Tropea Ristorante Italiano

We ate take-out Tropea last night (all six dishes were wonderful) and were shocked and saddened to read that the restaurant was destroyed by fire early this morning (14 Jan 2022). Our prayers are for the owners and employees! We are praying they will recover quickly! Maybe they can set up out of a temporary kitchen for a while while they rebuild? Or take over 8976 161st Avenue NE? We love this place!

I have always loved this restaurant and it is by far my favorite Italian restaurant on the Eastside. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Absolutely wonderful pasta dishes with fabulous sauces. Had a canoli for dessert that was also delicious. I love that it was not too sweet. My only caution would be choose your wine carefully as I asked for a recommendation and was suggested a bottle, which tasted fine, but was also $70. It retails for $17 at total wine and more. I understand there's a markup at restaurants but this seemed a bit excessive. I still highly recommend this restaurant.

Took take out first time from here. I can say one of the best Italian places. Quantity of each dish is good enough for 2 people. True Italian. Seafood Risotto and Gnocchi was so good. I was very excited to visit this restaurant and being able to dine inside again was a pleasure. Our server was great and the menu choices where outstanding! They where very busy with takeout so that's maybe the reason for my disappointments. I didn't receive my soup till after the entrees where served which is not that big a deal but I was a little disappointed in my Veal Marsala the sauce was outstanding but the one huge very tough scallopini was disappointing. The side of spaghetti pomadora was also a disappointment because it lacking any real flavor. Bland. My kids and wife thoroughly enjoyed there dishes of a pesto penne, calamari spaghetti, and linguini Alfredo with shrimp. This is a very delightful restaurant and we will return to sample more.

Еhe staff are very polite and attentive. I ordered Carbonara Pasta. The paste was a bit greasy for me. The 4 cheese Pasta (my friend ordered) was good. If you cannot eat the entire serving, you can ask about the “box to go”. The staff can bring you a box and you can shift the rest of the food yourself, or the staff can shift the food yourself.
