This is a gaming themed place, so while it describes what things are, all the stuff on the menu is named with a gaming and fantasy theme. Takes you a minute more to get through the menu because of the gaming theme, but by far, everything else about the place is amazing. They make almost everything from scratch right there and it's all done really well. They also have a 1.5lb steak for the hungry person, or a multi-pound burger. The best thing about the place is that the staff are amazingly friendly and seem to love their jobs through and through. I'm here on business for a week and I'll probably be eating here at least 5 more times before I go.

I really enjoyed my trip to AFK with my friends. The prices are a little high, but, the food is really good and big portions as well. I ordered from the 'create your own pasta adventure" thing with the vodka sauce (firebat sauce?), and it was delicious. I was really impressed at the quality of the food and how big the portions were, I ended up turning my meal into 2 1/2 meals. All the waitstaff and bartenders we saw were all very friendly, and it's nice to be able to play games while you eat or after. My friends and I are definitely planning to make another trip out sometime.

This place is better than the original for me. It's an hour closer and everything is new, so it's that much better. I went with a group a couple weeks after it opened. We made reservations to be safe. The place was busy, so the reservations definitely helped. I ended up going with a spicy chicken vodka dish, it tasted great, wasn't too spicy, but filling enough. One of my friends had to wait for their burger because the server forgot to put it in, but the manager came out and righted the wrong by taking it off the bill and offering a dessert. Food was great, but the wait staff had seemed a little inexperienced. It's probably not a problem now that they've been open for a bit. We ended up staying for a couple hours, grabbed a console and played some Smash Bros. The perfect place to do so.

It was fun. I enjoyed the fact that you could check out board games and play them. My friend and I went and met three cute girls and we all played a boardgame. I know that sounds nerdy and lame but it was a lot of fun.
The people that say that the food is pricey are correct but it's for good reason. My friend and I played 3 games over 4 hours and the staff acted like it was normal. If that's a common occurrence then it is reasonable to assume that the bar accounted for the extra time you would be.at the table
The two complaints I have is that the wait time between the waitress taking our order, bringing us the food, and checking with us afterwards was extremely long. This could be explained by the boardgames but while.your eating if you need more to drink it can be a long wait. The second complaint is that we had to wait for a table when the restaurant was nearly empty and we weren't allowed to sit in the bar because there was an event happening 3 hours later...
All and all I enjoyed my experience a great deal and recommend it to others

Well... There is a variety of drinks.
Unfortunately that's the nicest thing I can say about the place. Service was slow and dull. I feel like they hired people to fit the geek/nerd theme but didn't require that the people be skilled in the customer service department. The mozzarella sticks I ordered were gross to be honest, my salad tasted like it was grown from Hagrids garden and was also not good. My steak was decent but my fries tasted like they were microwaved from a bag. My friends tater tots tasted the same way. Only one person finished their food. No one in my group of of nine was impressed by anything. Especially not by the TV we were placed in front of that had a "weak or no signal" box bouncing around the whole time.
This part is just me being picky; I'm a really fun person, I'm also a 'nerd' but there's a drink called the "pedobear" and I think that's tasteless. There's nothing cute or fun about a play on pedophilia. Call me crazy.

Been here quite a few times because I have friends that love this place. Three of them go weekly to play Rock Band, and always ask me if I want to go. More and more it's been, "nah, no thanks...have fun you guys." This is because every time I go it seems like the service and food get worse, not better. Last time was the last straw for me, after over 20 minutes of waiting around starving we had to ask for help from the bartender. One time we literally got no help for an hour, and had to get up to ask for help.
There are three things I look for in a place I may go to regularly (in order of importance) - good food, good service, and atmosphere. The AFK has some atmosphere, sure. The other two, not so much. I can't fathom spending my hard-earned money on a regular basis for mediocre food and shoddy service just because there's some cute posters and menus.
All these people that think the food is amazing, fantastic, excellent, etc. must have an extremely low bar for food, or maybe it's just better bar food? One time one of the guys with us ordered some sort of Orc thingy. It looks like 4 cans of Hormel chili piled on top of a mix of burger trimmings and condiments with a burger patty somewhere in the bottom. For like $12-15? I've had food from all over the place ranging from terrible to amazing...the food here is nowhere near amazing.

Huge potential here. But it's not immersive enough from the nerd side of things. The waitresses are not only often impersonal, but cranky too. They disappear for way too long, and have messed up my order 4 of the ten times I've gone there. My mozzarella sticks were still frozen one time. All that said, the food is AMAZING, with tons of options, and one of the bartenders is awesome. Tons of potential here, just questionable execution so far.

Pro: huge list of good and fun drinks. There's karaoke. The food is good.
CONS: They force you to give them your card upfront before you order because they don't trust you. They don't print enough drink menus for everyone, so good luck trying to order one of their "unique" drinks. The service is bad, took them 15 mins to even notice we sat down, our waitress would disappear for hours, then must've left because the bar tender had to come get our checks and assist us (he was great btw) the food took a very long time. The decor is a bit lazy, they call it a "gamer bar" but all they did was put up a few posters that they probably found in a dumpster behind gamestop on the walls. It's pricier than it should be. There's definately promise here for it to be a great bar, but it's clouded in bad service and unorganization.
