Always come here when I'm in town. Food is delicious, authentic, well priced and service is top notch. Everyone that works here is so lovely and treats us so well. Great place to take people for business as well. You won't find food like this in most places.

Had lunch. Beef and tofu. Extremely satisfied. Extra green onion. Real pepper. I do not mind msg, but might ask for allocation next visit. Point being: there WILL be a next visit. "Popcorn Chicken with Special Pepper Sauce," recommendation has my interest.

To be honest I don't really see the appeal. People have talked up this place and I finally tried it to my disappointment. I love spicy food... maybe it was my order choice this time? I went with Chongqing Chili Chicken which I assumed was popular, Mongolian beef, and fried rice. It was spicy but didn't really feel any depth to the spice. Both dishes kind of tasted like whatever hot oil they use and chili pepper. I also tried a plum juice thinking it was just juice and either I just don't like plum juice, I got the wrong thing, or it was mixed with some tea. Idk maybe I'll try a different order down the road.

Alright they are going for the authentic Chinese experience. That's cool, except for the excess of oil in the dishes, the distressed dining room. The portions are large, so best suited for a big party sharing dishes, otherwise you won't be able to order a diversity of dishes, or you will end up with food for a week. Music is very loud, as the waitress explained to us she doesn't want to hear the customers who talk all the time. Wow! Waitress was either overwhelmed or distracted. Offered us extra napkins they forgot to bring them. Very basic plastic drinking cups. Basic quality rice. This is the place for the authentic but not the refined Chinese cuisine. Definitely matches the everyday Chinese restaurant experience in the mainland.

Delicious, authentic Sichuan food. Get the mapo tofu, popcorn chicken (boneless), and raindrop jelly for dessert.

Edit: (based on owners comments) Originally we had posed that there were mislabeled options when we thought that the eggplant dish had fish sauce in it while still being on the vegetarian section but apparently that is just a mistranslation and it is in fact vegetarian. I'm sure that if we had it in the sauce it would have been better (because it would have been made the way it was intended). There were not many vegetarian / vegan options but the staff was happy to help modify some dishes to make them vegetarian which was really appreciated. They also mentioned that the styrofoam cups were just temporary and that once they have a full staff they will switch over which is appreciated. Either way it is good to see that they are putting in efforts to do well.

This restaurant has opened for some time but last weekend was the first time for me to visit. Their service was good and every server was attentive to our needs throughout our entire stay. They also have a reasonably small menu which is a good thing in my opinion. This helps limit the choices for customers and the kitchen staff to focus on making the dishes good. The dishes tasted good and I think they had a good grasp of Sichuan cuisine. The issues I had with them was that their dishes were on the expensive side. It isn’t that I think all Chinese restaurants should be on the cheap side but given the price they charge, there are better options out there than Spicy City. If their prices are slightly cheaper then I think I will visit more often.

First time trying Spicy City and we were impressed! It's hard to find an authentic Szechuan restaurant. I used to frequent Spiced in Bellevue but since its closure, I haven't found a decent Szechuan place in Redmond/Bellevue. Spicy City is legit!! It brings me back to my visits to Chengdu and Chongqing. The star dish was surprisingly not spicy but rather, the Yang Zhou fried rice - lightly seasoned but packed full of flavor from the pork, shrimp, vegetable. Second place was the Chongqing chicken - amazing, perfectly cooked, just the right amount of spice and you know it's legit when more than 50% is chili pepper. I highly recommend it and I can't wait to try other dishes.
