Seemed to be a popular place with a packed waiting room before they opened. We got the $13 taco salad which was pretty good and massive. $5 for a local IPA was also tasty. The chips and salsa were so so (salsa watery) but they were free. Nice atmosphere and staff and were able to be in and out within 45 minutes. Glad we stopped in.

Wow! Delicious! The food was great.UST MAKE A RESERVATION. My mom had the enchiladas and a chili relleno - and it really hit the spot. My dad ordered the same but added a beef taco to the combination- and he couldn't finish it all but he thought all was authenticluy fabulous. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas and wow was I impressed. It was marinated mushrooms with peppers and onions with rice and beans, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and don't forget the tortillas. Man alive that was a lot of food to eat. The price was good at $16 -$20 per plate.

Just go! Live a little. Order the stuffed Sopaipillas. Get it Christmas-style. Eat the chips. Have more salsa. Enjoy the warm, friendly service. Take a friend. Buy a t-shirt or a hat. This is a love family place. Grab someone and go.

On vacation for the 4th of July, 10 of our family members ate here. We started off with chips and warm chunky hot sauce. We enjoyed the flavors of the sauce. Then ordered mixed drinks and beer. We ordered various different types of entrees from stuffed Soapapplias, quesadillas, enchiladas, stuffed burritos and then ended the dinner with huge Soapaplias. It was a great experience. Our server Janie was awesome, she took care all of our needs. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

You know, I don't really think of great food when I come to Red River. I'm just really glad that they were open tonight. Not much is open consistently during off season.

I have liked this restaurant since I was a child. I should have gotten the stuffed Sopapilla like I always do . I got a combo plate with 1 beef, 1 cheese enchilada, and 1 chili rellano. The rellano was tough. The beef and cheese enchilada were good. But the margaritas and Sopapillas were great. And the honey butter is as good as they allway were. We will be back .

Most friendly, helpful, wait staff in the state. This place is a must stop when in RR. Food is authentic NM. From the chips and salsa, to the margaritas, to the entree…all top shelf! I can’t wait to turn T-giving week.

I have to say that Christian, our waiter, was absolutely amazing! He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and was so personable! The food and atmosphere were great but Christian made the evening better than ever! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening! Mike and Brenda Moore Ft. Worth, Texas

Look, this is the best restaurant in New Mexico for the locals, so please don't mess it up. If you go be respectful and don't act like a tourist, the food is very spicy it's kind of a New Mexico thing. Go in order anything it's all awesome. My personal favorite is the stuffed sopapilla. Just understand this is a Red River institution and needs to be left alone and enjoyed as is. This is honestly my happy place, so please feel free to enjoy it. Just don't mess with it or whine about the decor or the uniforms, and don't you dare complain about the heat in the food. Great place, but if you can't handle the heat in the food, don't go it's supposed to be spicy.

Family comes to Red River every 2 years and always have dinner one night here. Great food! I do suggest getting a reservation. Do have to say, the salsa has changed and not for the better. Otherwise very good.

Janie was our waitress and she was excellent 👌👌 We ordered the ribeye & the combination #1. Both dishes were superb. This place is a favorite by both locals and tourists, so get a reservation.

Superb experience! We got in and out within an hour. The enchiladas were yummy. The wine-arita was delightful. The sopapilla was the fluffier and best we have ever had. This place is one of our new favs that we will visit every time we make the trek to NM.

Good food, and especially good home made tortilla chips and sopas. You know the thin awesome kind of restaurant tortilla chips? Love those! My only complaint was there was more beans than beef in my nachos and stuffed sopas. The rellenos are stuffed with cheese only .

This is a highly sought after restaurant in Red River, NM. You really need reservations to get in without an hour and a half wait. You can make reservations by phone after 1:00 pm. They do not take online reservations. They are closed on Sunday night even though the web site says they are open. They are only open evenings this year 2023 beginning at 5:00. The chips are fresh and thin and crispy. The salsa is very mild. The chilli rellianos are good but only come with cheese. The guacamole is very good. The enchilada combo's are good. The red sauce is good but very mild. The queso is very good. I did not taste the green or tex-mex sauce. We waited quite awhile for our food. Our server was good but I think the restaurant is struggling to have enough help like so many places today. I believe this is why it is hard to get in. We had empty tables around us which tells me they need a lot more help.
