Review Irregardless Cafe - Raleigh

We had a work lunch here for 6 on a Friday in November. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu was small in variety but very high quality. I had the salmon, which was very tasty in a white sauce; however, the portion was small for the price. I thought I would have gotten a side or salad to go with it but otherwise enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is comfortable inside, and I found parking close by pretty easily.

Food and service were great! Price point is high, the portions were small, and I would have liked the option of sides to round them out, but everything was delicious. The oyster mushroom calamari was especially good. We loved the singer! Wish I had gotten her name, she was very good.

Our Christmas order pickup. Pot roast $70 and roasted root veges $25 Food was delicious. Pot roast had a ‘curry’ flavor. But was very tasty and well prepared. However, the veges to meat ratio was not great. Just 9 cubed piece of meat. I thought there should have been bit more pieces then what we got, and lesser of the abundance of vegetables in it. The root veges were amazing.

A positive, relaxed atmosphere that is easy to enjoy. Nothing flashy or fancy but fresh food and rotating farm to table offerings. Love the touch of live music. We came early with a reservation and had a really excellent waitress. Two out of three cocktails were excellent and the chopped steak was definitely the highlight as well. It’s vegan friendly and a good option if you’re looking to eat healthy and check out a tucked away piece of downtown Raleigh.

Everything was delicious. I found this place online and it had very good reviews so decided to give it a try. We're so glad we did. The food and service was excellent. We were seated outside and it was nice to breathe in fresh air and enjoy good food. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is worth every penny.

It was a mild chilly after thanksgiving Friday early afternoon. We had a friend visiting from out of town and I wanted to go to a Raleigh staple. In came Irregardless, a classic diner style restaurant with an eclectic menu. We were in for a treat as they had their brunch items on the menu. Chicken and waffles are amazing, arguably the best friend chicken in Raleigh. The menu is known for having plenty of good vegan options as well. Service is great, they definitely make you feel at home. We will continue to go back.

We have been coming to Irregardless since 2017 and over the years the food has never disappointed. We have mostly been here for the weekend brunches. And oh man, that can get really crowded. You always want to be there when it opens. Recently we tried their lunch for the first time and that was great too. The menu is inclusive and there is something for everyone. The interiors are casual and laid back and I have always remembered the staff to be nice and courteous. Special mention to their waffles which was delicious according to my 3 year old! I tried the open face sandwich from their lunch menu which was so good, that I tried to replicate it at home. Their garden frittata has been another favorite. We are yet to try their dinner menu, so that's surely on the list.

Fun, unique atmosphere with a lot of options for those with special dietary needs. We loved the fried green tomatoes with a creamy chipotle sauce. We also tried the grilled peach salad with a yummy shallot vinaigrette dressing. Wish a roll or something came with it, as that was my entree. The chopped steak and mashed potatoes was delicious. Again, could have used maybe a side of vegetables, even if it raised the price. We will definitely return.

An amazing spot for individuals looking for vegan/vegetarian/gf options. The parking can be a bit tricky (street parking or some $3-5 pay lots). It is a tad pricey for what you get, $12 for a waffle/ $10 for the 3 items on the kids menu. Service was great, knowledgeable about the menu. They did have live music which added to the atmosphere.

Blocks off the main road, you’re not likely to accidentally walk into Irregardless unless you’re looking for it but it has managed to survive serving Raleigh food for almost 50 years. After tasting the food here it’s obvious how they did it, they make good food here. My wife and I started with cocktails. The Depeche Mode is a creamy rum drink with tiki vibes and they make a good old fashioned if you ask nicely. The grilled peach salad was everything I want from a salad: not over dressed but dressed well, balanced flavors and multiple textures. They obviously know how to make a salad and they split the salad and brought it on 2 plates without us asking them to when we told them we were going to share it which was a nice surprise. We got salmon and a quinoa salad on sweet potato for our dinner entrees and both were delicious. I’m judgmental of restaurants that don’t have salt and pepper on the table if the seasoning is not perfect and some bites, for me, wanted more salt but I still loved my meal. On my second visit I came in for brunch. My wife had the standard breakfast, and she liked it. I had the chicken and waffles. The seasoning on the chicken was okay but the chicken was overcooked and the waffle was just okay. I like my waffles a little crispy but these were not. The syrup was however was fantastic. They don’t give you a lot, but it’s magic. That said, I will try something else if I come back in for brunch.
