It was great! Sara had the crabcake (great presentation) and short ribs and I had the blue cheese wedge salad (awesome) and the crispy shrimp � (delish). Great fun waiter and fun music. Definitely recommend and we'll be back!
Was our first time here. Was recommended by a friend. Went for our anniversary. If you like seafood great place to go. Food and service were outstanding. Will certainly return!
Good atmosphere, great service, excellent food! My Caesar salad was just...ok, but the tomatoes with blue cheese and balsamic from my husband's wedge salad was really flavorful. My scallops were very large and perfectly cooked. Vegetables had just the right amount of crispness, and it tasted like the asparagus was sautéed in bacon grease (mmmm...bacon). Although a bit pricey, a great new option in Punta Gorda.
My daughter and I were at FM Dons the other day for a light lunch. I had the Calypso soup and it was 'to die for'. HAD to have the spicy shrimp appetizer too and that was so good we were tempted to order a second. Finally my daughter couldn't take it any more and ordered the grouper poorboy too. She is grouper crazy so it was calling her name. Then, of course, we can't be there without running into some great friends we had to say hi to. FM Dons is Just a great place for food, friends and satisfaction.

Grouper special was amazingly prepared but the whole menu is well done. Great addition to Punta Gorda landscape.
Had a wonderful dinner with my husband. Keri our server was polite and very attentive. Chicken was moist and flavorful. Good size portions. Will definitely be returning!!!!
We went here for my birthday. Went early and it was practically empty. The food and service were excellent except for the host. We waited only a couple of minutes which was fine, but didn't expect her insincere and snarky attitude when she did appear. The swordfish was recommended by a friend and was excellent. We also had the scallops which were delicious. We tried to make reservations for a later time, but the phone went unanswered. Would definitely go again. The entrees and 2 drinks each were $100 plus tip so not an everyday place for us, but nice for a special occasion.
Our experience at F.M. Don’s was lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food tasted great (although the presentation was something to be desired) and didn’t take long to arrive at the table. The atmosphere was bright, open, and relaxing.
We went for brunch and very much enjoyed our food. The crab benedict contained a ton of crab, and the poached egg was cooked perfectly. The brioche french toast wasn’t too sweet and the thick cut bacon was a perfect, savory compliment.
The kids fish and chips was by far the tastiest. The breaded Mahi Mahi was super juicy and flavorful, and the portion was huge - easily 6oz+. The fish did not require any additions like lemon or sauce.
Again, the only minor criticism was that the presentation of most of the dishes was a bit plain. However, we would definitely come back.
Wonderful appetizers. Escargot, goat cheese and tuna tower were delicious. Crusted Mahi was very good.

Delightful find in Punta Gorda. Quality food and service. Plenty of great menu choices for all diet considerations. We were waiting to pick someone up at the airport, took a little walk through downtown, which was decorated for Christmas, when we found F.M. Don's with indoor and outdoor tables. Escargot and mussels were wonderful with homemade crispy baguettes.
Ambiance was warm shabby chip and calmly elegant. Food selection was limited for lunch but decent priced, it did take a long time but was very good. While the host was very welcoming our server was cold and took forever for everything outside of collecting our credit card I'm disappointed to report.
The appetizers are fantastic. We make our meal out of them. Shrimp and grits are also my go to. I can honestly say we've never had a bad meal here. Service is great too
Enjoyed drinks in the heart of downtown Punta Gorda. Centrally located it has a cool vibe with it's indoor and outdoor bar.
Decent - Escargot delicate and tasty smallish portion, calamari, sharable portion but large soggy rings not crisp, Thai chili and pickled veggies was Ok.
Shrimp and grits a fine dish, pork chop cooked well, tender, said comes with butter beans looked more like cannelli beans, roasted Brussels sprouts and kale over-done.
Nice surprise with a N.Y. State Finger Lakes Reisling, good price by the bottle. Service was good. 2 appys, 2 entrees, bottle of wine, tip, tax $140.
Breakfast with Santa, then the Parade. It was a very special day. Reservations were necessary and so worth it. I hear normal hours and menu are good too. Very friendly atmosphere.
Excellent dinner with friends last night. The service and staff was some of the best we have had at a restaurant. The food was excellent with few faults.
I would suggest everything with chose below. Especially the fish and chips and the braised short ribs

Stopped by and my husband and I had the best Bloody Mary. The bartender was awesome too. I am really bad with names but we stopped on Sunday Oct. 8 shortly after they opened.

Good Food, nice atmosphere, service a tad slow.
We've been to Jack's on Marion several times, and the food has always been very good. This most recent time I ordered the Sea Scallop Risotto, and it was excellent. Presentation was good too (see photo).
Service, while not so slow as to be upsetting, was slower than I'd prefer: we had to wait a fair bit after closing our menus before the waiter came by to take our orders. The food came out within a reasonable time though. While this was during the "high season", it was early and there weren't many full tables, so I'm not sure what the delay was. The waiters did use tablets to fill the orders, which did seem to require more time rather than less, but perhaps that's just the learning curve.
The bar is nicely stocked and I'm told the martinis are excellent. The atmosphere is nice, and there is outdoor seating if you like the sidewalk cafe experience. Prices were in line with the food quality and with similar restaurants in the area.
All-in-all, a pleasant place to dine, but don't be in a hurry.

Let’s get real... life is incredible in Punta Gorda.. we are the envy of the nation... FM Dons is a brilliant concept with great food, great location, generous cocktails and 5 star service. Margaret our server was polished, professional, attentive and just delightful. Her level of service was a perfect match for the food. Fresh, delicious, perfectly plated ... quality was the culinary word of the day.... shrimp perfection.... the goat cheese and apricot app.. scrumptious... the short rib... generous perfection..oh the cheesecake... just yummy. Start smiling about everything we have here... and give this gorgeous location the attention it deserves. as a chef I was oh so happy...
My go to spot in Punta Gorda. The goat cheese macadamia nut appetizer is incredible. The Faroe Island Salmon is delicious! I tried the Ahi Tuna Tartare for the first time an was not disappointed. Although I do t have a photo, the carrot cake is to die for!!
3 of 4 meals were great. Service could not have been better. Beef tips were superb, but the fish (MahiMahi) and chips lacked flavor and was dry. The coleslaw was also bland.
First time here and was not disappointed. Wife had the pan roasted gulf grouper and I had the prime rib eye. Both were perfect. Service was excellent. We'll return.
