Probably the best location on Glenwood Ave!! Love going here for their daily app special from 3pm-5pm. They do half off the appetizers and they're literally all amazing. The service here is just okay, but the food definitely makes up for it. Hats off the cooks in the back putting out quality food everyday. Also a great spot to go watch Sunday football.

Our server was great, she was busy but very attentive. We ordered the pretzels for an appetizer, and they were amazing. Fresh and all 3 dipping sauces were good. I split the Custom combo with my husband, the portions are large, and the meats were delicious. This place is great for a group outing. We will definitely return.

First time having Carolina style bbq and it was absolutely fantastic. The plate option to pick your own meat was perfect for my fiancé and I to share. We got pulled pork, brisket, beans, and smashed potatoes. They give hush puppies for free as well as pickles and onions. It's a pretty loud bar/restaurant. Don't recommend for a quick meal because of how long the food took to arrive. But the staff is so cordial and attentive. Fantastic food. Also. You can observe or participate in axe throwing while there as well.

Fantastic downtown bar. Awesome craft cocktails with a solid craft draft beer selection. Tracy is a rockstar behind the bar. Very easy to get drinks and relax. Pool table, patio, great food menu, and even axe throwing!! It’s a great place to hang out and enjoy downtown Raleigh. Highly recommended!

The food was excellent. I got the half rack of ribs and the meat was tender and the sauce was amazing. Fried Okra was good as were the hushpuppies. Service was okay, 3 of us ordered drinks and it took a good 10 min to get those. Waiter was not very attentive and the place was not in the least bit busy. I would definitely go back for the ribs!

First visit was yesterday. I was having lunch witha friend. And Southern Charred knocked our socks off! Everything was so good and the price was twice as nice. Its a beautiful resturant with great food. We had the Nachos and smoked chicken sandwich and brisket sandwich! The meat was tender and perfectly smoked! The sweet mashed potatoes were sent straight down from heaven! Im convinced human hands could not create such light whipped creamy perfection. And hush puppies! Stfu puppies is what they should call them cause they are the best i ever had. I cant wait to bring my family back with me. I have 5 kids with healthy appetites and a hubby whos always hungry! So i know theyll love the selection and the taste. And i wont have to cook but the food is just as good as if momma makes it. Plus they gave me a gift card for my birthday! Sothern Charred is the best! A must try for all Raleighites and any visitors. Trust me you wont be disappointed.

Unquely different bbq located on Glenwood Ave. I would've gave this place 5 stars but the bartender was just okay as far as her service. There were only about 5 people at the bar so she wasn't over whelmed. I get better service at chik fil a. Lol It was my first time here. The portions are big. I had wings smothered in Alabama sauce, then Mac and cheese with brisket on top. The flavor is great. The meats are smoked. The mac and cheese was plated on a skillet so it was super hot! I would recommend this spot.
