all night with the highly skilled mixogolist behind the bar. Apps and dinner were fantastic. Tried a number of desserts and all were world class. Will definitely put The Amsterdam on the must do list whenever we visit the area.
This is definitely a place not to miss. The attention to detail is amazing. Service was impeccable. The food was prepared exactly as ordered. From appetizer to dessert it was that good. Make a reservation as soon as you can. Cannot wait to go back. Thank you again Jeff Turoc and staff for a wonderful meal and warm environment.
I couldn’t find a single thing to dislike about this restaurant. The ambiance is beautiful, the service is amazing. And the food. Every element on the plate was perfection. Even the fries with the burger, which we tend to think of as an afterthought, were delicious. The shining star on the table though, was the cassoulet. Duck confit, wild boar sausage, crispy pork belly over a flavorful bean stew. Easily in the top 5 dishes I’ve ever eaten out.
This was one of the BEST culinary experiences I have had in a long time. The servers worked in perfect harmony to create an experience that embodied the meaning of hospitality. On top of the service, the food was delectable, well portioned, beautifully plated and locally sourced. Please do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Their menu is seasonal but I recommend the ricotta & chorizo for starters.
Amazing food and service. Stopped there for a brunch. The place wasn’t busy when we walked in, so we easily got ourselves sits by the bar. The food was delicious!! They bake buns in the house. Everybody is extremely sweet! Loved this place, will definitely come back!
One of best meals I've had. Really fresh farm to Table. This is 5+ stars. Sometimes I give 5 stars to places, but after this meal - I realized I need to raise my standards. Autumn salad was amazing, chicken dish outstanding. Only slight disappointment was that Brussels were deep fried, but I ate them regardless. U can see they are pretty charred in the photo I posted, but they were OK.

I tried their Amsterdam Burger which was absolutely delicious with the Raclette cheese that it came with. I had the meat cooked medium rare which made it extra tender and juicy. The side of bacon I ordered, was the cherry on top, cooked well and not overcooked to be crunchy or burnt, just how I love my bacon. Their fries was also amazing and went very well with the dip of ketchup and garlic aioli sauce that came with the plate.
Their service was also quick, friendly and responsive. I would definitely go back if I were in the neighbourhood.
One of my absolute faves in a town that is not lacking in fine restaurants. Very friendly staff, nicely-prepared dishes with a well-curated menu. I recommend the items captured in pics I have included (sautéed spinach was super fresh, Brussels sprouts are genuinely world-class and the pork chop with vegetables was absolutely delightful. Nice red burgundy by the glass which has good complexity and balance. The steelhead trout is another winner for sure (I recommend getting the trout without the mole).

OH. MY. GOD. AMAZING!!! We had one of the most transcendent dinners of our lives here! First off, everybody who works here is so sweet- the hostess who greeted us, the bartender who mixed delicious drinks, and Fletch: the most charismatic, warm GM! Fletch immediately made us feel so seen and welcomed into the Amsterdam family; he, and the wonderful waiters, kept checking in with us and helped tailor our time at the restaurant so that each dish, and each drink, was perfection! Every single dish was scrumptious and gorgeous, the wine Fletch chose for us was unforgettable! (We gave him free reign to pick what he thought would pair best with our meal, and we are so glad we did!) Fletch had heard it was my birthday, so when dessert came, he, the waiters, and other regular patrons of The Amsterdam all sang Happy Birthday: Best. Birthday. Ever.

Superb dining experience — service and food. The duck/pork pate was a superb starter. The duck with fois gras and pluot mind-blowing. Very large veal portion. Sea Bass excellent. The Creme brûlée was lovely. Only slight ding: The banana bread pudding was just a slightly elevated banana pudding.
