We were beyond impressed with this new Indian restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, DE. As natives of Pittsburgh, PA, where there is a large Hindi community, we eat at Indian restaurants quite frequently and believe we have some of the best in the country. To put it plainly, Indigo measures up against the best. Authentic Indian cuisine offered up by a business owned and staffed by folks from India, and a welcome addition to the Rehoboth area. Our party of six was blown away by the ambiance from the moment we walked in; it was clear a great deal of love and attention had been put into making the feel of the place authentic. The staff were incredibly friendly. We had chai, mango lassi, and spiced tea to drink, and for food we enjoyed the butter chicken, the tandoor chef's specialty, chicken jalfrazie, aloo saag, shrimp biryani, and chiken kurma, in addition to the usual naan. The side of rice was the perfect amount for the food we got, and that it came with a side of chana masala was a nice surprise. The Papadum was something we were accustomed to from our favorite places in Pittsburgh, but it came with a third dipping sauce that was an onion tomato blend which was outstanding. We were also thrilled to be told that the chai was free refills. Price-wise, it was no worse than any other Indian place I've ever visited; about $20 a plate. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. They were on top of every detail. The owner stopped by our table himself several times to see how things were, and even chatted with us for a good while. Overall an absolutely outstanding experience. If you're looking for something in Rehoboth that's outside the standard beach fare and outside the standard "famous but bad" pizza on the boardwalk, check out Indigo by all means. You won't be sorry.

We had the distinct privilege of dining at Indigo this evening. I have been coming to Rehoboth Beach for vacation for over 10 years, and this is quite possibly the best meal I've ever had here. The tandoor chef specialty was amazing. The chicken literally melts in your mouth. The chicken jalfrazie had great heat and amazing flavor. Go to this restaurant immediately if you haven't been yet!!!

This is hands down the finest Indian food I've ever had. I had the aloo saag which was vegan but still creamy and brightly flavored with ginger. I sampled the butter chicken, the tandoori chef's special, chicken jalfrezi, shrimp biryani, and the chicken Korma from my family who were also there. We had garlic naan which was wonderful. Everything was amazing! Hopefully I will be back to Rehoboth again and can come back!!

An absolute gift to Rehoboth! Fantastic food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere. I had butter chicken, which was delicious, and my husband had a great lamb dish. Garlic naan was warm, crisp, with just the right amount of fresh garlic. I loved their chai blend, and I was stoked that it comes unsweetened so you can sweeten to your own preference. The carrot pudding was perfect finish to our amazing meal. This place is sure to be a staple in town, and rightly so!

This place is a hidden gem right on the main avenue in Rehoboth. Don’t let the take out facade fool you, there’s a full dining room in the back and they have a tandoori oven where their food is prepared fresh daily!

Absolutely loved everything we had here. Been a few times and it is very consistent. I've eaten at some of the best Indian restaurants from San Diego to New York. This is tight up there. Albeit a bit pricey compared to other Indian restaurants, it's definitely worth it. Don't let the prices scare you. You won't regret it.

Amazing new addition to Rehoboth's restaurant scene. Had Vegetarian, Lamb and Salmon dishes.... all to die for and delightful! Perfectly seasoned to our taste... 5 was a 5 and the 9 was tasty and lots of heat for my taste...

Of course the company I was with ensured that lunch at Indigo would be fun. On top of that though, our service was wonderful. The food was delicious. Very nicely seasoned. The wait staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The portions were very generous. I will definitely return. Having moved from Northern Virginia, I really have been missing Indian cuisine. Indigo is a very nice addition to the restaurants in Rehoboth.

I had the eggplant and it was delicious! They also have a full wine menu. The atmosphere was very friendly. The owner was actually walking around socializing with guests, bussing tables, etc. Very nice experience.

I went to the buffet with a friend who also loves Indian cuisine and we thought it was spectacular. Great lentil soup (Dal Shorba), pakoras, naan, vegetable korma, and butter chicken. All of the dishes were fantastic. I'm sorry I can't remember any more names of the dishes. I thought the price was great.

The owner is real, the food is great. I can swoon enough. I stepped into this place with no idea what Indian cuisine was all about. But damn! I'm all in.

It is great to have another ethnic restaurant here at the beach! This family owned and operated restaurant is wonderful, food is very well prepared and the staff and owners are the friendliest folks, especially Mr. Kumar!! As the dishes are normally prepared, it's not as spicy as other places in a more diverse environment (read as it's toned down for the locals) but you can have them adjust the spice/heat to your liking and if you say very spicy (indian spicy) it will certainly get your attention.

The restaurant is unusual and lovely, the food is great, and chefs and staff seem well able to accommodate the range of food sensitivities and dietary preferences, e.g., GF and vegan, while satisfying the tastes of everyone else. We really love the covered deck.

This is some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. It’s so affordable, and the service is absolutely incredible. Everyone was so nice and always made sure we had full water glasses. This place somehow has never had a wait when we’ve gone but they deserve all the customers. Absolutely check this place out next time you are at the boardwalk!

We were in Rehoboth Beach for the day and were looking for outdoor dining. We thought we’d try Indigo and we were totally impressed! Very pleasant staff, and every dish was perfect! They are excellent at getting the “heat” level just right. I asked if they had Mattar Paneer (my favorite Indian dish) and was told they could make it, even though it wasn’t on the menu. I was worried it would not be very good as it wasn’t something they regularly make… but it was AWESOME! Could not have been happier. My wife got lobster in a curry coconut milk… incredible. Wish we lived close enough to come back!

If you like Indian food definitely give this place a try!! My husband and I always struggle with ordering Indian food because I love it spicy and he likes it very mild. Some restaurants don’t know how to make food mild enough. Indigo understand that you can always add heat but can’t take away. We ordered the vegetarian sampler- Samosas were not spicy at all and out of this world. The insides were so flavorful and the crust was flaky and fresh! The veggie pakoras (fritters) were tasty and cooked to perfection! For our meal we ordered shrimp masala and saag paneer. The saag paneer was good but the shrimp Marsala was out of this world delicious!! This is now our favorite Indian restaurant (food and service) and we will definitely be back whenever we visit Rehoboth again!! Tip: If you think Indian food is “too spicy” give this place a try. They will make it mild for those who don’t like the heat!!

We have been looking for a great Indian food restaurant since we moved from Baltimore about six years ago. We had a favorite in Baltimore that we more or less compare everything else to, and this place is the only real competition we've come across. The atmosphere in the restaurant is at the higher end and the service and friendliness of the staff is phenomenal. We look forward to eating there again very soon.
