So we are currently on a mission to go to places we have never been instead of ones we love. I happened to be in North Raleigh looking for a gift when I spotted this place. I remembered that it was on our list and so followed that great smoky smell. This place did not disappoint. Our waiter was fabulous and upbeat. The prices were great and the food? Omg! Amazing!!! I have never had Carolina pork that tasted so fresh and juicy. The entire meal was spent looking at each other groaning. Foodgasms!!! Being it was my husbands birthday this was the perfect place for the celebration. We are thinking of having them cater our wedding next year. Thank you so much for being a place that we can enjoy coming to. ���
First time here & I was very pleased with the service & atmosphere here. We went around 4pm on a Thursday for an early supper & our server helped me decide between two burgers- took the time to ask me a couple questions about my preferences & even swapped the onions for me. My boyfriend & I enjoyed all of our food. He says "he's blue because his food is gone".
If there were fifteen more stars I would select those too.
This is an awesome place with my kind of music, my kids mixed drinks and best of all the food. I had pulled pork the first time. Loved it.
Came back next time with my 21 year old son. We ate there while I watched him fall in love with the place. While there he decided to buy his dad a rack of ribs to take home for his 51st birthday. We took the leftovers back to Brown Summit. My daughter18 had my leftovers. All four of us loved the food. That is rare at our house. Hats off to our waitress. She was very knowledgeable and quite friendly.
There was no wait when we got there. The server was so helpful and knew his stuff when it came to the food and beer. The food was the the best I have ever put in my mouth. I went back the next day bc it was soooooo dang good. I will be back the next time I'm in town.
Terrific food-every time we go!! Large portions, fantastic bar-b-que. Management and staff are the best. Highly recommend.

Red Hot & Blue offers friendly service, extremely generous portions, delicious ribs and pulled pork, and the best onion rings and potato salad in town!! We love it!
Never been to the one in Raleigh but went to Williamsburg Va. and it was AMAZING!! no line no wait, food was great came out quick, and staff was awesome too, banana pudding wasnt good but, ate catfish, pulled pork was banging and slaw was terrific too!!!

This is quickly becoming one of my "go to" places in Raleigh. Every thing I've tried has been excellent. The food is always perfectly seasoned. Yesterday, I had the Delta Catfish with Fries, Mac and Cheese, and Hushpuppies. The staff is always friendly and helpful and I love the atmosphere.
Amazing food and great service as always! Can't beat the pulled pork platter :)
Atmosphere was wonderful with a nice Blues Brothers feel and music playing in the background. Food was good and so was the Bahama Mama, the wait for seating due to lack of staff is the only reason for the 4 star and not 5, we will be going back to see if we can up their rating.
Food was ok if you like smoked meats. Service was great even though they were short staffed.
Update: Thank you RH&B for contacting me. I have already visited your restaurant again via curbside. Food delicious, as usual and I stayed warm in my car. Changing my review from 3 to 5 stars. :-)
Previous post: Love the brisket. Love the potato salad and hush puppies and sauces. Hated that they put this me in the very back by kitchen. Terrible draft. I froze. Plus you could hear the kitchen staff cussing f@@#. I had to leave without finishing because I was so cold.
The waitress was really awesome. She was very friendly, energetic and made us feel so welcomed. The food was good as was the drinks. Will be going back soon.

Boy, what a roller coaster of emotions. I'm a southern boy and love my barbecue.. I'll start with with that it was an hour before closing on 6/4/20. I'm not sure who was the pit master for this purchase.
I ordered their five meat combo which came with two sides. All of their meats had sufficient smoke flavor. Also the restaurant smelt amazing!
Here is the result:
Sausage: I normally could care less for sausage in general, but theirs was quite delicious.
Pulled pork: was o.k. I enjoyed that they left some burnt ends in the portion!
Pulled chicken: great flavor, but was unfortunately dry.
Ribs: I'm a huge fan of ribs, of each style, however theirs was not "fall of the bone" (Which I know some prefer it not to be) but it was tougher than desired. Although they had sufficient coverage in bark. Flavor, so-so.
Brisket: extremely surprised of the brisket quality, no flavor, no pull, and extremely tough.
Potato salad: enjoyed this, great flavor! Potatoes could be cut slightly smaller to allow more of the mixture to get on the fork.
Macaroni & Cheese: also enjoyable, did remind me of stouffer's Mac & Cheese (which I enjoy, don't hate me).
Service: ordered take-out, however, spoke with the bartender while my food was being prepared and he knows how to hold a conversation!
Sauces: I asked for all three BBQ sauces, each had unique and tasteful flavor. For spicy lovers(like me) yes their spicy BBQ IS spicy.
I enjoyed that they threw in hush puppies ( may already came with the order) but didn't expect them, which had classic hush puppy taste.
HOWEVER, all of this was only $20, including taxes. I've never been to a BBQ joint that offered a better deal!! (Would of been a three star without the value).
They have the same menu as The Rendezvous in Memphis, so dry rubbed ribs and such. We come for the sausage and cheese plate. All good, especially the clobber.
The Mable bacon burger was on point compliments to the chef the ribs are also good here definitely would recommend and the servers are very nice also
I've always liked Red Hot and Blue. But I have not visited in a while. Now they have a new menu, I had the three meat choice and choose sausage, pulled pork and brisket. With beans and fries ! Yummy. The waitress was great offered me a To go soda and smiled all the time. I recommend this place !
This is a great BBQ joint, but I just need to emphasize THE BURNT ENDS ARE SOME OF THE MOST DELICIOUS nuggets of meat I have ever tasted. I’ve ordered them multiple times since I first had them last month and every time has been a transcendental experience. If you wanna meet god in the best way possible, get the burnt ends.
A friend and I went for a late lunch here yesterday. I had been before but not for years as I moved farther away and it was my friends first time! It was truly outstanding. Anthony greeted us when we walked in and showed us to our table. I have to say, Anthony is a huge part of why we enjoyed our lunch. Of course, the food was amazing but I was expecting that. What a gem he is for this establishment. Personable, funny,, attentive and made perfect suggestions as add ons for our meal. We will definitely be dining here for often to enjoy great food and service!
Amazing service. We had a large 15 person party and the server didnt miss a beat. The food was delicious, timely, and correct. He kept the drinks filled and checked in regularly. I am excited to go back again. I had the catfish and it was delicious. Soft crust outside and easy flaky pull apart meat.
We miss the location in Waverly Place from 20 plus years ago, but sure glad this one is open!! Great food and great service!! Pulled bbq, smoked chicken, macaroni, slaw, and tater salad were all great. They also have awesome sauces.
11/10 recommend!! We stopped here for the first time on our way home for a quick drink and appetizer not realizing they were literally just closing. We sat at the bar and despite it being 5 min past closing we had the best first experience!! Great recommendations and great service from the bar tender and manager. Nicole and Ricky really set this place apart from other BBQ joints around the Raleigh area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We will be back 😎
