Dave and Eve are awesome hosts! Of course the rooms and home was immaculate and Red Wing is a quaint and beautiful location on the River, but the way they welcome you and make you feel like part of the family is the icing on the cake! Breakfast was sooo good and the time they spend sharing the history of the home and surrounding area was quite fascinating.....my wife and I took a short trip to Frontenac State Park for some cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Excellent views of the river bluffs! This was a much needed get-away and we felt refreshed when we left. Thanks again Dave and Eve for the superior hospitality!

What a wonderful place filled with wonderful history of Red Wing. A beautiful and charming place. Dave and Eve were excellent hosts. Three course gourmet breakfasts with baked French toast casserole, egg quiche, Belgian waffles, and other delights (recipes available). Easy waling distance to historic downtown. Dave and Eve also provide great suggestions to area food, attractions, and other historic places. This is definitely our first stop when we return.

Wow. This place is amazing. The attention to detail, the decor, and their hospitality is over the top. Owners Dave and Eve are so friendly and caring. They make sure everything is perfect for your stay. We stayed in the Butternut suite. First floor room. It was so inviting. Two person whirlpool tub was relaxing, and the bed was so comfy by the fireplace. They serve you a 3 course amazing breakfast that was superb. Wine, crackers and cheese served for happy hour in the evening. They have a great veteran discount also. Cant thank them enough for our stay. Will be back and highly reccomend staying there. Call in person and talk to the owners about booking.

We had a very nice stay over the Labor Weekend. The owners are super hospitable and accommodating. Upon arrival we were presented with assortment of cheeses, snacks and wine. We missed scheduled breakfast but were still offered the meal. The owners had a couple of very nice conversations with us. Rooms are spacious and inviting. The place is in the center of Red Wing but in a quite area. Highly recommend the place!

If my wife & I could give this place more stars we would. The owners Dave & Eve were such great people & the 3 course breakfast was amazing! We stayed in the Butternet Room & loved relaxing in the library one of the 2 evenings we were here. Both mornings we had such great times with the others that were at the table with us. We are very busy with work, parenting, etc & this was the perfect get away for us. Truly amazing! Thanks Dave & Eve for welcoming us the way you did.

We don’t stay in bed and breakfasts very often. We aren’t really that social and have our normal haunts that we like to go to in Red Wing. But as luck would have it, our normal hotel was booked, so we gave the Candlelight B&B a try. The room we stayed in was spacious and cozy at the same time. We had our own bathroom and the bed was really comfortable. They are located with walking distance of all our favorite locations. Breakfast was amazing! The owners were so attentive. They seemed to know when you needed help and when you just wanted to explore on your own. HIGHLY recommend!

This Bed and Breakfast inn is as beautiful and charming as any I’ve ever seen. The historic architecture, trim, decor is perfect. The comfort and cleanliness is as good as the finest hotel. The meals are imaginative and tasty. And the hosts are delightful! I’m coming back!

Best value! You get beautiful three course breakfasts, a soft bed (I haven’t slept so well in a long time) and an historical setting that can’t be beat. Better than any hotel by far. Our whole family stayed. It was a short walk or drive from town, but you won’t want to leave. Best for 2-4 night stays.
