Ackroyd's is preparing to move to a larger facility where they can prep more of the delicious options they offer. I learned that they will continue the order-ahead and curbside pickup or delivery model even in the new, larger facility. The items we purchased were top quality, and Ackroyd's knows their business well. This was our first purchase, but I suspect we will place more orders now that we have sampled some of their options. Our Premiere League Football (soccer) Brunch was elevated by the bangers, rashers, and clotted cream to accompany my homemade scones.

I am 51 and have been going to Ackroyds since I can remember. My grandparents were from Ireland, they loved the rashers of bacon and banger sausages. Also the baked goods were a taste of home for them. The prices don't bother me, you pay for quality! You get 8 round meat pies for $32.00. 4 dollars a pie, throw mash and mushy peas on top with gravy you could sell that at a resturant 12 to 14 bucks. Stop being cheap the quality is worth the price!

I have enjoyed the foods from Ackroyd’s since I was a boy and they were located on Schaefer Road. Old man Ackroyd would always give me a treat when I was there with my dad picking up meat pies and cakes. We always had a steak pie for our New Years Eve dinner with out fail. Ackroyd’s was a big part of the Scottish community in the Detroit area and a big part of my growing up. It was my dads link to the old country. It is a part of my heritage and became part of my daughter’s loves about her heritage and Detroit. I have gone from being a local customer to a National customer now that I’m not traveling to Detroit and live in Colorado. I have lived in many places in the US and always looked for Scottish fare and been nothing but disappointed. Ackroyd’s set a bar beyond what any other can achieve. Mine is also an emotional to the wonderful memories I’ve been given over the years by the Ackroyd’s tradition. Thank you!

Always a perfect place to buy lunch or dinner. Meat pies are great in the microwave for one minute if at work. Oven is best for a crunchy crust but we love them so much we can not wait. The deserts are addictive and remarkable. This place is worth the drive from anywhere! They ship too. Yes, try this place you will love them.

Super fast curbside pickup. No longer inside counter service. They are/have transitioned to online only or curbside only for the locals. Excellent bakery!

Gone down hill. Raised their prices to ridiculous prices. I use to love ordering from here because not many places ship British items. The company has gone down hill though. Price gouging at it's finest. My package arrived and was warm and the millionaires short bread has decreased in size about 3X. It's tiny and $15! It also states it's 7OZ, but with packaging included on my weight scale it's 6OZ, which is still ridiculous to charge $15. I wouldn't purchase here, you'll be disappointed. I'm sure I'll receive negative retort from the owners on my review with excuses and rude comments as they've done with all the other one star reviews. Seems like they can't taken ownership for any negative feedback and it's always the customers fault.
