Traditional French food meets modern flair! I had the Charcuterie plate.. amazing! The delicious, warm and buttered homemade bread served with it alone is enough reason to return!! Best Manhatten I've EVER HAD in my life! We also recommend the duck A l'orange wings. Everything here was delicious and fresh, wonderful staff. My only suggestion would be air conditioning! ( I know it's not Paris style but... ) I'd give it 100 stars if I could. Just fantastic!!!!!! Well deserved win for best new Restaurant by the Indy critic.

My 8 year old rather "picky eater" grandson hasn't stopped raving about the fried chicken! Royale has an amazing atmosphere and kind staff... the chef even came out to meet my grandson - what a treat!! My food as well as my daughter's food was amazing also. We will definitely return and this is a must eat place for anyone looking for a culinary treat in Raleigh!!

My partner and I went in lastnight for his birthday and were treated extremely well! Complimentary champagne and amazing service by Roxy. We had the oysters (amazing), the orange salad (refreshing), chicken liver mousse (savory), pork sausage (delightful), the duck A'lorange (my favorite) and the bouillabaisse (delectable). We finished with their house made icecream and peanut butter chocolate tart with shaved salt, so good. I recommend this to anyone who wants quality French food downtown! Coming back with a few foodie friends to try everything else on the menu! Cheers Royale!!!

Wow! Romantic corner view with the Raleigh city lights pouring into the dining room. Excellent service, absolutely delicious food, great menu! The speckled trout was beyond amazing, the sweet potato mash was excellent and the potato pie was to die for!! Come try this place you will not be disappointed. We will defiantly be back.

I mean wow! We went for Valentine's day and from the moment we walked in the door, we knew we were in for a treat. First of all, as a Designer, I appreciated how they achieved "Rustic Elegance" the right way. Marble tables and chandeliers juxtaposed with exposed brick and Southern antiques. Every detail was perfect. Then came true Southern hospitality. Lucas was the ultimate host. He was a far cry from the indifferent hosts you find most places these days. When he wasn't busy he kept us entertained while we waited and as soon as a spot was free, he moved our reservations up a tad. Roxy, was our server and she was amazing! Personable, attentive, really knew the menu, and was sweet about my cheese allergy. The food was so incredible that we had to meet the chef on the way out, and he was warm, humble, and very nice. We eat out all the time, but this is my new favorite. Everything we had was perfect. We enjoyed: Tarte Flambe (absolutely divine), Duck a l'orange, the Pork Chop, The peanut butter tart (absolutely to die for!) and the banana split. We will be back!

Had one of the most memorable birthday dinners here last night. You know that saying that the second time eating somewhere is never as good as the first? Well, that doesn't apply to Royale. This was my second time dining here, and I have been equally been amazed by the Duck a l'Orange, Catch of the Day (with a almond and brown butter sauce—mmm!), Tarte Flambée, Baked Brie, the list goes on....Royale is the "French-American" bistro that Raleigh sorely needed, and a special thank you goes out to our amazing server last night, Erica, who surprised me with a lemon tart and bubbles for the occasion! She was truly excellent.

Went in solo on a Monday. No wait to sit at the bar. Great service and food was outstanding. Chicken liver mousse, Tarte Flambe, creamy polenta with wild boar ragout, toasted coconut ice cream. My top ten has a new addition.

Finally had a dining experience at one of Raleigh's better restaurants that didn't disappoint. Charming decor, attentive yet not overbearing service, and with a request a couple of days in advance they were able to turn Wednesday into Saturday. Thanks, Chef, for the special birthday Wellingtons! We'll be back.

Delicious restaurant in the heart of Raleigh. Everything I had was top notch. Of course, the Brussels sprouts are not to be missed and can be a meal alone. I am not sure what they added but I could not stop eating them. My trout included a savory salad and was flavorful. Dessert with strawberries nicely completed the meal. Worth a visit in Raleigh.

We can't say enough great things about Royale! From the decor to the delicious food, it felt like being transported to a Paris boutique restaurant. We enjoyed the duck breast and the pork loin accompanied by "the guillotine" and "la louisiane" cocktails. As a whiskey lover I was really pleased with the latter! The duck was tender and delicious and even a bit sweet. The pork loin was a LOT of food and went great with a little extra ranch on the side. Excellent service, food, drinks, and ambiance. We'll definitely be back.

Had a wonderful dinner here. I went on a Thursday night and even though the place was at capacity busy-wise, the staff (I believe our server was Audrey) was more than helpful, taking time to make sure we were comfortable with our orders, spelling out the different menu items and giving us insightful suggestions. We had the fried chicken, duck breast, deviled eggs and fried Brussel sprouts (paired with a bohemian national and glass of Malbec, obviously). Our favorites were the entrees, both the fried chicken and duck were unreal. I am excited to go back and try the rest of the menu. JN ProTip: Thursday night special is only time they serve the fried chicken entree all week. For ~$18 you get half a chicken, cooked to utter perfection, placed atop a bed of mashed potatoes and drizzled with luscious white gravy. Pairs well with the $2 bohemian national. Also, great date spot with the decor and lighting.

Normally when I see a sign "French Bistro" or something of the sort, I immediately turn my thoughts to mediocre food that you could find at most other places. This place on the other hand is incredible! Truly some of the best food I've had in Raleigh. Some very interesting takes on traditional dishes as well. They have a great bar, with good top shelf selections and a creative cocktail menu. The staff are all really great and friendly.

Charming little French restaurant in downtown Raleigh. I was really wowed by the exceptional service we received from Mia. I had informed her that I was vegan and she went out of her way to speak to the chef who was more than happy to make an amazing spicy chickpea curry dish which was not on the menu. The dish was incredibly delicious and should permanently be added to the menu (or send me the recipe 😁). Mia was very sweet, attentive to our needs, joyful and knows how to make her clients happy! If I owned a restaurant, I would definitely hire Mia, as the success of a restaurant is not only determined by the quality of the food, but also the staff ! Thank you for making our evening a memorable one! Will definitely be back. Oh and the restaurant would score bonus points if it had at least one French speaking employee 😁😁 merci beaucoup et à bientôt

Excellent food here! I had the duck breast and it was really flavorful. It paired well with the Malbec wine that I had. The food everyone else in our party got was also very good. On the upper end in terms of price, though this would be a good place for a date!

Anytime I'm craving steak and frites I come here! I love the ambiance and the almost tucked away bar in the restaurant. My friends and I have enjoyed coming here for a weekend dinner every now and then and I highly recommend anyone else to go.
