Wow, so I’ve been eyeing this place for like a year. I never get a chance because the lines are out the door around 10. So, today, my mom and I were on a mission. We got here precisely at 9 a.m., and boy, I was happy. We finally got a chance to enjoy this gem. It would be best if you experienced Ari’s hospitality. He’s the best and looks at your needs to capture what makes sense for you to order. Not only that, but he makes the best Arnold Palmers. Every suggestion he made was spot on! And let’s talk about the Tuna Salad, wow! I ordered the QT to share with my mom for this week's lunch! That’s how good it was! Lastly, his smile is infectious, and if you’re not a smiler, you will be after leaving. Thank you, Ari, for making this Sunday morning the best! Everyone here is friendly and warm, so don’t hesitate to enjoy a memorable meal!

We were in Raleigh for a work trip and had breakfast here, on a late Saturday morning, before going home. I was surprised that we were sat so quickly! Our server was so nice and quick to get us everything.
The decor is so adorable! I loved looking around at all the eclectic items.
These biscuits are SO GOOD! Their hot cakes are delicious too! We are excited to come back and will be recommending to friends and family if they’re ever in the area.

A wonderful breakfast with family, cozy, diner atmosphere!! The hostesses were so sweet, the sausage and grits were savory and yummy! My daughter's pancake looked 2 inches thick and was delicious she LOVED it! Our waitress, Karen, was so kind and had a great smile! We will definitely be back again to try more amazing food!!

Great food and generous portions. They have some of the freshest and most delicious biscuits in all of Raleigh.
Their sausage gravy is so tasty.
The inside of the restaurant is pretty cool and eclectic. There are a lot of signs and posters from "back in the day."
Be prepared to wait in line on a weekend for breakfast. The line moves relatively fast, and we normally wait around 15-20 mins.

I’ve been eating Big Eds for years. There aren’t many places like this still around Raleigh. Try it for yourself, but I’m totally down for this food. Salmon patties, butterbeans and field peas. Oh yes!

My first time here with daughter who frequents here for lunches. Being Friday I had the fried haddock,green beans & slaw with corn bread. My meal was so delicious! The fish was awesome & the cornbread amazing. The best I've had in yrs. I will definitely be back. Thank you. The wait staff friendly & on it ! Atmosphere very relaxing..

First I have to say, the cornbread was great! It could almost be a meal by itself. The service was good, mom and pops place. The food was good also, and this is the largest reason why they don't have 5 stars. There were 2 of us, and one of our meals was very good while the other was under cooked, by a lot. I still gave them 4 stars due to a nice attempt to fix any problems with us being satisfied.

Fantastic southern style breakfast! We stopped in here for an early breakfast before the days adventures. I got to have some real southern treats - real country ham and cheese grits; my wife had the fried catfish and both were excellent. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. I just wish we could find a breakfast like this back home!

Hubby & I eat here most every time while in the area.A very family oriented eatery specializing in breakfast brunch & lunch. No eating - this time - seated to our table by a very friendly hostess. As always our food was hot fresh - delicious- no complaints- reasonably priced- a winner!!!

This place is like a country diner with a southern flair. The BBQ special was delicious. It included biscuits, corn bread, two sides , drink and dessert for under $12. The banana pudding was awesome with real meringue. The only tip is that there should be more sauces for the BBQ but it was delicious by itself.

Big Ed's Restaurant is a popular spot for a reason. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is inviting. I had the pleasure of dining at Big Ed's recently, and I was not disappointed.
My server, Chasity, was phenomenal. She was friendly, efficient, and attentive. She made sure that we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our meal.
I ordered the [insert dish name], and it was cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold and delicious, and the portion was generous. My friends also ordered a variety of dishes, and they were all equally impressed.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Big Ed's Restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal and excellent service.

Great country cooking place! You can get a variety of food from breakfast to brunch to dinner!! I love everything! You've got to try their hot cakes! My server Karen was amazing and was always there when I needed her. She was very great and her job and very funny!

Good southern home cooked food with a great staff to match. If you like bland food with your ability to add salt and pepper to taste, this is not the place for you. Everything is seasoned just like southern home cooking is supposed to. Great experience and will to frequent this location multiple times this year.

The food was very good and the menu has some of my favorite country dishes, so I'll be back. Of course on a Sunday near closing, staff is super busy, and our waitress was pretty good.
Also, for calibration I start everyone with 4 stars (that's doing your job), 5 is above and beyond (food, service, relative ambiance, etc). They did their job well. I would recommend and I'll go back.

Really enjoyed this place! It’s tough serving a large group so food came slow, but they did a good job. I’m giving Big Ed’s a 4.5 stars! Our waitress was pleasant and personable, she was always ready with refills and gave honest food selection opinions!
About the food: they use real eggs! The pancakes are HUGE! Seriously only order 1 you can split it with your family (I will say this was the only disappointment, think ours was over cooked). The grits were good once I added salt and butter. I didn’t order Catfish but I tasted it and it was excellent! I’m not a catfish fan due to poor experiences in the past with dirty fishy taste (iykyk) but this was not that at all! My beef balogna was very good and hubs and daughter enjoyed their French toast and crispy bacon. I would recommend this spot if your visiting.

Big Ed's is good. It's generally packed with patrons , but the food comes out quick. The sides were not very hot, but the meats are good and fresh.

I have to admit, my fiancé and I were pleasantly surprised and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The french toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits and home fries were delicious. The hot cakes are huge. My fiancé enjoyed one of those. Our server also went above and beyond. We will definitely be back in the future.

Wow! What a gem! Words can not express how phenomenal this establishment is. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere are simply amazing. We were greeted with so many smiles and happy faces. The decor is an antique junkies dream, I was swoon over every last piece. When our food came, it not only looked divine but it tasted fantastic! Best homefries I've ever had.
