Great little hole in the wall Mexican joint. No table service, almost completely self serve. Order from the menu board on the wall, get your drinks and sit.
Be prepared for the interior. It is clean but very small. I saw a fire department sign for 25 occupancy but counted only 16 chairs around tables and a small alcove.
We really enjoyed the chips and salsa. Both chips and salsa were fresh made and very tasty. Salsa is more in the salsa fresca vein than hot salsa.
The wife and I both ordered tacos. Very good. We will go back and try other offerings.
Really tasty food. I had pork in green sauce and it was delicious. Too large to finish, they gave me a doggy bag. I will go back again next time I am in the neighborhood and try something else. Very friendly staff as well. Highly recommended.
First time trying this place out and for lunch I ordered the Chicken Taco Salad. Let me tell you, it had my taste buds booming! Very delicious, chicken juicy and flavorful and they crisp up the shell when you order! Yum!! Big pieces of avocado, which I am a fan of. Can’t wait to try this place again.
My son and I have been on a quest to find the best Mexican food joint in reno and as of right now this place is so far out in the lead you'd have to actually go to Mexico for something close to as authentic, and delicious as chavelitas. They have a variety of Mexican dishes and the family atmosphere reminds me of sitting in my family's own back yard.
Oh and their the first Mexican restaurant i have found in reno that serves an authentic mole as well. Seems hard to find and it is amazing!
Fantastic! It's a small space though, so try to beat the lunch rush. Great menu and several bottled beers.
I asked for the Menu, and they had many tasty option, but they have an Special the day I visit them: "Huaraches" I ordered a Horchata as well. The drink was the best one I tried so far around many places!, and I honestly was not expecting the size of the Huaraches! so Tasty and delicious, after leaving my Truck to maintenance I found this place in Mill St. looking for tacos and found a place I will visit again!
Good food and wonderful owners! We had a great time eating and getting to know the owners during their downtime I will make a point to come back next time I'm in Reno
